EDIT 4/25: The OUTPOURING of genuine, heartfelt support has been incredibly humbling. I was told after the baptism that LDS provides an instant family, and that turned out to be so true on a much wider, global scale. Thank you everyone.
    ---
Very raw in this one. Let me know your thoughts in this new chapter, would be glad to hear.
One thing I didn't address is the future of the channel. I do hope to visit various churches in the future while diving into LDS, though will need to be very strategic and wouldn't plan to be 52 consecutive weeks. Travel, expenses, and time would be too much. I'll address further in the future.

I saw this coming as a sincere seeker of truth in your videos. It was a vlog, but you were listening to the spirit. Following his direction. Welcome brother. A warning, the adversary will come at you hard in the next 30 days. It will quite possibly be the toughest in your life. You will lose friends, those closest to you will turn their back on you. Look at the conversion story of Al Fox. It will end. Much love, your brother.

I started reading the Book of Mormon with a glass of wine in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. I went from atheist to Baptism in 3 weeks. That was 48 years ago and I never regretted it for one second. It was the best decision of my life. I'll be praying for you. Stay strong and keep your covenants. Satan will never give up on you - but neither will our Savior!

My father i remember being in Grantsville Utah. And my father had been to many churches trying to find one that suited us. But when my father asked his questions about what do we believe. Three questions . Where did we come from? Where do we go when we die? And where did the Indians come.from ? And don't tell me the bearing straight. That is a crock. Wow we were asked.to leave so many churches, and thrown out of two I remember. Even got accused of being Mormons, and we didn't even know what they were other than they had more than one wife. Then the missionaries came along and talked to my mother first. And so she grabbed dad after work, he worked two jobs. And she said I want you to listen to these women missionaries. He wasn't fond of the idea. But for her and us me and my brother , he agreed. They answered all his questions and more. We joined not long after . I've now been a member 55 years. I joined at the age of ten. But what's really funny. My faith has actually been more increased now than before. Because I have really been researching the church, because of doubts that were incroaching in my mind. And I prayed before hand , and they have all not only been answered. But made so much sense.

@@timmiestabrnak it would not be, and this isn't. This is an organization that, even in a secular sense, provides a wonderful example of humanitarian aid and service. Not just in exploited, disaster struck, or less developed areas, but in social ones as well. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day day Saints does not condone lifestyles and life choices that will bring sorrow to one's self or others and push themselves a way from God, and it certainly does not condone the persecution of people who make such choices or of any person at all. Individual church members have certainly been guilty of these things, but the Church of Jesus Christ has always taught compassion, empathy, love to others. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has even actively supported groups that people might think it would openly oppose, such as making sizable donations to groups that seek to end persecution of the LGTB community. The world will see what it wishes, imperfect people will behave imperfectly, and the adversary will try to twist whatever he can to his own means, but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Jesus Christ on Earth. I know that He works through us when we let Him, and that through Him all wrongs will eventually be made right. I will not argue with you and invite contention. These are things that I know to be true, and if you, or anyone else, honestly and sincerely seek truth, you can know that they are true too.

@danielclingen34 Anyone who has done a fair and balanced search of the history of our church can see that those accusations against our church are patently false. Clearly your idea of objective research is to find the opinions that match your own prejudices and ignore all other evidences. Your research has not been anywhere near extensive.
David has made his decision to be baptized after many months of a serious investigation into the LDS church. He actually read the Book of Mormon and not a few verses here and there in an anti-LDS context. He attended church services numerous times and talked without countless members. He attended General Conference in person. He visited multiple temples. He visited MANY OTHER churches as well.
He asked God Himself in all sincerity what He wanted him to do.
Have you asked God how He feels about the way you throw your support behind the opinions of the mobs who murdered, raped, and pillaged early Saints because they were abolitionists?
David's opinion holds a whole lot more water than yours because he put in the effort to gain knowledge. You are only parroting others' mental laziness.

I went to different churches (never the LDS church) and synagogues. My mother who passed away came to me in a dream and said, Follow them and 2 missionaries were in my dream. Later in the week, I had a flat tire while hitting a pothole a block from the tire shop. As I pulled into a used tire shop, I saw the 2 missionaries. You realize of course after every Sunday service, mormons desecrate Jesus Christ when the freshly blessed 'left over' bread and water, symbol of the Jesus's body and blood, is unceremoniously thrown into the trash and poured down the sewer.

