So glad you didn’t hurt yourself. The views today were absolutely epic! The sky was so beautiful. I just can’t explain how magnificent it was to see! I hope you were able to sleep well and it wasn’t too cold. I bet you could cuddle with Leo and he could help. Keep you warm.😊 thank you for those beautiful magnificent wonderful views.😂💗
Great views today and so impressive to do that 3K climb at the end of the day. My initial concern for Leo dropping into that hole was then an LOL after he popped right back up. Go Leo!! And you are now my trailblazer ... Stick had to get off at Crawford Notch for camp, and everyone else I am following in TH-cam is behind you. And since I just started following AT hikers this year, other than Mt Washington (which I took the cog railway up to), the Presidentials and all of Maine will be first seen through you! Thanks, as always, for bringing us along!
Oh man, the views are fabulous. I can't imagine what it's like in person to experience all of it. The unreal scenery, the smells, the cold wind blowing with the sun on your face, the sounds.❤ Oh no, Leo!😮 Where the heck was he going? Lol. He started going the right way, turned back, and fell off trail. Or maybe he meant to do that😂. All these 1000 something miles and only seen Leo fall once. Good job, bud❤ Gorgeous shot of that ridge walk. Omgosh, now you fell. Lol I think when you said you are definitely making it to Katahdin baring any broken bones, you didn't knock on wood so not to jinx yourselves, so as fate does sometimes, it made sure you knocked on wood, or a wood bridge.😂 You're good to go now, shouldn't have any problems. Lol I watch the live cam on Mount Washington once in a while, looks crazy up there, be safe. Crazy to think about over 200 mph winds recorded up there😮 Looks like you had beautiful weather on the trail that day, thats awesome ❤ Big hugs❤️ to Leo and a boop to his cute Fozie bear nose.🐶 Lol✌️🫶
Leo!!! Your so sweet! I can't wait for your AT book tour!! I want to hug Leo!!!💜 You both fell today, so glad you were not hurt. Your getting so close Michael!! Congrats. You guys are my hero's!
Love the homeless story! We were at Disneyland in Jan and there was this clean homeless man with his dog right at the entrance every night. So of course we packed up extra food from our free breakfast in the morning, rented a locker to put it in and then gave it to the Man and his dog every night on our way out.
I once tripped over my cattle dog on a hike here in Scotland, fell like a lump straight into a little (very chilly) stream! First thing i did was pop back up to make sure nobody saw me! Leo played it so cool, like 'What dad? Of course I'm ok.. let's go!". You are both doing so well - I shall miss the daily updates once you finish! God bless you both. ❤
Incredible hike with all those peaks. Well done👏👏👏 your views were stunning. I like the count down at the end. Good luck through the Whites, and God Bless you both. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, just Wow..what beautiful views today. Great idea to show us how close you are to finishing this adventure. Thanks. Leo is such a great hiking buddy..he never complains..just keeps on hiking😊. You both are amazing and are doing a fabulous job even though you "suck at hiking"🤩 See ya tomorrow!
Love that you are counting down the miles! Great motivation! I am cheering at the top of my lungs for you and Leo for pushing through today! The views were absolutely stunning! Thank you for a great adventurous day! .. keep pushing those miles! You are under 400!!!!! …Hike on!
Nice video. It brings back memories of Webster Cliffs, although I climbed in the morning. Good to see the end is near. May God watch over ya in this final stretch.
Thats awsome! I like that idea of letting us know how many miles left! Im getting so excited for you and Leo but i will miss your daily adventures for sure!
Hi Mike and Leo, That must have been last Friday. It was a bluebird day here in central NH. Hope you had fun crossing the Presi's. Can't wait to see you and Leo at the Mt. Washington summit sign. I hope you get views! You're both doing fantastic!!!
I am so excited for your new countdown system !!! Have a friend who is a fair piece behind you and have asked him to do something similar from time to time. I have you marked on my 3 1/2 FOOT vertical AT map and it’s exciting to see where you are. You literally have, on a straight line ruler, about 6 inches to go. Trail wiggles around, but no more or less than it has done the entire time so….. it’s been a true pleasure to follow you your ENTIRE journey and I am sincerely in hopes there’s something else you endeavor to do in the future that we can tagalong with also. I am hoping, probably against hope, that your final video will be as near to real time as you can make it. No doubt it is challenging but a real time video would be amazing.!!!!
