The lyrics say “Let’s not cry. After all, life is a carnival. Its more beautiful to live your life singing.” It’s about being optimistic in life, having fun and enjoying it. The joyful moments of my childhood all involve Celia ❤️❤️❤️
she was 73 here and getting sick, I’d like for you to look for songs when she was in her between the ages of 40-70 years of age it was when her voice was in its best prime
She was still not getting sick, she got sick in 2002 when they discovered a nodule in her breast and then it metastasized to her brain, but this was in 1999 and she did not have any
Celia Cruz was something else, she published banger after banger since the 1940's, and she blew the place with this song as her comeback, not even Cher could make such a comeback
Really nice! I love Celia Cruz. Her voice is unique. I really like that you react to Spanish singing artists. I would love to hear your input in Mercedes Sosa's rendition of Alfonsina y El Mar.
Amazing song, and just in case you don't understand what is she singing about, She sings about life being like a carnival, it has her up and downs but let's not cry as life is beautiful if you live it singing
Sabía que Celia nunca supo que significa Quimbara por qué días antes que salga el LP falleció el compositor de la canción y nunca se lo pudo preguntar .
Que buena manera de despertar, muchas gracias por las reacciones, un abrazo desde Perú. Good way to wake up, thanks for the reactions, a hug from Perú 🇵🇪❤️
Love your video, Celia is a big representative of the caribbean music, and she always sang about learning how to be happy, and enjoying the life because with music life is more beautiful. Great to see you enjoying her greatness.
8:35 I see you have the rhythm, pretty sure you can dance salsa music really well. Thanks for this reaction, Celia was and will always be the Salsa's Queen. Greetings from Perú!
You have to look up La Lupe “Que te pedí” she’s another Cuban singer that’s known as the Queen of Latin soul. An incredibly unique and powerful voice, you will love her
The thing about my queen doña Cruz... she uses her voice... uses her voice as a percussive instrument. those punches you talk of pre chorus those would be played by a percussive instruments in traditional cuban Son. this isn’t a great song to exemplify that but if you listen to “Bemba Colora” its there. Shes a genius. I love her
had Bemba Colora on repeat for the entirety of 2021! Both the studio version and her Fania All Stars live performance. The most incredible vocal hooks!!
This is such an inspiring song. She is singing about like a carnival and that we will have hard and good times but there will always be someone next to us. “There is not reason ti cry. Our lain will go away is we sing”.
I’m Cuban like Celia Cruz was and I am so glad to be able to enjoy her music even though she passed away. She was an amazing singer. I love when she used to sing soft songs like “boleros”
First time watching your videos and I've noticed that most latin american singers sing to life, its sorrows also, that's how to get that emotion but also its beauty and maybe that's why audiences are so active. From the salsa dancers here to the rock audiences in Argentina
Thank you for that Beth it was wonderful. If you could, check put some of her stuff when she was in her 20’s. The group she was with, Sonara Matanzera “ Pinal del Río “ ........wow
You should know that in this presentation she was VERY SICK, she died of cancer soon after this. I think that if you find an earlier version of this song you will be very impressed by her. She was an amazing singer and performer. She invented herself through out so manuy years by diversifying her style
Why would anyone put thumbs down?!?! That blows my mind away! Love the reactions and educated comments Beth makes. I’ve learned a lot about music because of her. Have you heard Jenni Rivera - Paloma Negra (en vivo desde Monterrey)?
So i love this song, i grew up with it and with music like this, you mentioned not really knowing what shes saying, the chorus is "oh, dont cry. Life is a carnival, that is more beautiful to live singing" carnaval lyrics translate to either carnival or party, depending on the context, and dont cry also sort of translates to "you dont have to cry" this song always felt like the song a mother or grandmother would sing to an upset child to calm them, at least the lyrics feel that way to me
SALSA STARTED IN THE BRONX BY PUERTORRICANS AND IS A MIXED OF CUBAN RHYTMS AND PUERTO RICO AS WELL. NOW TRY "LA LUPE" QUEEN OF LATIN SOUL FROM CUBA TOO. CELIA AND LA LUPE GREAT VOICES FROM CUBA.
Her unforgettable slogan: "AZÚCAAAA..." ❤️
You missed an R :)
