My take on this is BTS has broken the wall (US/Western) because before nobody belives them coming from a small company. Their hands (Jungkook) were tied down so they could move forward as they were treated unfairly cause they come from a small contry in Asia. So now that they have broken the wall not just just for them but for others too. And at the end it says No More Dream and finally Dream. Cause they are now living their dreams as they are frwe to do what ever they want.
There are a lot of references in this video some you have mentioned were maze runner, LOTR,we also see bird box,madmax, Game of thrones, lion king,but what stands out to me is a LOT of Biblical references.. Noah's ark,the setting off of the dove, the war right in the beginning (one of the reasons why God did the great flood was the non-ending war between nations),the parting of the clouds,sprouting back of the trees..the first time I saw the MV where JK arrived at the pond I saw baptism, after a while I remembered he had these cuffs with thorns that look very similar to Jesus' crown of thorns, which we may interpret as human kind's sins,after dipping them in the water they were gone (sins washed away by baptism) and he now have a conch shell where in Christianity shells are symbols of baptism but it was a conch shell not a scallop.. I did some research about the conch shell and it says that Biblically a conch shell shows strength and fortitude. But it has more meaning especially in connection to music. "The conch, or shankh, is the most ancient musical instrument known to man. Obtained as a gift from the great ocean, it was held as sacred, and reference is found all over ancient Indian literature. It is seen in the hands of almost all gods and goddesses, whenever they were happy or going off to war. In Buddhism the conch shell’s call is meant to awaken one from ignorance, and is a sign of victory over suffering. In Chinese Buddhism, the conch shell signifies a prosperous journey, and in Islam it represents hearing the divine world.The spiral formation inside the conch is symbolic of infinity. The space , which gradually expands in a clock-wise direction. The shell is like the human journey of life. The hard casing protects life. The pearl inside (a scallop or oyster), and its aquatic nature associates it with the feminine, lunar, and virginity that is symbolic in music. The conch shell’s spiral form and relation to water cause it to represent the beginning of existence." This is just a small part in the video, there are more to be interpreted/referred to, just like the significance of the birds. But it takes a novel to explain this one video.. over all it I think it depicts the suffering of BTS in the start of their career and when they overcame this struggles at the end... sorry for the very long comment.. btw, "you nice,keep going"!

전 성경.노아의 방주썰이 더 맞는듯해요~ 내용이나 심볼들이 다 들어맞는거 같고요 이걸 찍은 감독이 그래미상 받은 감독이고 메이즈러너 찍은 회사팀과 했다던가 암튼 유명한 팀이라 그러던데 그래서 더 이런 영화같은 느낌이 드는 것 같기도 해요ㅡ 그리고 실제로 17년 화랑이라는 드라마를 찍었던 뷔는 물론이고,진도 연영과 출신이고 멤버 다들 지난 7년동안 찍어온 뮤비나 달방같은 자체 예능에서도 다 연기하던게 많아서 이젠 뭐 프로죠ㅎㅎ
가설이 굉장히 많아요 ㅎㅎ 그 중에 투탑이 메이즈 러너설이랑 성경설! 메이즈 러너는 일단 세트장이라든지 복장, 보여지는 상황 같은게 너무 비슷해서 자연스레 나왔고, 성경은 그 육지에 나와있던 배랑 동물들이 있는 게 '노아의 방주'를 연상시키고 성경 구절 중에 노아가 살아갈 땅을 찾기 위해 새를 날려보내서 찾게 했다는 것도 있어요. 저는 개인적으로 성경설을 믿는 중... 아는 분들은 알겠지만 방탄이 세계관을 짤 때 아무런 의미 없이 단순히 멋있거나 흥미진진해보이는 걸 하지는 않잖아요 ㅋㅋ 꼭 리스너들에게 전하고자하는 어떤 메세지가 있는데 그런 면에서 메이즈 러너 오마주는 너무 뜬금없는 것 같기도 하고, 성경 내용을 빌린 판타지인 것 같아요. 장면 하나 하나에 의미가 있겠지만 전 그런 것까진 잘 모르겠고ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그냥 마지막에 고난을 이겨내고 자유를 찾아 해피엔딩을 맞이했다는 거만 알겠네요
I really appreciated how you gave your opinions and theories about BTS's MV.It all fits to the MV. I myself have my own theories, but still in process of everything I saw in every scenes. I agree though each scenes fits the message BTS want to express in their LYrics.

They are talking about past a lot in this album. And Jin always gets me emotionelly, because he originally was the weakest link in the group. suddenly it hits me. ... His song Awake (lyrics: i could never fly.... reach the other members level ....) He picks up the dead pigon, but in the end he makes it alive again and makes it fly with his six other pigoens... Sean--the birds refer to Noah's Ark from the Bible. Early in the MV, Namjoon stands in front of the destroyed Ark with animals that were saved from the Flood. At the end, Jin releases a bird because in the Bible, Noah was told to release a dove from the Ark. If the dove didn't fly back to Noah, it meant the Flood was over and everyone could move forward and live on land again.

