I am a breast cancer survivor and I remember how awkward it was pinning the drains to my clothing after my mastectomy. I had 4 drains because , like many cancer patients, I had concurrent reconstructive surgery. What a beautiful and loving thing you are doing. God Bless, Susan
This is so inspirational. I never thought before about the ways a garment can help ease the discomforts post surgery, as well as accommodating a more limited range of motion. I want to learn more about people's needs in this area, and whether I can help produce garments that can serve to reduce their pains as well. Besides mastectomy patients I'm thinking there may well be others whose recovery or general accessibility could be improved by such thoughtful design. Perhaps the elderly, or people bedridden or in wheelchairs, or folks with limited use of their hands may have needs I never considered simply because those aren't my own issues. Bless you for raising awareness of the ways we sewers could contribute to an otherwise publicly invisible need!
❤ Thanks for your comment and thoughtful ideas. I think home health nurses might be able to clue us in on the types of projects that could aid a patient. ❤❤
❤ God bless you for offering this video-and recycling it, since it was originally offered six years ago. I belong to a service group that is making mastectomy heart pillows for the first time. I think this camisole would be a wonderful addition. We will make a variety of sizes. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and for providing the link for the pattern. As usual, your video is well-produced with great photography, especially the closeups, and directions that are easy to follow. 😊
You'd need to contact Crafting Comfort; I do not do any of the payments or processing for this pattern, I just link to it. requests@craftingcomfort.org
@@Mellysews Thank you so much for your Quick Response - If I distribute these to Friends/Family, I can provide a Note Explaining how to use the Camisole Pockets. Thanks again for helping to design this Post Surgical Camisole.
Hi Susan. Sorry you had to go through that! To donate, use the link in the description and buy the pattern - it is pay what you will, and 100% of those purchases go to Crafting Comfort to create more of these. So even if you never use the pattern, your purchase of it helps them out.

Yes, I've heard of others using this top for shoulder, elbow, abdominal, etc surgeries.

I just purchased the pattern, thanks for sharing the information.
Thank YOU for supporting this charity!
Of course! It's such a worthy and needed item that I feel honored to be able to help.
Quick Question: Are the Upper Level Pockets for the Drainage Bags also? Just wondering so I can explain how to use the Camisole to my friends/spouse.
Yes. Different surgeries may put drains in different places, so the pockets are on top and bottom so the patient has options.
