- Here is a Simplicity Freecom Sand Machine upright vacuum (model F3700) that was recently acquired. This vacuum was bought off OfferUp just shortly after I acquired the Riccar Supralite vairant ( • Riccar Supralite RSL5.... ), and it's the exact same vacuum. The Simplicity Freedom (and Riccar Supralite) was made for people who want an Oreck for the sake of it being lightweight, but didn't like its performance, so Tacony (the company that owns Riccar, Simplicity, and Maytag) decided to improve on Oreck's design to make it a much better performer. What makes this out clean an Oreck, is mostly due to its brush roll with extremely stiff bristles, but also this has more suction and airflow along with it. This does feature a 2 speed motor which can be switched to low speed for cleaning low pile area rugs or even bare floors (but in my opinion, this doesn't do that well, even with the rubber seal on the back, but since the bristles are long and stiff, that it makes a loud buzzing noise across bare floor surfaces). It features a 5.5 amp motor with direct air design and takes Style F bags (that uses a similar docking system similar to what Oreck uses). The suction is not the good, the airflow is great (thanks to it's much larger fill tube than an Oreck), the agitation on this is incredible, mostly thanks to those stiff bristles on the brush roll. My only complaint about this machine is for how pricey these are brand new, and the release pedal takes some getting used to, cause there were some other models that did not use the pedal release. Overall, this is an amazing vacuum to use, and does perform fantastic.
This vacuum cleaner remind me of the Oreck for sure, but it is a nice machine for its age ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've had the F3700 Sand for at least 15 years. I have only replaced the bags. Thing works as well as it did the day I bought it. Definitely expensive but I think it works great.