The white bird is a Dove. It represents peace and hope. However, at the beginning the Dove was dead which represents there is no peace and no hope, only despair. Jin took the dead bird and put it in the cage. When he returned to the hut there were many cages representing the many hardships they faced and the many times they failed to find peace and hope. But this time, the dead Dove came back to life. (the cage shook). The second bird (the black one that was sitting on top of Jungkook's unconscious body) I couldn't see clearly, it was either a crow or a vulture. Both represent death. Then after everyone gathered together at the opened wall, Jin released the newly revived Dove (representing their newly revived hope). All 7 members of BTS climbed to the summit of the rock, again representing hope and rebirth. You see 7 doves flying away, these doves represent the 7 members of BTS who have found their hope and their freedom from what burdened them in the past. They have accepted their fate and embraced it. They have found their strength together and will continue on the path climbing even higher than they thought they could. They are no longer afraid of the height. There are many other references, symbols, and metaphors, (Maze runner is one of them!) but I only focused on the birds since you were curious about them. I hope this helps.

Your comment of "a new religion" is very interesting. It's almost like they are each showing some aspect of a miraculous event... Jin and the dead bird that comes back to life, V laying in the crucifixion position (and what is happening with the dark pattern on his neck, and does this connect to the words on his face in the film version?), Jimin with the child? little person? Guru figure?, RM as Noah, Jungkook running away with his wrists bound with thorns like Jesus' crown who goes on to use the conch to call others, J-Hope with clothes that appear out of time compared to others, Suga in the religious ceremony like some kind of cult leader... Then the dance breakdown that shows them all hooded like a religious order, Jungkook in the middle with a staff with the conch hanging from it (from the past? When he brings it up from the river is he finding it again? Is that how they started before the war?). Then they are gathered at the opening of the wall and the miracle of the devastated land changing to a flourishing landscape, and they ascend to the high rock... 비둘기 같은거는 해석 영상이 많던데 제가 적절히 설명을 잘 못하겠네요..
전체적인 의미는 잘 짚어내셨네요..

저도 어떤분이 말하셔서 알게되었는데 벽을 나가는게 아니라 밖에서 들어가는 거에요. 가사에서도 고통을 가져오라는 포부가 담겼는데 그걸 표현한듯해요

이번에 공식 뮤비 두개에요.
방탄 뮤비는 이번 뿐 아니라, 예전부터 영화같은 뮤비와 음악부분 뮤비가 같이 나오는 게 좀 있어요. 스토리라인으로 앨범 나올 때 영화 스토리처럼 나오는 것들도 있구요. 세계관 연결이죠.
앨범 전부는 아니지만 보통 한 앨범을 낼 때 음악뮤비, 영화뮤비, 안무영상, 뮤비비하인드 등 볼거리가 많아요.

Your comment of "a new religion" is very interesting. It's almost like they are each showing some aspect of a miraculous event... Jin and the dead bird that comes back to life, V laying in the crucifixion position (and what is happening with the dark pattern on his neck, and does this connect to the words on his face in the film version?), Jimin with the child? little person? Guru figure?, RM as Noah, Jungkook running away with his wrists bound with thorns like Jesus' crown who goes on to use the conch to call others, J-Hope with clothes that appear out of time compared to others, Suga in the religious ceremony like some kind of cult leader... Then the dance breakdown that shows them all hooded like a religious order, Jungkook in the middle with a staff with the conch hanging from it (from the past? When he brings it up from the river is he finding it again? Is that how they started before the war?). Then they are gathered at the opening of the wall and the miracle of the devastated land changing to a flourishing landscape, and they ascend to the high rock... If nothing else it could be a trailer for an amazing fantasy drama that ties into parts of their whole previous mythology...

허~참..아미가 아닌 나도 알겠구만...처음 시작이 전쟁터...패한전쟁터라는게 맞겠지...그로부터 탈출해서 앞으로 앞으로 나갔지만...결국 한계에 부딪쳐...그게 자발적으로 들어온 새장같은 감옥일수도 있고..내 그림자일수도 있지..각 멤버들이 처음 데뷔때 느꼈던 패배의식으로부터 탈출해서 달려왔지만...갑작스런 성공에 혼란스러웠지. 그게 어떤 멤버에겐 새장같은 감옥일수도 있었고 또 어떤이에겐 자신의 그림자였지..또 어떤이에겐 계속 꿈속을 헤메는 것일수도 있고..댄스 브레이크 하는 장면은 각각의 멤버들의 불안과 한계가 그림자로 상징돼...그리고 7명은 자신의 그림자와 정정당당히 맞서 그걸 부숴버리고 눈을 떠. 보이는건 우뚝솟은 패러마운트. 자기들을 둘러싼 거대한 벽이 열리면서..아미들의 응원을 받으며 태산을 향해 오르는 거야. 이제 자신들의 위치를 깨닫고 최고가 되기 위해 달리는 야그가 바로 이 뮤비의 야그지...첫 공식뮤비였던 메니페스토 필름의 선언을 서사시로 담은 엄청난 역작인거야...난 그렇게 봤는데....아미가 아닌 나도..아미들은 이 속에서 각각의 메타포를 건져올리면 되것지..그건 아미들만의 숨은그림 찾기식 즐거움일거야...예컨대 rm이 첨 등장할때 나온 기린이라던가 제홉이 등장하는 삭막하지만 초현실적인 배경..그리고 예배당 장면들의 상징성이 다 있겠지. 온갖 떡밥의 대잔치 속에도 메인 줄거리가 뚜렷한 서사시야. 정말 역대급 매력이야..이번 뮤비는~^^
