Growing up my dad was an alcoholic and a drug addict. My mom told me I'd be down the hallway and he'd be in the closet doing meth.. My mom finally had enough after he started getting aggresive and divorced him. He went to rehab and finally stopped drugs, but not drinking. He'd still drink.. A lot. To the point where it was threatening his health. Not too long ago, he was actually rushed to the hospital because of his liver. His liver was failing and the doctor told me he wasn't going to make it. Surprisingly he actually made after staying in the hospital for at least a month. During that month the only thing that relieved my pain was singing. Just like this man. My dad is out now, and hasn't took a sip of anything alcoholic in at least 1 year. I can relate to this so much.

I didn't cry but His song did really make me realize how we shouldn't let people decide our lives and how we should make our lives, I mean the things we do is all part of a really big puzzle to just solve, and for how many days we have in life that's how many pieces we put together each day.

Such a polite and humble young man. I'm happy his father turned his life around. I know the story of addiction all to well. It's sad that he thinks he owes his father something for becoming sober. Hopefully his dad let's him know it's the other way around and he can never repay his son for every minute he wasn't there. I wish both all the luck in the world

i understand what you went through. My father is an alcoholic so I know what its like to have to feel like the adult at a young age. The fact that you fought through it and do that it is amazing. You put your pain to good use. Thank you for sharing this song and your story it gives me hope that even though my father may not be the best now he might change in the future and show me that he deserves a second chance and that he can change.

Me with my Son Andrew I was addicted to alcohol I raise him from the age of 12 on but he saw me drunk on benders 5 to 10 days in a row although he wishes I would change I didn't tell he was about 20 .Today he is my best friend and he saved my life he's 23 now.
