I tried everything to get Alexa working on my Firestick 4K, thought it must have been faulty. Then your method worked like magic! It also enabled my echo dot to control the Firestick. I was able to change my Amazon account back to my correct Australian address, while leaving the Firestick registered to a US address. Many thanks Techy Guy for your brilliant work around!

Alexa app on Fire TV is disabled in Mexico. Actually they sell Fire TV stick "without Alexa". Your workaround does work, exactly as you say. It will add Alexa app to Fire TV. Thanks!
i had a problem regarding the alexa app video service provider under the tv & video tab, because those featured skill like Fire Tv, Hulu, etc. are literally not there and the app just keep loading for nothing. but when i saw your video and tried to follow your trick regarding region change, that trick also work like a charm on my problem and now its finally solve! thanks bro. my alexa was trying to connect to an old firestick. All i had to do was de register that old device and it worked perfectly.

Hey guys no need to do all that mentioned in the video! Amazon India have finally released the "Alexa Software" for Indian fire tv sticks! Just check if your FTVS is updated to Fire OS 5.2.6.7 if not then update it and after that update you will be able to use and command Alexa using your FTVS's voice remote! Also you need to download the Alexa app on your mobile to adjust it's settings! The whole interface is just so Awesome! 👍😍 Currently it is only available in Indian English but I hope in the near future they will release it in Hindi and other widely spoken Indian regional languages! Enjoy!

Changing country settings to USA will kill the purpose as prime video and all other Indian apps will not support. If it is supposed to be used as a casting device to TV, then there are cheaper cast device. Firestick is awesome without Alexa too.. mobile remote is very user friendly. Guys wait for Amazon's updated patch for India support. Actually Alexa is learning indian English and other regional languages. We can expect Alexa option in firestick soon.. please don't change your country settings and kill the purpose of fire stick,if you are in India.

@@iasminaraujo6674 Funciona, porém apenas com o fire stick na versão internacional. Porém não acredito que compense comprar por causa dessa função pois eu particularmente uso pouco até porque só funciona no idioma inglês e principalmente porque a garantia é complicada caso futuramente dê algum defeito, que foi o que aconteceu comigo.
@@LucasOliveira-ed5io Não funcionará pois o fire comprado no Brasil é uma outra versão onde o controle não tem microfone nem botão dedicado a Alexa. Teria que comprar o fire stick internacional no mercado livre por exemplo, mas diante mão é algo que acredito que não usará muito até porque só funciona em inglês então pra pesquisar videos ou filmes nacionais ela não reconhece.

The Cons of registering FireTV using US account instead of local, you will get blocked US channels and missing some local channels, the better way to enable Alexa is to pair the FireTV 4K (local account) with Echo studio as Home Theater (tested).

@@sergiovazquez398 si. Create una dirección alterna en tu cuenta de Amazon que sea de eua la dirección. No afecta en nada. A la hora que vayas en Amazon si deseas comprar te va a preguntar a que dirección te va a mandar el articulo comprado y listo
Oye amigo una pregunta en la parte donde anula su registro quiere decir que se elimina la cuenta de Amazon y hay que crear otra o no pasa nada y puedes poner la misma de dónde cambiaste la dirección? Es que no entendí muy bien

As I said earlier you will not be able to access Amazon prime videos but you can enjoy all other contents like TH-cam, Hotstar etc.

Yes U can still watch prime videos on fire stick after doing the process to enable alexa on fire tv. Just open prime videos in mobile with ur account, select a video and use the option play on fire tv . Ur video starts playing in fire tv. Only thing that needs to be checked is to have mobile and fire tv on same network..

Yes Himanshu, I have tried using my Amazon Echo device, Alexa was able to read my Kindle Books, hope we can also use the same with Fire TV, just give it a try...

Hi , I don't think you can put your Alexa on sleep mode.
But we do have a option of "do not disturb", check the Alexa app for the same.

No you can't paly directly on your TV, but you can do it via prime video app on your mobile, you will have a option to play directly on TV via your mobile
