Love to see that skin on the great space potato. My first L4 mission runner was the sentry domi - the mjd long range variant - and it still has a fond place in my heart.

Just a big thank you for this video. By now i changed the fitting on my drone Dominix at least 2-3 times (armor and shield) but this might just be my last fitting for it. Really pleased with the cap stable double rep. Now i can survive in every mission and be more consistent. :)
thats the brute(tank) approach mate, you can also spec the dominix for a higher dps sniper role, fit the domi with a jump drive instead of(or in addition to) a micowarp/afterburner.....(lowslot)3x drone damage augments(for dmg)...... and (highslot)3x drone links(for range), sentry drone damage rigging(more dmg)... and snipe enemies at 100km+, with almost no damage taken.... jump drive ensures a 100km jump with 3min cooldown, increases your kill time and survivability and isk per hour. ...all with enough low slots left over for a large armor repairer, and 2-3 slots for damage hardeners.....also some mid slots left over for capacitor/utility mods.
@@Tr4newreck thx for the fitting idea. I did adjust the fitting from the video in Pyfa with 3 DDA and 2 T1 Sentry Damage Riggs. The DPS (Faction Warden) went up by about 60 with my skills. I will stay with the tanky boy for now as that is my more afk-ish mission runner atm. :)

I used to run level 4's in a similar way. The wardens can pop frigates in a volley, medium/heavy drones can take care of most everything else. One drawback is that our stationary and larger ships and sentries on the NPC side can hit hard and if you don't take a room in the correct order, one can be overwhelmed fairly quickly.
great video, recommend taking off the screen shake when making videos, it makes it a little easier to watch. Definitely going to try the flying battery!
If you take a single rail gun, or a TP you can aggro rats and save drones some damage. Also a drone tracking computer in mid slots helps application, and medium drones to hit frigates. I use wardens for sniping and swap for a flight of gardes as the rats get closer - they hit better and harder - then go mobile with large or medium drones on the field.
Sounds pretty similar to what I found. I could replace the salvager and tractor beam with some offensive stuff for sure. I will mod the fit in a future vid. I find medium drones can get some damage from the rat frigates and dessies, but it seems to vary greatly site to site. A drone nav computer would fit well, but i have a target painter fetish xD
Lots of people like to use artillery instead of rails to save on cap. This everlasting cap build you could probably use lasers to save on ammo.
I've recently come back to the game after a long time, and I will start to do missions on my drone boat. I used to fly L4 missions before but now I lack the confidence. I will try again on the Domi thanks to this video.

I lost my navy domi last week and I’ve been making runs out to sell a bunch of stuff to replace it then I saw this video. I bought one of these fits for half the cost of a navy hull. Took it out in some L3s and it was insanely easy. This weekend I’m running some 4s. If I lose it, that’s ok, I’ll learn from my mistakes and buy/fit a new one and still be ahead. Thanks for this video!
How was lvl4 with this?
On my sentry dominix I have 4 drone damage amplifiers, and two mid-slot drone tracking scripts for more optimal range and tracking speed. I jump drive out of sticky situations when need to. Shoot my wardens from sometimes 130 km. At the end of the mission, I salvage with a Noctis
Your build needs more drone tracking and one less armor repairer, and trade one or two of the cap rechargers for blinged cap batteries, and rigs should be one drone durability and two cap controls. Lows are missing a Damage Control II and one more blinged drone damage mod.
I was tweaking this fit earlier this week for less 'battery' and more punch. A Damage control is an option, especially if i dont have to think about the rats. I have lots of mods in the hanger to switch in and out. SO far i have this which will be in a new vid soon :)

@@daddex9222 Drones recharge their shields in the Drone Bay so I would use the Remote Armor Rep but not the Remote Shield Rep assuming your fit is not working correctly.
Top of the morning to you! I still love my low rent Vexor with hammerheads II, Valkyrie II, and a small group of hobgoblins II. I get through the LVL 3 sites easy enough when I feel the ratting mood. Great video and the Dominic is right up my trained skills alley! Hope to see more content when you can. Especially the hour long one you discussed in this video.

