I’ve watched several documentaries on Natalie & her death. Robert’s timeline has always been so off it’s WILD. I think when you mix anger & alcohol in a tight space, bad things can happen. 💔
Natalie killed her self Everything was a perfect storm that led up to her death your right But having a costar she was afraid of water she was an alcoholic and drug addict and nobody talks about that she was partying on the mainland all day with Christopher and came back to the boat so you can imagine what happened after that more alcohol more pills and the rest is history!

Witness accounts just don’t match the stories, and the ship captain came out and said they (the Captain and Christopher Walken) lied to protect Robert Wagner, not that they fully understand what happened, but they did know the truth would look bad for him. There was a couple in a nearby boat who could hear Wagner taunting Natalie, presumably while she was struggling in the water. I just don’t think that he would be considered a person of interest if it was all rumors and lies.
Yep! Wagner lied about everything and made everyone else lie to cover up the fact that he and Walken were an item behind closed doors. The argument between Natalie and Wagner happened because she caught them together that night.

I was in my teens and watched her dramatic, intense roles on TV, i.e., This Property is Condemned, Love With the Proper Stranger and Splendor in the Grass. She was so very beautiful, everything about her. What a moving, talented actor. I was in my twenties when she died and I remember where I was and crying on the phone with my best friend. My best friend for 30 years was Gladys Presley's best friend! ( YES! Elvis Presley's mother!) Anyway my friend met Natalie Wood when she was staying at Graceland with Elvis briefly. My friend said she KNEW about RJ and had FRIENDS who knew him and so told me RJ was EXTREMELY MOODY !! So she said Natalie had her hands full with him.

RJ had a lot of power and threatened people to lie and tell the story he made up. Natalie was afraid of dark water. With three men on the boat, she never would have tried to stop the dingy from bumping the boat herself. The dingy story was a lie.

So your Gene Tierney video was recommended to me, and I started watching and loved it (always appreciate it when people of my generation appreciate the legends). When I heard this was a series, I got excited and hoped you may have covered my favorite. I was so happy when I found you had done Natalie. Terrific coverage of her career & trauma her mother caused her. I'm also angry her death has overshadowed much of her life, but while I think many people have exploited her, most or at least many saw her as a beloved figure who they grew up with and pray for justice for her premature demise. The suspicion around her death was actually immediate, and Lana & Davern's books were just written in the last 10 years. What Remains Behind was incredibly heartbreaking, for multiple reasons. While I'm not a fan of Lana or Maria, Natalie also had another sister and friends who the girls were ostracized from. If you watch alot of true crime, you will very often see the children being estranged and separated from the victim parent's family. Its infuriating and heartbreaking. But when children lose one parent, they surely do not want to lose another and are often psychologically immune or in complete denial from any negative opinions of the surviving parent. Ive adored Natalie for almost 30 years, and in a basic and unbiased biography of her, at 11 years old, I knew he was not a good person and it wasn't an accident. As I've gotten older (& I've not read Lana or Davern's books, but I did read her friend Gavin Lambert's ((& actually did a book report on it in 2004, only kid in 8th grade doing a star of Hollywood's Golden age 😳)) I've realized at worst he's a murderer and at best liable for leaving her in freezing water (an eye witness at the time reported hearing cries for help and a male shouting essentially keep your pants on, we're coming). There's alot about her & "RJ"'s relationship that is not included. Alot. I cried when they reopened her case and changed the cause. The LAPD and LA County coroner do not reopen or alter death certificates due to media pressure, especially 30 year old cases. The coroner at the time was kind of infamous, and RJ was a big star with alot of friends. Its not hard to imagine people looking the other way or wanting to believe the best. I so appreciate the good intention and otherwise fabulous video, but had to voice that because it is so important. She was so important. I doubt she'll get any justice in this world, but its wonderful for people to remember her for the Great she was and to not celebrate him for the great he wasn't
No! BRAINSTORM HAD NOT WRAPPED PRODUCTION! Natalie STILL had scenes to do they she didn't get to do because she died. You left out the fact that there were MANY rumors in the rags that Natalue & Christopher Walken were having an affair. That's not true that there was ZERO chemistry on camera between Natalie & Christopher. If that WERE true, there wouldn't have been any rumors about their affair.

Fact, not speculation, on November 18, 2011, the police in L.A. reopened the case of Natalie Wood’s death based on substantial and pertinent new information they received.
Look up the interview of Walken on Entertainment Tonight 1997. He's asked about that night and what and how he says it is chilling. I used to like him until that interview. Natalie's sister says that whatever evidence he gave the police when they reopened the case was never revealed as he begged them not to say anything public. It used to be said he and Wagner had an affair as Wagner was publicly interested in men his entire life.
WTH? I never thought of that angle. RJ and Chris Walken? I love Chris Walken. He was so beautiful when young. And a great actor. I was mesmerized by him in The Deer Hunter, when he won the Oscar. RJ may have been really cute, and he's hilarious as Number Two in Austin Powers, but his acting is fair to middling. I could see RJ being jealous and resentful because he is not as good an actor as Natalie and Chris. I don't think Chris is a meddler by nature.

