Just a heads up that this series puts several lessons behind a paywall (60 euros total for the missing lessons) . if you don't intend on spending the money you will not be able to complete these tutorials from the beginning to the end, just check the playlist for videos that are missing (4, 8, 12, 20, 23, 25, 28, 30, 32). Would be nice of the creator to disclose that from the start as a common courtesy.

Piston skirt is same dimension as the crown? Pistons are barrel shaped for friction reduction and stability; also take on a slight oblong shape to further reduce friction on the pin sides of the piston. Piston/wall clearance is set from center of the skirt. Seems like using a revolve can't replicate these unique factors of piston design...that or this engineer never built a real motor and didn't know these characteristics exist in modern piston design.

**How to change the Y-axis towards up.**
''Just a little tips for all mimickers, I highly recommend you to reorganise your direction of axis which Y axis should be towards up before you start otherwise you may have direction trouble in the future process. This cannot be originally modified later so do it first.
    - See Up-right side corner and click your name
    - Select preference
    - In General menu, find "Default modeling orientation" and change it to "Y up" if it says "Z up"

There are two types of people who use CAD:
People like this guy who make really complex and amazing stuff...
And then there's me, whose job is to drag and drop parts from the Rev Robotics library into an assembly for my school robotics team in order to make a barely-functioning robot.
The skill ceiling of 3D-design software really is astronomically high.

What a brilliant tutorial ever much appreciate for these videos. Just a little tips for all mimickers, I highly recommend you to reorganise your direction of axis which Y axis should be towards up before you start otherwise you may have direction trouble in the future process. This cannot be originally modified later so do it first.
    - See Up-right side corner and click your name
    - Select preference
    - In General menu, find "Default modeling orientation" and change it to "Y up" if it says "Z up"

Hi, have a question! i am learning how to use Inventor because i know how to use Autocad and i wanted to learn somenthing 3D (i don't like Autocad 3D),... this is not professional, and it is by my own so i am not gonna be a professional....i have seen that maybe it is better to use Fusion 360....they say that maybe it is better for simple design and if you are not gonna go really deep in simulation and modeling....what do you think about? thanks!

99% of what you can do in Inventor you can do in Fusion, I'd say fusion is overall a lot faster to model in, so I'd recommend it for anything short of working engines ( unlike this one ) and complete cars.
