Interesting idea to use a laser pen, to determine firing arc (10:20), I have not seen that before. Looks like I will be borrowing one of the cat's favorite toys!
Found mine at Harbor Freight Supply store for $5. It works perfectly.
Cat's toy is a dot not a line so no good. No Harbour Frieght supply store in the UK, bu we do have many "cheap stuff" stores and of course there is always on-line.

For the ship designations, what if you put them in two ordered rows where the dice are now (side by side.. you can't see until you pull them out, but because they're in order you'll zoom in on the approx location), and then the dice split into the sides.
My falcon broke immediately too but if you contact fancy flight games they will replace your falcon model and any other model for flying crooked or breaking on first play.
nice vid, man! I have that Plano too... Binders are the best. The 1-sided Plano, I use for tournaments- it can hold 3+ squads plus it holds ALL the misc tokens & pieces. I still need a better way to lug my epic ships, since I have yet to buy the Gozanti & next is Wave8. I may need another double-sided Plano.

I feel you man, day one of opening my Tie Advanced and the plastic base right under the model snapped leaving a piece jammed in... Any ideas how to get that out so I can store it before I decide to perma glue it to a base?
Bit late for this advice (4 months) but: You are probably better off getting a new base, they are sold as packs. What caused the breakage? If it was simply inserting/removing it may be work feeding that information back to FFG. I picked up a Decimator today and the clear plastic lug simply fell out. A simple blob of glue will re-fix my issue however FFG should know about it in case in turns out to be a common problem for that batch.
One tip for you (in case you do not know already) The Tie Advanced is under-powered, especially when piloted by Darth Vader. a two card upgrade can fix this: Tie/x1 plus Advanced Targeting Computer. These cards come with a huge ship upgrade (imperial Raider) and are VERY much in demand. It is hard to get hold of the individual cards and the complete expansion is often resold well over RRP. In the short term i recommend flying the Tie Advanced with virtual cards for friendly games (use a squad builder and print the list with the card's abilities).

I have never seen them in the stores. Its easy enough to order online, and cheap too.

I think I have the 1", but I might recommend the 1 and 1/2" depending on how many cards you have. I own almost 1 of everything for the game right now (minus a few ships) and everything fits in my 1" and I have room to add like 5 more sheets if necessary.