Some of my family doesn’t like the church, some of my Protestant friends have been urging me not to become a members (there’s nothing wrong with being Protestant- their concern comes from a place of love), and of course I’ve seen people online who don’t like the church, but I can confidently say I am 100% committed. I intend to be baptized myself as soon as possible. Thank you so much for sharing your story, David. Most investigators who join the church simply do not understand what the church teaches and what Jesus Christ taught and what the immense differences are in theology.
In a nutshell, Jesus Christ is a Savior because He gives "eternal life" to all who believe on Him. He says this again and again (John 3:36, 5:24, 6:47, etc).
The "Jesus Christ" in LDS theology does not give eternal life to all who believe. He is merely a facilitator who helps you get eternal life (allegedly). Look it up! I recommend True To The Faith, then go to Salvation and read about LDS "eternal life".
There's so many more differences in LDS theology and what Jesus Christ taught, but this example should be sufficient. 99% of all members and missionaries will tell you "We have eternal life too!" but when pressed, they will admit they do not, nor can they because their church teaches the opposite - that no one can have "eternal life" during mortality.
Don't be fooled by the polished brochures and warm feelings.

God bless you my friend. My wife was Catholic when she investigated the church. I was already a member and never pushed her into joining. After talking to the missionaries, she was reading the book of Mormon, and had prayed several times to know if it was true, and nothing had come, she asked me why I said just keep reading and keep praying, the Lord wants to know if you are your sincere, one night I woke up and she wasn’t in bed. It was about 4 AM. I walked out into the living room and she had the Book of Mormon in her hands with tears streaming down her face, I said, honey, are you OK? She looked up to me and said “I got it, I got it” she said as she was reading the end of second Nephi, The spirit came over her so strong, and she was filled with such great peace, that she could not withhold her tears, she said “I now know for myself that the Book of Mormon is true“ She has been a solid member of the church for 25 years now, and tells me all the time after coming back from a temple session that it was the greatest thing that had ever done in her life, and is so grateful for the Holy Ghost telling her on that early morning, that the book of Mormon was true. She had been in three other churches, and had found the most peace to that point in the Catholic Church, but as she entered the waters of baptism, again with tears streaming down her face, she told me that she had finally received a fullness of the Gospel. God bless you my friend, don’t listen to the naysayers, most just left the church because they didn’t want to live the commandments, so they turn against it. I can’t wait to see your video after you go through the temple, (of your feelings about it) As I’ve watched you through this entire journey, I had a feeling in my heart that this would be the conclusion. To all others that have followed this good man, and are not LDS. I encourage you to call the church or go the the official LDS website and get a free copy of the Book of Mormon, it will change your life, if you read it with an open heart, truly believing that God will manifest the truth of it unto you, as is promised in the Book of Mormon, you will be as glad as the rest of us that you did. God bless you all.

I can only imagine the blessings and comfort and strength you will have added to your life because you have found our Savior's full truth and all the blessings that He wants to give you. Please contribute to read and share The Book of Mormon every day or add often as you can. I was baptized at age 28 into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The key was that after three years of investigation, after I had looked for answers to my questions about life after death without looking for a church, I finally prayed in earnest. I had an experience I’d not had before. I received personal revelation from the Holy Ghost. The unmistakable communication was that the church and all things pertaining to it were true. I then resolved to repent and do all the things I needed to do to be a Latter-day Saint. Now I’m 72, almost 73. I have remained an active member and have done a good deal of temple work in behalf of my family dead. You have done the right thing.