Sorry that dinghy story doesn't sound quite right, she would call for the deck hands to tie the dinghy. I don't believe she would have untied and tide that dinghy herself. Plus the deckhand said that Natalie and RJ had a huge row and things breaking and smashing in their quarters. Whatever happened though it's sad that she's not around anymore.
I recently watched Natalie in The Green Promise [1948]. I heard that her first experience where her fear of water emerged, was during a flooding scene filmed in that movie. She was such a beautiful young girl & a very gifted child actress, as well as an adult. Thank you for explaining her perspective at the end. 😭😥 Splendor In The Grass has had me crying my eyes out ever since I first saw it when I was sixteen. That was about 45 years ago. I blubbered to my mother that I just knew my life would play out tragically like that story. I don't care how young Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty were, they both should have gotten Best Actor Oscars! Another great movie directed by Elia Kazan. I know you said Elia Kazan harassed Vivien Leigh on the set of Streetcar Named Desire. I don't know what the back story is on that particular film, but Elia Kazan has directed some of the best ever films.

Wow. This was wonderful. I've been a fan of Natalie's my whole life. I rewatch "Miracle on 34th Street", "Love with the Proper Stranger", "Inside Daisy Clover", and of course, "Splendor in the Grass" every chance I get. "From Here to Eternity" isn't shown very often and I wonder if it's because it's compared with the original movie version -- you know how that goes... I appreciate your take on Natalie's complicated struggle with her life path and mental health and how she managed them with love & courage. I appreciate your sensitivity towards her children and acknowledgement of the Media's relentless coverage of the sensational over the rational. What you said about folks not wanting to accept the accident scenario is so true. As hard as it is to accept, everyone on that yacht was drunk. The harbor master was concerned about the entire party, including the captain. It's all very sad. Thanks for mentioning the positive aspects of her legacy.🤗

I loved the positive frame of Natalie Wood’s life as an actress and a person in your telling of her story. I never wanted to believe her husband did it. It’s a tragedy. And your right about the danger of the water, I almost died after being in a boating accident because the other boat did not have lights on late at night and we collided. My head hit the side of the boat and I was knocked unconscious. Had I gone overboard I would have been dead. Accidents happen.

Well but the autopsy reports show that Natalie had a full bladder which does not happen if you are “ struggling to survive in the ocean “… this is the first thing the body will do . Also how about the injuries in Natalie’s body ? Did she sustain them by falling in the ocean ??? There are strange things that did not ad up for sure .
We ALL have conflicting energies in our lives that need to be balanced. Her Gypsy Rose role proves she's definitely not a singer but having a stage mom in real life, along with her natural charm, made her perfect for this role. Fun fact, psychotherapy is still called psychotherapy. (Meaning psychological therapy vs physical therapy, speech therapy, and so on)

That being said, Lana obviously was a drinker and I think cappy ton tbefriended her. It was obvious she was a lonely person with her bff the bottle. I was a little concerned when u said Dean died before the end of RWAC. I believe he died before he finished filming Giant with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. I remember cause they had to finish last scene and they used a double, took his words from other lines and pieced together what they could to finish his lines in the banquet scene where he was accepting an award. Actually, she did not drown! The autopsy showed no water in her lungs which means she was dead before she went into the water. Autopsy proves it wasn’t a technical drowning!
Natalie was sixteen, but she had the mind and maturity of a woman---with the proof being what she socially engineered as a young woman. It's wrong to project one's insecurities and limitations onto another person who clearly had a mind of her own. RJ was 'closer to her own age,' but things didn't twice turn out so well. To an objective person, it would seem that the quality of the relationship matters more than the age or is what matters period despite prejudices of society.
Incorrect she was found at 7:30 am not 11am. Wagner refused to turn on the searchlight he refused to contact the coastguard immediately and he refused to identify her body. No accident in my opinion dosent make any sense whatsoever.
Interesting take, however Dennis actually tied the dingy to the back of the boat. And she had finger grip type bruising on her body. My parents lived on a boat when I was a kid, ain’t no way that lady was about to go starting up a dingy engine on her own it’s harder than you’d think. She wasn’t that type of lady. She was always a passenger never someone to get involved with the workings of boats etc. Also, if she had slipped into the water don’t you think she would of shouted for help?! She could of been unconscious before going into the water. Too many inconsistencies for it to just be an accident. Natalie deserves the truth to be out 💗

Natalie was one of the few child stars that went on to become a great adult actor, and that really is amazing which many could not reach.
She was actually the only successful child actor who also had a successful adult career.

You left out the fact that there were MANY rumors in the rags that Natalue & Christopher Walken were having an affair. That's not true that there was ZERO chemistry on camera between Natalie & Christopher. If that WERE true, there wouldn't have been any rumors about their affair.