Honestly gathering salvage out of Missions is only a thing if you: Have at least an alt who can do that, and need the stuff to produce something, to sell it later.
Usually after a while i can provide my own ammunition for my Mission runners, but a buy order with a fair price is usually way less hassle. (i count lost drones as ammunition, thats why i mention it)
Love seeing Mr. Potato head out in space! I killed a lot of rats with mine when I flew it, and I suppose you would call me a traditionalist.. I use it as a full on sniper. The first ship I really wanted to fly in this game was the Ishtar, so those skills translated nicely to the Domi when I started doing missions. I'm in Marauders now, but every now and again I take the Dominix out when helping a newbro figure out missions or when my alliance needs salvage to build stuff... 'cause sometimes it's nice to have zero ammo cost. Drop on grid, MJD to a nice spot and chat on Discord while the sentries chew through the field. Mark the spot then call in the cleanup crew. It's not all that tanky, but it's rare that anything gets through my shields when used as intended. The blingy stuff isn't needed unless lower skill levels make the fit tight, I just added it over time when I felt the need for some upgrades. Without the shiny bits it comes in under 500 mil. I do wish they had done a Marauder version of the Dominix though...

I've had a dominix Hull sitting around for a while. My go to mission ship has been either a blaster or railgun fit Hyperion. I've used MJD with the railgun Hyperion, along with a full flight of bouncer sentry drones and hobgoblin 2's. Preferred the heavies when the Hyperion is blaster fit.

I bought an Oracle and plan to snipe with lasers 200kms away the L3 missions. I wonder if you can publish running this with that in mind?
I used to have a lot of fun with Sentries in my sniper Vexor Navy. Managed to get up to a 120 km range on it and cleared quite a few lvl 4s in it. I was quite sad when, a few years ago, they nerfed the drone bandwidth on the ship, taking away most of that capability.

One mistake I have to correct, the control range is EXTREMELY relevant to sentry drones, as this number doesn't only indicate the distance that YOU have to be away from the drones to control them, but the distance that the drones have to be within to be able to engage\attack a selected target.
Yes you are right, but would anyone ever go any where near that far away from them, and then have to come pick them up?
@@daddex9222 no, but you might want to engage at very long distances to your target (while staying close to your drones) right now Im fitting a dominix with a Micro Jump Drive, which will let me jump 100 clicks, deploy sentries and then let them snipe away. I wouldn't be able to do this if my drone control range was less than my targeting range.

Great video. I’m a returning player after a considerable time away. Just starting back out again and looking forward to learning the ropes in L1/L2/L3 missions. Never done any level 4’s though so it’s good to see some examples of builds. I’m looking to do security missions for obvious reasons, any advice on which factions to run with, are there any benefits over one or another? I’ve rolled Minmatar this time but back in the old days I used to run missions for Caldari Navy. Keep up the great work and it’s good to see EVE getting some good content on TH-cam after all these years.
I’ve always loved drone builds so starting to build up my skills again for the Tristan and Vexor. I seem to remember the Vexor being very reliable for L2 missions, not sure the best fit for L3’s but I’ll do some research…. I see much has changed in EVE over the years but a lot has stayed the same. Interesting to see some of the mission names and content are exactly as they were 10-15 years ago :)
I have a love hate relationship with drones. By the time I notice them getting shot at, I call them back, but still lose them. I have never tried with a remote repair. But I will if a rat drops one on me. Thanks for the videos IGN jrmfrg

Not much of a mission runner myself, who knows I might try it out again. Never used sentry drones because they're omega ugh but I do certainly feel like a babysitter whenever I'm flying with drones. I feel so bad whenever I lose them though.

For beginners: try a praxis shield fit + rapid light missile. Good dmg, good tank and you don't need many skills. Maybe Dad Dex does a vid on that too ;-)
I used an Alpha RLM Praxis to do Emerging Conduits when they were a thing, even with no bonuses the application was way much better with them versus all those frigates and destroyers. I did a RHM Praxis for a level 4. The Praxis is a strong versatile ship for sure, and the cheapest battleship hull :)

hmm def a different version, I was using cruise missiles on mine too, wasn't the domi I was aiming for at the start but I were deep in missiles already, wardens + cruise missiles = very little get near you so I only think I ever had to rep a little on one mission. then used navy lights for the small ships that got close, wardens ate the rest, even small ships at range
Always run a sniper Hyperion with sentry's takes out ships quickly .
To be honest, my favorite drone ship is the Procurer. ^^ Thanks to the changes I have more room for drones and can actually toast some others who think it's just a barge. I tried drones and got to say naaaaaw. Nothing beats a Cruise Missle Beast like a CNR to this day.
I use two Domis in null sec. The high slots on this ship go to waste unless you have a second Domi so they can remote rep each other.

