- In this video, I wanted to showcase a number of Jazz albums and artists who I genuinely believe do not receive the correct amount respect they deserve, considering the standard of the material they have produced. Please give them a listen & see if you agree with me.
Albums featured:
Doug Raney: • Feo's Waltz
Carter Jefferson: • The Rise Of Atlantis
Windmill Tilter: • Sweet Dulcinea Blue (R...
Moravagine: • Zabuco
Cedar Walton: • Blue Train

That Moravagine album is excellent! I was a little surprised by your Cedar Walton selection as it leans more traditional BUT a fantastic album nonetheless. Those are 2 favorites of mine from this quintet. Thanks for another great video Lewis.
Just found your channel this morning. Great stuff!
There are 3 Chet Baker albums on Steeplechase featuring Doug Raney, well worth getting. This is my favourite Chet Baker period and my first intro to Doug Raney.
I have only heard Carter Jefferson on the Woody Shaw album Stepping Stones. Absolutely brilliant record. I'll check out your recommendation.
I am unaware of the french band but I will check them out
I don't have the Cedar Walton album, it's too expensive for me now but I have heard the Blue Trane track many times and it is brilliant. I strongly disagree with your view on Bob Berg. I was lucky enough to see him with Miles Davis in London and he was sensational. But hey, were all different with different opinions.
I have an original copy of Windmill Tilter which I bought really cheaply many many years ago. Yes, it is a fantastic album. I was lucky enough to know and play with Kenny Wheeler, he was a lovely man and the music is a true reflection of his personality.
Anyway, I really enjoyed your video and look forward to watching your other videos. I love hearing people talk passionately about their love of music.
All the best,
Richard
Lazy Bird is a great album. Found a sealed copy this past summer for $20. I really like his choice of tunes, mostly composed by tenor players. Golson, Coltrane, and Sam Rivers are great selections. Especially, Beatrice which is just a perfect composition.
I discovered Doug from this channel from a previous video. Great find!
another great video, love how you show different Jazz records keep the videos coming! greetings from Australia 🙂
Great picks-and some new discs to check out as usual
Your content is very good but your presentation needs to improve. Your pronunciation of some of the musicians is terrible. On the flip side, i will keep watching your videos because i know you can and will do better.