He at first regretted coming in contact with the Book of Mormon because he knew it was true, and he was forced to choose between 1) ignoring the truth and retaining his prosperous position, or 2) accepting the truth and being pushed out. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; I was baptized on March 12, 1982, a few days after my 17th birthday. Like you have been doing with your 52 Churches in 52 Weeks, I had been checking out and reading about all the churches and religions I could find, but I had never heard of the "Mormons" other than Donny & Marie. Then one day in late February 1982, I answered the phone. When the guy on the line said he was a missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of blah blah blah blah (I didn't catch the last part!), then followed up with "The Mormons", I was in shock. Mormons were Christian??? I talked with the missionaries for about 90 minutes, then made an appt to meet with them. Long story short, during the first appointment when one of the missionaries started to explain about the Book of Mormon, I asked, "Can this be true?" The same question I had asked about every other religion I had explored. And for the first time, I received an answer. It was the most profound experience of my life. The light and love and understanding I was filled with I can still remember as if it was yesterday. Being baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the best decision I ever made. Regardless of the highs and lows of my life, losing all my friends, having my father tell me I was going to hell if I didn't come back to the Catholic Church (my mother was awesome and totally supportive, as were my siblings) that witness and subsequent ones have kept me from sinking. 42 years and counting! Congratulations on your baptism!

You are singing to the choir where I am concerned.
I was in the US Navy, visiting every church that I could find.
I, too, was searching for the truth.
I was aboard a ship, the USS Acadia, AD 42, and attending the Catholic services. My boyfriend then introduced me to the LDS Lay leader aboard the ship.
At first I was intrigued, because the ship's chaplain usually conducts all the religious services aboard ship.
Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Jewish, even Muslim services were services the Chaplain conducted. He'd do this every Sunday, except for the Muslims and the 7th Day Adventists, both of which were done on Saturday.
All services were conducted by the Chaplain, EXCEPT for the services for the Mormons. (We're now called members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.)
I asked the guy who was conducting the services for the Mormons WHY the chaplain couldn't conduct Mormon services.
He said it was because the Chaplain didn't hold the correct priesthood.
My curiosity was really on high alert now. I had to know more.
I kept meeting this LDS lay leader.
I would ask my questions, and he would answer, but he didn't give his own opinions. He was opening his scriptures and say, "Well, we read here in 3 Nephi 10 ..." or he'd say, "We read here in the Doctrine and Covenants Section ...". He wasn't using his own opinions. He was quoting scriptures.
And he was making sense. He was making logical sense.
He never frowned on my questions. I never asked a question he was unable to answer.
Eventually, when we got back to our Home Port in San Diego, he invited me to attend church with him and his wife and family. I started going.
I was going to my Catholic church, but I was also attending LDS Services with my new friend and his family.
Soon I stopped going to Catholic services altogether.
    I was baptized on June 24, 1984.
I've been a member ever since.
Why? Because I found the truth! I needed to know who God was, who His Son was, who I was in relation to them, and basically what this life is all about.
    I've found the truth.
    My questions are answered.
I hope you find all your answers, my friend, and I hope I get to meet you someday.

David, when I was on my mission to Italy, there was a young Italian man in his early 20s, who was studying to be a Catholic Priest. He talked to the missionaries because most of them were Americans and he spoke seven languages (!), including English very well (most Italians don't know any English). He first spoke with the American missionaries to try to sway them to Catholicism, but it turned out that they touched his heart and he began taking the LDS discussions with the missionaries, in order to explore the church, to see if it held the truth that he had sought his whole life. At one point, he struggled to accept the need for a current prophet and 12 apostles. So, one day he fervently prayed, alone against his bed on his knees, for God to show him that to have 12 apostles is necessary in this life; in this modern day life. Well, soon after that, a nurse called him and asked him if they could change his doctor's visit that day to noon (12 o'clock). He accepted the change, and then eventually drove to his doctor's office. He had to park along a busy street, and after much searching for a parking space, he finally saw one open up. He hurriedly got his car into the parking space. He walked over to the parking meter and saw that there was still 12 minutes left on the meter. "Hmmm. Twelve minutes." he pondered. Then he noticed that the parking meter number was number 12. He walked into the doctor's office and went up to the reception desk to check in. He gave his name, etc., and the nurse looked at her watch, and said, "wow, you're 12 minutes early...." He was eventually baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (La Chiesa di Gesu' Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni, in Italian). He went on to help find and baptize more converts than any other member had, in the entire northern Italy mission since his conversion. At the age of 25, he was called on a mission to the Polish speaking Chicago, IL mission (Polish was one of the seven languages that he spoke, including Italian, English, French, Spanish, German and Russian). So David. Just know that God speaks to his people in different ways. Some get brief visits of rare birds, some get numbers put before their eyes until the answer sinks in. You know that God works in mysterious ways. It has been a most-enjoyable ride to watch your search of multiple churches and then to fall into the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the LDS faith. Your journey is similar to what I saw on my mission. There are a lot of "curious" people in the world, who just want to know more about the church, but don't want to convert, until they do. It is VERY common for the devil to tempt those and create problems for those who are close to full conversion in the gospel. I saw it many times on my mission. I'm so glad that you stuck to it and recognized the Holy Spirit's witness to you, along with the many fruits of the church. If you haven't done it yet, you should watch several You Tube videos called "World Report" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They show the world the unfathomable efforts of the Church to reach out to those in need, world-wide, of all faiths and backgrounds. They are shown online and on TV with each General Conference (between sessions). They give you a good glimpse of how the church helps all mankind in need with what resources it has. God bless you David. I'm so proud of you for finding your LDS family who have embraced you with open arms!