Look up the interview of Walken on Entertainment Tonight 1997. He's asked about that night and what and how he says it is chilling. I used to like him until that interview. Natalie's sister says that whatever evidence he gave the police when they reopened the case was never revealed as he begged them not to say anything public. It used to be said he and Wagner had an affair as Wagner was publicly interested in men his entire life.

WTH? I never thought of that angle. RJ and Chris Walken? I love Chris Walken. He was so beautiful when young. And a great actor. I was mesmerized by him in The Deer Hunter, when he won the Oscar. RJ may have been really cute, and he's hilarious as Number Two in Austin Powers, but his acting is fair to middling. I could see RJ being jealous and resentful because he is not as good an actor as Natalie and Chris. I don't think Chris is a meddler by nature.

Sorry that dinghy story doesn't sound quite right, she would call for the deck hands to tie the dinghy. I don't believe she would have untied and tide that dinghy herself. Plus the deckhand said that Natalie and RJ had a huge row and things breaking and smashing in their quarters. Whatever happened though it's sad that she's not around anymore.
I recently watched Natalie in The Green Promise [1948]. I heard that her first experience where her fear of water emerged, was during a flooding scene filmed in that movie. She was such a beautiful young girl & a very gifted child actress, as well as an adult. Thank you for explaining her perspective at the end. I do not believe that Robert Wagner would do anything to harm the woman that he loved...

The accident on the bridge in The Green Promise caused an injury to her wrist that never healed right. Ever after, Natalie wore bracelets to hide it.

😭😥 Splendor In The Grass has had me crying my eyes out ever since I first saw it when I was sixteen. That was about 45 years ago. I blubbered to my mother that I just knew my life would play out tragically like that story. I don't care how young Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty were, they both should have gotten Best Actor Oscars! Another great movie directed by Elia Kazan.
I know you said Elia Kazan harassed Vivien Leigh on the set of Streetcar Named Desire. I don't know what the back story is on that particular film, but Elia Kazan has directed some of the best ever films.

Wow. This was wonderful. I've been a fan of Natalie's my whole life. I rewatch "Miracle on 34th Street", "Love with the Proper Stranger", "Inside Daisy Clover", and of course, "Splendor in the Grass" every chance I get. "From Here to Eternity" isn't shown very often and I wonder if it's because it's compared with the original movie version -- you know how that goes...

I loved the positive frame of Natalie Wood’s life as an actress and a person in your telling of her story. I never wanted to believe her husband did it. It’s a tragedy. And your right about the danger of the water, I almost died after being in a boating accident because the other boat did not have lights on late at night and we collided. My head hit the side of the boat and I was knocked unconscious. Had I gone overboard I would have been dead. Accidents happen.

I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s . I adored Natalie Wood and thought she was the most beautiful woman ever. The movie Gypsy was my favorite. She was amazing. I was so sad when she passed
Well but the autopsy reports show that Natalie had a full bladder which does not happen if you are “ struggling to survive in the ocean “… this is the first thing the body will do .

Her Gypsy Rose role proves she's definitely not a singer but having a stage mom in real life, along with her natural charm, made her perfect for this role. Fun fact, psychotherapy is still called psychotherapy. (Meaning psychological therapy vs physical therapy, speech therapy, and so on)

I never believed the x con captain on. He changed his story so many times, he will always be very suspicious to me. That being said, Lana obviously was a drinker and I think cappy ton tbefriended her. It was obvious she was a lonely person with her bff the bottle. I don’t want to talk evil of her as she tried acting and was pretty good.
The mother was Iill and that’s where the vicious cycle start. I was a little concerned when u said Dean died before the end of RWAC. I believe he died before he finished filming Giant with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. I remember cause they had to finish last scene and they used a double, took his words from other lines and pieced together what they could to finish his lines in the banquet scene where he was accepting an award. They literaly ended up having the stand in pass out in his food . I wrote this in the dark so sorry if it doesn’t make sense. ( corrected)

Actually, she did not drown! The autopsy showed no water in her lungs which means she was dead before she went into the water. Autopsy proves it wasn’t a technical drowning!
Natalie was sixteen, but she had the mind and maturity of a woman---with the proof being what she socially engineered as a young woman. It's wrong to project one's insecurities and limitations onto another person who clearly had a mind of her own. RJ was 'closer to her own age,' but things didn't twice turn out so well. To an objective person, it would seem that the quality of the relationship matters more than the age or is what matters period despite prejudices of society.
Incorrect she was found at 7:30 am not 11am. Wagner refused to turn on the searchlight he refused to contact the coastguard immediately and he refused to identify her body. No accident in my opinion dosent make any sense whatsoever.

My parents lived on a boat when I was a kid, ain’t no way that lady was about to go starting up a dingy engine on her own it’s harder than you’d think. She wasn’t that type of lady. She was always a passenger never someone to get involved with the workings of boats etc. Also, if she had slipped into the water don’t you think she would of shouted for help?! She could of been unconscious before going into the water. Too many inconsistencies for it to just be an accident. Natalie deserves the truth to be out 💗
