His Excellency Reuben E Brigety Junior served as the US Ambassador to the African Union under former President Barak Obama. Immediately prior to that, he was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Africa, where he was directly responsible for all US embassies south of the Democratic Republic of Congo, including South Africa. He now serves as the United States Ambassador to South Africa.