I was baptized on April 7th and confirmed on April 14th into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after roughly 5 years, line upon line and precept upon precept gaining my own testimony that the Book of Mormon is of God, that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration, and that Russell M Nelson is a living prophet. The doctrinal soundness of Christ's restored Church is truly what has convinced me that its true. "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." What an exciting verse of scripture! Heavenly Father's plan of salvation is glorious and I thank Him through His Son, even Jesus Christ! Amen❤

For spiritual matters, I need truth that is endorsed by God. Every time I've done a deeper dive into history and doctrine and any related topic, I've found that the detractors were willing to accept bad data and conclusions. Since I learned many things from the age of 8, the spirit always confirmed to me it was true. I have been so blessed by faithfulness & studying the scriptures my whole life. You will have many more faithful members supporting you than those in the world who will criticize. Bless you. This is the only church whose teachings include all of God's children. You realize of course after every Sunday service, mormons desecrate Jesus Christ when the freshly blessed 'left over' bread and water, symbol of the Jesus's body and blood, is unceremoniously thrown into the trash and poured down the sewer.
So, if you think desecrating Jesus, even symbolically, is the right thing to do, then the LDS church is definitely the church for both of you.

Thank you so much for sharing your conversion story with us. When I was little (in the 1970's) my mom would take all 4 of her girls (me included) to church. It was called "NEW HOPE".
Our little congregation & church didn't have a lot of money & we didn't have a building to meet in. So the Pastor would rent a drive-in movie theater property on Sundays. He'd stand on top of the Snackbar Building preaching with a microphone that would send out his voice to all of us in our cars when we would attach the drive-in speaker at our car window.
I remember it so clearly! Sometimes we were still in our pjs, sometimes in dresses. Mom just knew we needed to hear the word of the Lord. On Christmas & Easter the church would gather up enough money to rent a church on those Sundays because they were such special days! Our dad usually came to church on these special days with the family but not on the others. He was a heavy drinker & smoker. And he had other things to do on Sundays.
I always knew he loved us, but he didn't attend church very often.
My mom would also have people in the summer times come teach us girls about the Bible on our front lawn on a blanket. It was called
"Bible Study". My mom through all her hard work to get us to church brought us girls (my sisters & I) to Jesus Christ!!!
Then when I was in my 8th year of age my dad joined "A" church. He didn't drink or smoke anymore. He was kinder to all of us. He was HAPPY!!!
It was close to Easter when he's joined this church. I remember because our Pastor rented a church for us to meet in on that Sunday.
During the Pastors sermon he asked my mom to stand up. He asked that everyone pray for this woman & her family because her husband had joined a most abominable church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints).
I remember as an 8 year old little girl looking up at my mom standing there in front of the congregation. I kept thinking to myself & shaking my head, "How is it abominable when my dad has completely changed his life, his bad habits, his countenance has even changed. He is happier & smiling all the time. His walk even seemed a little bit lighter.
Months later my mom agreed to listen to the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. When she learned that those who die without ever having the chance to learn about Jesus & be baptized (example: like people who live on the islands of the sea) they DON'T go to Hell. (A question she had since she was a little girl and could never get an answer from her religious leaders). Those people will and are being taught on the other side of the veil about Jesus Christ! And also little children don't go to Hell if they haven't been baptized. They are PERFECT IN CHRIST!!!
She and we 4 girls were Baptized into the church in August just after my 9th Birthday in 1977.
Our family has been so blessed all these years!!! My parents have been Wonderful missionaries since being baptized, wanting ALL to come into Jesus Christ!
We did encounter family members ridicule us when joining the church. Satan doesn't want us to be happy and come to Jesus.
Relatives wouldn't come to many things that were major life events for us. One Aunt would take us 4 girls aside and have us watch Anti-Mormon things at her home.
My dad when he learned about this became so upset. But what he did instead of not letting us see our family was to give her The Book of Mormon to read and other good faith affirming books. My Auntie that showed us the anti- Mormon stuff ended up joining the church years later when she was ready. She is so happy & her countenance & Spirit about her has changed for the better!
We will always have the naysayers in our lives that try bash our testimony of Joseph Smith being the Prophet of the restoration. Our try and keep us from receiving that Testimony. Or trying to destroy our Testimony of The Book Of Mormon. And tell us that the spirit we having been feeling that has born witness to us of truth isn't real.
But in the end all that
    matters is
"Our Testimony of Our Heavenly Father & His Son Jesus Christ, that He IS The Savior of the World", "Our Testimony of The Holy Bible", "Our Testimony of The Book of Mormon", "Our Testimony of the Holy Spirit, Our Testimony of & when the Spirit speaks Truth To us", "Our Testimony that Prophets and Apostles help lead Jesus Christ's Church through HIM" today. And so much more!!!
    This is what I know,
My Mom brought us girls to Christ! And my dad, through the Holy Spirit & the missionaries teaching him by the spirit, brought our Whole Family to His Restored Gospel. I can see clearly how much you LOVE THE LORD! He is VERY mindful of you & sends you those "Tender Mercies"(cardinals) that you understand. God Bless You!!!

