maybe the eggs are like super trusting of their master
I think they may be more or less unable to process fear due to how stupid they are, that's just my take on it though.
When I first watched that episode I thought the egg said "you got it boss" in a scared way, but ya rewatching it he isn't bothered by it at all.
He watches his brother's get killed by pentious in the pilot several times. I don't think anything phases him

They love the attention and consider their "work" as an art form. So others not taking him seriously and not showing him respect would irk him.
On a side note, he's cannibalistic and enjoys the cannibal colony. Alastor was probably one life. Which would explain why he has Wendigo-like traits. Along with his death because he was mistaken for a deer.
it’s been stated that alastor used to be a serial killer among other stuff, but apparently he wasn’t going after “just anyone”
serial killer, cannibal, radio host. checks out, dude literally broadcast the screams of his (rather prominent) victims for all of hell to hear. guy's motivation is still a mistery after S1, but he clearly did not lie about inspiration for his work and having fun with others' failures. such an intriguing asshole

@@daokoxd1145 Yeah I've noticed he seems to have about 3 levels of filter to his voice, and some times you can hear a bit of static like some one switching radio stations when he goes from heavily filtered to a more human voice.

I believed that when he speaks without the filter, it means he's being sincere in his tone

It’s actually an animation quirk of this show. There’s entire compilations of different characters doing it. Even the big bad demon( can’t remember his name) with four eyes will blink each one separately. I think the video was called something like frog blinking”

@@grAnita- no ik but this isn't about Alastor, it's about harassment being treated like a joke in a show we have abuse as a main theme. In the pilot NO ONE calls Alastor for that slap, not even Charlie. Something similar happens with Angel dust harassing the staff in the series but he IS called out by Vaggie, and sort of called out by Husker. They were more responsible in the actual show

I started to think about it after the great dad song and the ready for this song where he says about her having power that he could GUIDE, i think that alastor wants to have Charlie as a apprentice who can help him to get him out of his deal
Maybe that's why he felt threatened with Lucifer's presence in the hotel, I COULD BE WRONG THO and probably that's not the truth lol, but even so i would be so interesting to see him showing interest on having charlie by his side like a daughter
True. They have a very unique dynamic. Maybe it’s queer platonic, not quite just friends but not quite romantically involved. Their bond isn’t a traditional one people can give names to, it is just there. The best way I can describe it is just connection . If I describe it as father daughter it feels weird bc bro is so touchy. I can’t describe it as romantic partners because she is taken( by someone he hates at first sight? )It would explain a lot if his kind of love or affection is unique for a reason and up for interpretation. It is what makes Alastor such a compelling character . The audience can only guess what he thinks in his 1930s deer man brain.
when his staff was broken, he spoke unfiltered bc he was caught off guard, some ppl thought that his staff was what was filtering his voice, but that was quickly disproven later in the episode because he had his filter back.

I love the headcanon I have that the few times the radio filter disappears are moments where he’s not “performing”, like his real personality and desires are revealed
He’s also never *not* smiling and I love that about his character, plus it’s impressive that the animation can show such a wide spectrum of emotion on his face when he’s exclusively smiling
i know i've hardly seen anyone mention the range he has on his face despite being so limited. honestly i feel like he's one of the most expressive characters in the show just because he relies so much on eye/facial movements and body mannerisms to convey emotion to the audience, and i really applaud the animators for that

3:07 kills me everytime for some reason. I know the following scene is very serious, but I feel like when it comes to Alastor we get way more of his emotions through his mannerisms then his expression (For obvious reasons) so you can really tell just how pissed he is at Lucifer being here, and being made to feel inferior. Which as we now know from the finale he very much is.

There is the implication that he, at least, considers himself weaker by virtue of his soul being owned by another, rather than just being legitimately weaker. (He probably is weaker but by less than he seems) He obviously is used to hitting way above his current weight class with the way he stepped to Adam. There wasn't any hesitation, he was *certain* he could take the guy and was genuinely confused when he capped out at being mildly irritating even while exploiting what he recognized as all of Adam's weaknesses. So more than even just being inferior Lucifer's presence was playing to his fear that he may *actually* be inferior post whatever deal he's under, and then Adam confirmed it. Hence why he seems pretty manic now. (Probably preaching to the choir though, lol)

Truthfully if not for Alastor I doubt I'd like this show as much as I do.
Alastor makes like almost half of the entire fame for it.
Many people loved him since he first appeared in the pilot episode and now he is even more loved than ever before (for all the wrong reasons mainly I guess but hey)
It's why I don't believe he will just be defeated and done with when he finally goes big bad mode. I think he will be better, not enough for redemption and getting to heaven (doubt he would like the place) but maybe stay and help other sinners get there. Also frees Husk from his bond since he of all people should know what it's like. Not saying he is going to change so much that his character is ruined but just be better than he is currently. He is just too likeable of a character even if bad.

Well if I was to put the main parts is his style as a character, a wedingo-like demon who's also a radio, I find this quite a nice and creative idea of a character, then there is all the mystery behind him, where you can never know what he might be thinking or planning, then there is his psychopathic personality, which funny enough I find myself with a similar personality as well so maybe this is why I am so interested in him, then there is that he is an all powerful edgelord, which I just like alot.
As I said in a previous comment, if anything, I feel alot of respect for this character.

How to partly achive alastors radio filter. Step one, get a plastic bottle. Step two, cut the bottom peice off and slightly cover your mouth with it and talk.
Alastor really got the short end of the stick in the official show,he was creepy yet very nice at first in the pilot and they kinda went away form that which i hated.
I loved his "sans" trope when hes a chill person but is the polar opposite when fucked with.
YEAH EXACTLY !! The pilot will always be the best in my opinion, the colors are much more blended with the outline being faded, a lot more shading was added and the characters had less staticy movements than they did in the show