Great mileage day Michael. You know you don’t have to try to keep pace with Kristian Morgan Lol! Cool you got to meet him. Webster Cliffs are amazing so glad you got there on a clear day and yes those climbs and technical sections are no joke especially at the end of a 21 mile plus day. You’re fortunate you’re not in the bubble. The tent platforms become jam packed with multiple tents squeezed on them at times!!
Webster Cliff trail is in horrible shape. I just did it a couple weeks ago. It needs some serious maintenance. I had made some markings in the sand/dirt but they are likely gone by now. I know my "NO" did help a few hikers 😂. I talked to a WMNF trail maintenance instructor about it when I did trail maintenance last weekend, but apparently that section falls under AMC. So happy you got some great views!
@@ISuckatHiking agreed!!! It’s bad. I’ll be talking to the AMC about it. Hopefully we can get someone out there to at least mark it. I really wished I had remembered I was carrying marking tape at the time or I would have done it myself. But alas…. I apologize on behalf of NH for our trails. Volunteers are hard to come by. Some trails haven’t been hit in 10 years. Anyway, it’s the worst you’ll run into on the AT in NH. Happy hiking, love following you two!
@@ISuckatHikingi wasnt even sure what that was all about- i thought it was the early access subscribe thingy but i thought i had already done that…. Anyways i did some internet exploring and this is all good and helps you out a little bit more. Now i see you can choose an amount…..
Oh my word!!! so very beautiful. Has that been Leo’s only spill!!! My dog has done that and then looks at me like it’s my fault!! No bridge trippin allowed! lol I hate that Kristian got off trail, I think his knee or ligaments behind his knee. I hate that for him I was watching and cheering for him… but you may already know. I think I read he did do the fastest time from GA to ME!!! 😢 Such a gorgeous day and such a beautiful trail. You are truly blessed. I love knowing where you’re at and how many miles you’ve gone or have to go. That’s a wonderful idea. I track you and 3 others on my map. 5 stack has already finished though. I can’t seem to get anything done after 4 o’clock in the afternoon. I cannot imagine doing what you’re doing in the afternoon. Whew I bet you ARE exhausted. ❤❤❤❤❤
We have all had that hiccup on a rock, bridge, leaf, air and tripped ourselves up. What makes your episode even funnier is that you had just mentioned broken bones!!!🤣After that, your "Let's Go" sounded just like Adam from BeardMeatsFood! Have you been dreaming of huge plates of food that seem impossible to eat, but you do it anyhow in record time? 😆🤫😂 The view at 22:10 and after, pure heaven.😍
My work for stay experience was similar at the Lake of the Clouds hut. I felt very much pitied by the paying gentility with my beat up clothes and equipment as I cleared up tables and swept floors! Hilarious!!!
How often does Leo pick a way up a technical part and you need a different way because he's short? My dog seems to do that a lot. I'm lucky she only weighs 40 pounds for the helping her up parts! Good luck with the Maine weather.
I'm sharing this with my sister in Colorado so she can watch with her goldendoodle. She would like to learn how she can teach him to walk behind her when they're going downhill. Any recommendations?
Do you find that Leo takes the best path up and down the rocky inclines and declines? I’ve been asked when hiking with my dogs if there is “dog logic”. What say you? Thanks for sharing this journey with us!
I'd love your opinion oon how you think a Malinois would handle the technical areas of the AT.....I have a Malinois that's my anaphylaxis alert service dog. I want to hike it BUT I can't do it unless she's with me.

Breathtaking views for sure. I followed Kristian as well and hate to see hamstring caused him to stop at 2,000 miles in. He crushed it to that point.

Who are these “guests” at the hut? Are they the pay-for-stay thru-hikers, or what?
They are pay day hikers
But did you realize you possibly took a work-for-stay spot from someone who really needed it?
@diane4253 there was no bad weather and they are a first come basis
