Man, I love this series. So many great games. Wish they were more readibly available on modern platforms. So many gems I wish more people could experience with ease.
Me and my bf played Tales of Xillia together and we went to Japan and watched Ayumi Hamasaki sing the opening live, such a great memory ^^ The Tales series have many great openings, but that one is very special to me.
16:53 This Tales has a special place in my heart. The characters, skills, voice and most of all the story made my cry playing this till the end. And has one of the lost awesome op soundtrack of all Tales series.
Tales of games are just such amazing rpgs to play, I've always adored not only they have such awesome openings as the songs are just on point, but the story lines for the games are beautifully done and the characters for me personally just fall in love with them. To me personally I love Final Fantasy games but Tales of games does it for me the most. Lastly well done with this video 🥰👌
I can listen to all of these openings and they're always so heartfelt. It's kinda funny how ones like ToD2 have all these epic scenes yet the song is so calming and melancholic.
@@straypaper I always loved both English intros for both Symphonias. I felt the vocalized songs for these were too monotonous and the instrumentals fixed that imo.
Destiny: Directors Cut and Rebirth are such good games and it's criminal most people outside Japan won't have played either The song in Rebirth is also so good like wot ❤
Rebirth fan translation is coming next, can't wait to experience the story since I don't understand japanese haha. Namco should have tried to localize the games too with their remaster projects in the way
@hakimalam7753 I've kind lost interest on the fan translations. I keep seeing "almost finished" then I go to Google and see posts from early 2023 saying "almost finished" (Destiny 2 from lumina). That's quite an old date and no nw updates since and no downloads of any progress whatsoever So just confused as to what's done and nearly done. Rebirth and Destiny 2 I would love to be able to play

Symphonia is my favourite game ever, crazy opening.. This game and Berseria rekindled my love for gaming. Among those i didn't play, i really really really wish i could play Tales of Innocence R. The opening is magical.
Back when i was in Highschool i played Tales of Destiny 2 Many years later i found out that there's some localisation error and ToD2 was actually Tales of Eternia! lol
Tales of Destiny was the first Tales to get localized so naming Eternia as ToD 2 was just for the sake of name recognition. Tales of Phantasia didn't come until much later. It's kind of similar to how FF 4 and 6 became FF 2 and 3 since the actual FF 2,3, and 5 weren't localized yet.

If I watch these OP out of context, I can easily tell that they all are video games except Innocence1. It feels more like an anime tv series opening especially the beginning and end part.

I’m biased for Symphonia as it was one of the first rpgs I’ve ever beaten as a wee 5th grader. I even had my nephew play with me as Genus most of the time. It was so fun. The only other Tales game I played was Arise, although fun too, it was nothing compared to Symphonia. Nothing will ever top that. The incredible atmosphere of that game. The message and terrifying themes of racism and religious violence. It was a lot for a kid to take in 😂
After over 2 weeks -(bc that damn leaks which i still don't know if it was true or not.. But atleast it's giving me hope lol)- I still waiting for xillia remastered...

Tales of Phantasia to Graces F was the best time to be a Tales fan. From Xilla onward I found the games be somewhat lacking compared to the earlier titles. Arise being the worst anf not feeling like a tales game at all. I just hope they port the older titles to newer consoles.
Yeah the themes the story which previous games had done before, are handled badly in Arise some how. Found the world and music to be forgettable. Enemies are damage sponges and take too long to kill. Yes I know the previous games ain't perfect, but they kept that Tales of dna that make the series great
I think Xillia 1 and 2 should be included as well, for me gameplay wise it peaked better for me than Graces because of the free movement and not so overcomplicated title system. Story may not be as good, but the characters are definitely memorable as Xillia 2 does justice to character building.

I recommend you try tale of symphonia they do have great story and console that you can play ps2, ps3, ps4, steam, xbox one, gamecube and nintendo switch
People like symphonia but I enjoy vesperia's story it also has a good sense of comedy and the other games don't. Light hearted jokes every now and then. Xilla I'll also vouch for
As other mentioned Symphonia (GC is actually best version of it if you care about fps) is good and Vespiria (do the PS4 or PC version its definitive and good). I'd also recommend Abyss its on ps2 (it has a 3ds version but thats inferior despite being HD). Xilia is on PS3(gonna have to emulate it though). Berseria is good of the newer ones thats PS4 and PC.
Symphonia and Abyss have the best. Symphonia for Gamecube (sadly, every port of it is inferior to the original Gamecube version even though the ports have extra costumes), Abyss for PS2 or 3DS.

Unpopular opinion here: I always have dislike the modern Tales of series openings starting from Tales of Xillia 2 until Berseria. Tales of Xillia's character design is too modern for my personal taste and as for Tales of Zestiria and Berseria, it's only a showcase of battles and fight scenes, while it is cool, historically, Tales of series openings always highlight the connection between the characters and its missing in Zestiria and Berseria. I'm so glad they decide to back to their roots with Arise.
It's a shame they never made another game after Berseria, but at least they ended on a high note. No idea what that garbage is after it in this compilation.

Man I bought a ps2 slim to jailbreak pretty much just to play ToD:DC. It sucks that the game doesn't exist in any other form.
The Tales of Rebirth song/opening is so good. I really hope it gets brought to the west with the remaster project

Oh man, I remember how I used to blast some of these on repeat non-stop to get through the monotonous days at school.
That Garnet crow intro of eternia so nostalgic reminds me of the detective Conan songs they used to make.
This is also a testament to how animation has evolved.

People like symphonia but I enjoy vesperia's story it also has a good sense of comedy and the other games don't. Light hearted jokes every now and then. Xilla I'll also vouch for
As other mentioned Symphonia (GC is actually best version of it if you care about fps) is good and Vespiria (do the PS4 or PC version its definitive and good). I'd also recommend Abyss its on ps2 (it has a 3ds version but thats inferior despite being HD). Xilia is on PS3(gonna have to emulate it though). Berseria is good of the newer ones thats PS4 and PC.
Symphonia and Abyss have the best. Symphonia for Gamecube (sadly, every port of it is inferior to the original Gamecube version even though the ports have extra costumes), Abyss for PS2 or 3DS.

Anime versions of Phantasia, Eternia and Zestiria had better openings. Symphonia and Abyss opening remain the same in their anime.
Not Symphonia
Unpopular opinion here: I always have dislike the modern Tales of series openings starting from Tales of Xillia 2 until Berseria. Tales of Xillia's character design is too modern for my personal taste and as for Tales of Zestiria and Berseria, it's only a showcase of battles and fight scenes, while it is cool, historically, Tales of series openings always highlight the connection between the characters and its missing in Zestiria and Berseria. I'm so glad they decide to back to their roots with Arise.

It's a shame they never made another game after Berseria, but at least they ended on a high note. No idea what that garbage is after it in this compilation.
Heads up, the english versions for Abyss and Legendia are objectively better.