I assume you also felt how good the gospel of the LDS message is. I shocked myself to hear the sentence “I joined the LDS church” … BUT! My heart felt so consoled with the conversion.
I hope you are able to focus on the feeling you experience as you continue on this journey as a new member.
I had many issues with me family. My bishop’s wife said this very calming statement to me and it helps me with my friends and family that don’t approve “they will see the fruits the way you experienced the fruits. It takes time.” It gave me the permission that I didn’t have to argue with them, nor do I have to defend myself. Christ lead me to this and was centered in this whole journey.

I grew up Baptist and joined the Church almost 30 years ago for some of the very reasons you mention here. As I watched your 52 church vlogs, I was so excited to see your humility and thirst for truth. The thing that impressed me the most about you is your spiritual gift of being able to discern spirits. You were able to differentiate between the good fruit and the bad. I can tell you are close to the Holy Spirit. One of the things that so impressed me about the Church when I was investigating 30 years ago was the fruits of the members. And by their fruits ye shall know them. When others in my circle of influence were condemning the LDS faith, I kept coming back to the fact that the members seemed to exemplify Christ (on the whole) more so than any other church I had attended. I hope you will record those feelings you have had and the way Heavenly Father reaches out to you with cardinals, so when you do have doubts (and you will), you can refer back to those anchor points and continue to hold on. Thank you so much for reminding me of why I first joined the Church so many years ago. I pray that your journey will continue on a positive trajectory, and I hope we get to see you continue on the covenant path.

My son is serving a mission in Uruguay and when I told him you had been baptized he said he already knew! A member in Uruguay had already told him! People are definitely paying attention! We are excited to see a brother join in that which is most precious, and watching your journey in almost real time was amazing. It has been a boost to my own testimony, I felt the Spirit over and over and was brought to tears with your experiences. There really is so much more fruit ahead! As symbolically minded as you are, you'll be well fed your whole life by what you'll discover in the depth and breadth of the restored Gospel. Your Heavenly Father loves you! God bless you on your journey.

An anscestor of mine joined the Church in 1833 as a single man and the only one of his family to do so. In fact, he was disowned by family members and eventually lost all contact with them.
Today there are certainly dozens if not hundreds of Church members as a result. Despite that, I consider myself an adult convert, since faith and belief are not always a matter of genetics.
Faith is personal and something I don't even share with my wife.
Good luck and best wishes. You aren't alone even though it may feel that way.

