Top Places To Visit In COORG, MADIKERI I Sightseeing, Local food, Shopping and more

- This video is about top places to visit In Coorg. We travelled to Coorg from Bangalore in the month of October 2020 after the lockdown. Our trip to Coorg was wonderful and on this day we went sightseeing, had some amazing local food, did a little bit of shopping and had good time.
Coorg is a beautiful hill station in Karnataka and this was my third time visiting Coorg however the first sightseeing in Coorg. There are so many place to visit in Coorg, this video covers few places that you can visit if you are around Madikeri or if you are from south of Coorg to the North of Coorg
This is not an exhaustive list of top places to see in Coorg. On this particular day we couldn't visit many places due to the rains and pandemic restrictions.

Budget : There are very many resorts, hotels, hostels in Coorg. You can explore Coorg with a budget as low as Rs 6000 for 3 days.
An Average resort stay would cost you around Rs 4000 to 6000 per night.
Most tourist attractions are free and are open for public.

Autos are available but not all sightseeing places are open. Check on google before you go

Thank you for the videos on Coorg. I hope I could not visit two places viz. Nisarga Dham (source of Kaveri) and Byllakupe (Tibetian settlement around 45 km from Madikeri). I also had lunch in Coorg Cuisine for authentic Coorgi food. Two points to mention (1) You could have indicated the river at Dubbare Elephant Camp is Kaveri and (2) In case of country and state it is called capital but Madikeri is the district headquarters (not capital) of Coorg or Kodagu district. Thanks once again.
COORG or KODAGU is a District. There are many Villages and Towns in KODAGU. There were 3 Taluks in KODAGU District. They are 1. Madikeri Taluk 2. Virajpet Taluk 3. Somwarpet Taluk. Recently Virajpet Taluk was bifurcated into 2 Taluks and Ponnampet Taluk was created. Somwarpet Taluk was bifurcated into 2 Taluks and Kushalnagar Taluk was created. So at present KODAGU has 5 Taluks. Madikeri Taluk, Virajpet Taluk, Somwarpet Taluk, Ponnampet Taluk, Kushalnagar Taluk. The Original Name is KODAGU, Not COORG. KODAVA Not COORGI. COORG and COORGI is an Anglicised Name kept by the Britishers when they ruled India. Even in administration also it is known as KODAGU DISTRICT and Not as COORG DISTRICT.

We stayed at the porcupine castle resort. It’s in the south of Coorg. I recommend south as it is very pretty

We travelled just few days back. I don’t think you can say it’s safe or not with certainty, people are travelling and safety measures are in place.
