When I was homeless I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain was comforting. Didn't know how many times I'd hear the comforting sound of the rain on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. Now I listen in my bed, with my wife. Helps sleep, reminds me of the hard times, makes you value the good times. Much love to anybody who has had to listen to this noise.

00:01 When I was a child, whenever it rained my mum would wake my brother, sister and me up (my dad worked night),turn off all the lights and turn the sofa to face the windows. We would all sit there with hot chocolate and listen to the storm while waiting to see the lightning, we lived on a hill and could see for miles. We all grew up to absolutely love thunderstorms and do similar things with our children. I found out recently that my mum hated them and was terrified but by waking us up and pretending she loved them she found she could cope.

my dad and i do the same thing with a lot of different types of weather. just yesterday, we stood outside for forty minutes and watched a double rainbow form and then fade away. love those moments.

My 3 month old baby struggles to settle at night too...sometimes screaming for hours at a time I feel so helpless but I remembered this and play it to him too and hes to sleep within 10 minutes ! Thank you Charlotte just to let people know l had bladder cancer throat n tongue cancer I had 5 operations 31 days of radiation n 7 sessions of chemotherapy after 18months 0f healing I've gone from 47kilos to 77 kilos I do gym 6days a week n walk 3to5 kilometres a day I'm fit healthy n happy life is to be lived not wasted I'm glad to have a second chance

I don't know why but this makes me extremely happy. I feel comfy, protected and like home. It sounds like a summer evening and the thunderstorm started after a long and hot day. Do you know the smell of fresh after it rains for the first time after a long dry period? My favourite smell and I feel so alive when I can taste this air. During the lockdown I feel very sad and hopeless most of the time. This video has made me feel so happy, I almost forgot how happiness feels like. We only have rain 3 months out of a year, it's sporadic though, we have droughts most of the time. I sit by the river sometimes and just listen to the water flow but nothing beats the falling rain...

It hasn’t rained like this in a while in Britain and I’m missing it. People here are always like “I really hate rain!” And I love it! I think it’s so relaxing and just, nostalgic. I love the rain so much and it lets my hair always curly. Since I was a kid my mother combed my hair with rainwater and I still do it my self, it looks so naturally. The rain makes me relaxed. We need rain now for the animals and nature, please let it rain!!

I don't know why but this makes me extremely happy. I feel comfy, protected and like home. It sounds like a summer evening and the thunderstorm started after a long and hot day. Do you know the smell of fresh after it rains for the first time after a long dry period?
My favourite smell and I feel so alive when I can taste this air.