I have enjoyed reading the conversion comments on here. My daughter and I converted 2 years ago. I was raised in the LDS but was never baptized due to mix religion of my parents but I still went. One day in high school I said it wasnt for me anymore. I am 56 and 2 years ago decided it was time to go back and make it official. I had talked with friends and had said I think I am going to go back to church but I didn’t act on it but I knew something was missing. My daughter was raised Catholic as my husband is Catholic but she went to different LDS activities and camps when she was younger. Fast forward to 2 years ago and missionaries coming up our driveway. She knew I liked talking with them and was always wondering why they didn’t come to our house. She invited them to come back when I was home. After her listening to them and praying on it and also receiving so many signs and coincidences that were undeniable and meeting people in our ward who were so warm and accepting (she has many tattoos and was worried about how people would react to her), she said she wanted to be baptized,so we both were baptized on the same day. She has done a 180 turnaround and just yesterday was a volunteer at the Layton temple open house. It was so good for us and it was what was missing in my life and after all the years, it was worth the wait for me to make that decision for myself.

I used to live life on the edge, always chasing the next thrill with alcohol, drugs, and partying. Religion was not the last thing on my mind-I didn't believe in it, and I didn't see the point.
Then, one day, I ran into two young guys wearing black nametag on the street who greeted me with kindness. They turned out to be Mormon missionaries, and they asked if I wanted to learn about their faith. (In my mind, I didn't believe this sh*t).
At first, I brushed them off, thinking it wasn't for me. But they were persistent, and I found myself listening to what they had to say. Something about their message resonated with me-it was about finding purpose and peace, things I was missing in my wild lifestyle.
As I got to know more about the LDS Church, I realized I wanted that sense of purpose too. So, I decided to give it a shot and got baptized.
It wasn't some grand epiphany or dramatic change overnight. But gradually, I found myself feeling more fulfilled and grounded. My new faith gave me a sense of direction and community that I'd been missing.
Now, I'm still me, but I've traded the chaos for a more meaningful life. And it all started with a simple encounter on the street with two guys who cared enough to share their beliefs with me.

Hi David: I just wanted to let you know that your conversion story is honest and beautiful. I'm one of countless LDS church members that even though I was raised in the church, still had to be converted unto Christ. I echo your own message and gently yet firmly say to you: the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is true. It is the fully restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today. It is the only religion authored by Christ for mankind that contains the true gospel of Jesus Christ along with the Christ -ordained power of both Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods and their keys to be exercised for the sealing and saving ordinances of eternity here on earth and in the Heavens. You are a divine child of God and have a divine mission to perform during your life, as each of us do, provided we take His yoke upon us and follow Him. You're right; it's not the easy path, and it may be fraught with thorns. But the promises of eternity are great. And God IS a God of miracles, for He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. And those who know Him and hear His voice will sacrifice all to "come follow me." Speak no more nor less than faith and repentance on the name of Jesus Christ. His message is simple and clear. "For he who preacheth more or less than this is not of me." "For by their works ye shall know them." Go forth with faith and miracles shall follow them that believe on my name. You have witnessed signs and wonders on your journey and will continue to be guided on your daily walk. Listen and live so that the Holy Ghost can dwell with you and be your guide. For the Spirit will show you all things what ye shall do. Search the scriptures daily and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand and give thee answers to thy prayers. For the prayer of a righteous man availath much. Blessings of peace and comfort to you for sharing your story. Have courage and go forth: be not weary in well-doing. For you are storing up treasures in heaven and are a light, by your testimony, unto many. I so testify in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

My story is very much like yours. My whole family- my parents my siblings, and I- were practicing Baptists. We were introduced to the LDS Church by a friend of the family who had something very special about him that we couldn’t readily identify, but that we recognized later as the spirit of God. It was incredibly alluring to us. As we became more familiar with him, his family, the missionaries, and other church members, we saw and we felt this special spirit and the genuine love that practically lept from their countenances. All 5 of us couldn’t deny the Spirit of God that we had felt while we visited the LDS church, studied the scriptures, and worshipped God with these great people. Now, some 40 years later, I can personally testify that this church has had such an enormous impact for good in not only our 5 lives, but for our respective families as well. This church has brought us all so much closer to Christ than we would ever have been had we remained where we were at the time. In retrospect, that’s the great irony of this whole experience. The one thing the Baptists and Protestants used as scare tactics to keep us from joining the church, is the one thing that I can most attest to about the Church… they told us that the ‘Mormons’ would provide us with a godless existence, when in reality, the LDS church has drawn us all closer to Christ, making him The central figure in our lives. Congratulations brother.

“We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. These are incomprehensible ideas to some, but they are simple. It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did, and I will show it from the Bible” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp.345-346. Italics in original).
I'm not trying to be combative but, can you defend this comment from your prophet Joseph Smith, with regards to the God of the Bible's eternal being, being always and eternally the one true God?
-Psalm 90:2 "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God".
-John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

@@leonardosanto7659 another typical Mormon response, and dubious attempt at emotional manipulation. Which makes perfect sense, as Mormonism relies solely on tricking people emotionally into ignoring glaringly false doctrine, by promising them things like “the fullest truth” or “becoming god” or simply stating that anyone who disagrees with you is hateful, lost, or otherwise.
There certainly are people who want to hear about “my thoughts” which is a funny way of describing this, as I’m just quoting directly from Gospel. The people who want to hear are the lost sheep of the shepherd, Jesus Christ. You can continue to associate and defend the goats, along with Mormonism, but don’t be surprised when one day you hear Jesus Christ say plainly “depart from me, I never knew you”

@@MS-pw6jxactually, unfortunately you are misinformed. It’s so sad. The Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ is glorious and gathering in so many people with humble seeking hearts, to our Lord Jesus Christ.
My husband converted after reading the Book of Mormon to prove it wrong and had a very special experience.
He was rabid anti-church, but ended up seeking out the missionaries to be baptized… WHY? Because he said reading The Book of Mormon brought him closer to Jesus Christ than any thing else besides the Holy Bible that he’s ever encountered. He said he felt the love of Christ surge through him and rest upon him in a witness of Christ’s love and care. It changed him. It change d the way he saw people around him, it helped him overcome an addiction, softened his heart, he desired to be a peacemaker instead of contentious….
Someday maybe you too will be able to push aside the lies you’ve been told and falsehoods you’ve been fed, and the slander mixed with partial truth you’ve believed. It really is next level. Christ is preparing to come, and those with eyes to see are preparing!

I was at the 2023 Book of Mormon Symposium in Independence, Missouri and heard you speak. I was so impressed with your desire to share your personal journey to help people see the good in all churches. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I was absolutely thrilled to find this video. There is so much I would like to share with you, but probably comments on your TH-cam channel should be kept brief. With that in mind, let me just say this. You are correct that Jesus Christ is the Tree. Each of us has a seed that we may choose to plant ourselves. And if we nurture and water and care for that seed of divinity within us (for we are children of God), the seed will grow up in us and we will become more and more like the Savior. I could feel your sadness at the possibility of crucifiers coming after you now that you have been baptized, but just remember that you are following in His way. You have taken Him for your guide. And as long as you keep nurturing your relationship with Him and follow Him, all will be well. I wish you were in Missouri as there is a singles conference this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Liberty Stake Center next to the Kansas City Temple. I will be speaking there on Saturday on the topic of "Thriving Through Revelation." You have had the Holy Ghost conferred upon you and your ability to receive revelation because of this will increase dramatically as you receive that precious gift of the Holy Ghost and seek to be blessed with additional revelation for your life. It only gets better from here, my friend. Keep standing at the tree. And keep partaking of the fruit (the love of God) for it will bless you continually.

My father/hero had a graduate degree from Colorado College in Comparative Religion. He chose to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I feel SO blessed to be a member ♡ I have my own Testimony, and my Forever Family means everything to me. I could not be happier for you, Brother. C.S. Lewis referred to Christianity as a hallway and denominations as rooms. Welcome!

The day before my father died in November 2018, my mother and I were visiting him in a hospital in Salt Lake City. We left my father's room to go down to the cafeteria to get some dinner and went to the elevator. When the doors opened after we called the elevator up, Elder Holland and his wife stepped out of the elevator. It was great to meet him and say hi. It sure lifted my mother's spirits when we knew my father was passing away very soon. Congratulations on your baptism.

Brother - I joined 38 years ago. My family and friends were aghast. I was scared but knew deep down it was right. Still it was a roller coaster ride. Regardless you are just starting on an incredible journey. Your faith is just starting to grow! Be true to yourself and don’t make a big move without praying. Stay strong, be of good cheer and know that Christ is always there for you. Never forget that the adversary is just as real as Christ is. You will see adversity and temptation. Don’t be surprised by the amount of it - the devil doesn’t want you on the path you’re on. Thanks you for the sincere insight into your journey and the wonderful series.
    Stay strong!
    Your brother in Christ,
    Kevin

I converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints too! I always came to the conclusion that this church was so much more aligned with what Christs church was. There’s 12 apostles, a prophet, and they do SO much good in the world. Literally all over the world and I feel that Christa church would be an organized church like this that has people volunteer with no pay to offer themselves to God and their fellow man. Bottom line, as a Christian, I always believed that in order to be saved I just need to accept Jesus as my savior which they do but they put more effort than just that which I believe Christ would realistically expect rather than just saying I accept you and do nothing more. There has to be some line of accountability. Anyways, congrats on your conversion! It has been the best choice of my life!!

Dear Brother Boice, congratulations on your baptism! I had a feeling you were heading in this direction! I was baptized and converted at the age of 18, and have now been active in the LDS Church for 53 years. It was the best decision of my life. I am also an introvert and was Protestant prior to my conversion. I'm so happy for you and pray that you, like me, will never regret your choice to be baptized, and that you will stay an active member. Has my life always been easy and wonderful? No, but becoming a true discipe of Christ does not automatically exclude us from heartaches or grief. Instead it improves and refines us, and we have a better, happier way to endure this bumpy road called earth life. Don't let the negative comments discourage you, or stray into the "anti-mormon" arguments presented in some comments. You are young in your conversion now, but as you live the Gospel day-by-day, and year-by-year, you will grow stronger in your testimony. As you progress you will find you can discern between truth and error more easily. Remember the fruits you mentioned in your conversion video, and the cardinals, and continue on that path towards the Light. The Savior is our perfect example, and while most of us are sincerely trying to be the best humans we can be, we always fall short of perfection-- so have realistic expectations. Immerse yourself in discipleship, and you'll be fine.

I am really excited for you. I was raised a Presbyterian and I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1966 when I was 22. I have never looked back. The first year was like drinking from the Gospel fire hose. In a year you will be able to go to the temple and receive your own endowments and begin drinking from the Temple fire hose. Now that I am 80 years old I can look back with no regrets. My life is full of joyous wonder and deep appreciation of what Jesus Christ has done for me and for the entire human family. God bless you.

I was raised Presbyterian too. At 17, sitting in a juvenile jail cell, my life changed forever. Long story, but words cannot express how grateful I am to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm 60 now.

I had the same type of experience. I didn't try a bunch of different churches, but I did actually watch one of your videos when I was considering joining the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up protestant and it was really scary to come out to friends and family, who mostly assumed I was atheist because I didn't discuss my beliefs. In reality, I envied people who had a strong spiritual relationship with God and were strong in their faith I just felt like I was never going to have that. So I went to a local temple open house by invitation of a friend, and the feeling I got, the spirit I felt, the love and peace and happiness was so profound that I had to know more. I immediately made contact with the local missionaries to learn about the church. I was baptized last August, so I get where you're at now. It's kind of overwhelming. I am also an introvert who didn't like to be touched. Going from that to joining a ward family where everybody hugs was an adjustment. I'm getting used to it and it's not as bad as I would've thought. I just have to say that my experience with this church has been nothing but amazing. The people are such good examples of Christ like traits and attributes. And they really try so hard to love everybody and I feel like that's a message that's missing from so many churches nowadays. The commandment to love your neighbor as you love yourself. I have nothing but the best times at church now. I look forward to Sundays. I've been given a couple of callings and it's just been a great experience. Everyone is always so excited to hear my story. It's been hard to be the center of attention sometimes, but I also realize that by learning someone else's conversion story, those who've been members of the church forever, they get to reaffirm their faith. You don't get to get reaffirmed and understand that you know they're in the right spot. Anyways, I just wanted to say congratulations. Welcome to the family, and I will be praying for you.