Have you ever given Mutated Drones some thoughts? The drones modified with a mutaplasmid will have enhanced performance. However the price tag for both the mutaplasmids and required skills may exceed the expected results.

I haven't used sentry drones for quite a while, but your video has me thinking twice which I always appreciate from your content. My favorite use of drones is as a flexible, non-consumable (hopefully) weapon system, dishing them out from a tristan, worm or gila. Made my Orca to a droneboat. It has got insane 1K DPS by 190EHP Tank.
I can't use the sentry drones yet, but they would definitely be useful in World Collides (at the initial warp in) to snipe the distant groups. I only use missile boats for now, so drones are only in support. Unless there are specific triggers, I'll usually clear the rooms from the smallest to the biggest rats. I don't use the heavy drones anymore, because they are slow and the battleships will generally keep at range around 50k (and also, I only have them at level 3), so if I had to recall them as they got aggro I could easily lose one on it's way back. Medium drones sometimes barely keep the battleships to repair while my missile launchers reload, so I'll definitely consider the sentry as an option to shoot the battleships.

Alright, just did some tests on Singularity and I like how the sentry drones work! I'm sold! Any cruiser and smaller under 20km I'll use small or medium drones. Slower and bigger rats at any distance, sentries does a good job and will have a place in my drone bay from now on. Tested with level 2 only, but just used my daily login SP on TQ to train up to level 3 (same as heavy drones). I'm using a Typhoone Fleet Issue, so no bonus for drones, but the sentry will be a better option than heavy drones for me.
I only realised recently how good small drones are good at picking off scram frigate when you're fit with big guns. I haven't even thought of using sentry, not even trained a level. Cheers, ign: Pollekey

Big fan of Drone ships, especially the Ishtar - it has such great drone dmg application, it's not even funny. Granted, it lacks a bit in raw Sentry dmg, but it's still a viable pairing. Especially given it's drone range bonus, which makes using sentries all too satisfying. Made some great space $ running blood 4/10s with a sentry Ishtar, and still think it's a better option than a Sentry Stratios for that specific purpose. Or anything else using regular drones, that get webbed and deleted...
Domi is an interesting animal as well. Used it to decent effect in null ratting, especially liked MJD coupled with sentry and arty. Just sit far enough not to care about tank, and blap the rats. Although the best thing about Domi/Ishtar is the drone application bonuses. Will outshine even Rattles otherwise better raw DPS, when used against targets cruiser sized or smaller. Against predominantly BS sized rats - yh, Rattle will do better, IF you can afford it.

Super useful video thanks. I don't use drones too much, apart from taking out the frigates that get too close to me so I can't hit them. Drone boats always made me nervous in case of a de-fanging. This has made me interested in trying out the sentry drones. I'll let you know how I get on and if I become a convert!

Love my Domi, need to go back to it, as I just use jump drive and snipe, easy money and drops. Salvage always handy for a couple mill more. I do use Warden II. I just skilled to a Gila and used that but prob use my Domi as just a easy way to make isk. IGN Lucy Helios
Im currently running the Vexor, doing pretty great with it, but earning ISK in high sec doing L2 missions is a no go. I'm making more in T1 Abyss space (with the Worm) and exploring is even more lucrative, I would really like to move on to L3 missions so my question is this. I can quite easily skip over the Myrmidon and go for the Dominix. My question is SHOULD i do that? I've got Drones to V and Light drones to V, and most other drone support skills to 3 or 4. I think Mediums are currently at 4 and training to 5. So far I haven invested into heavy drones but that is on the TO DO. So do I go for the Dominix, and while I grind L3 missions skill it up for sniping sentries and L4?? Thoughts?
I suck at EVE, but imo the Myrm is a really solid hull; and it sounds like your skills are nearly perfect to use Medium drones while ya train for Heavies/Sentries. Just toss on whatever Turret type you prefer and Drone mods and whichever tank type you plan to run… really flexible ship if you have the skill points to use the thing (and like the play-style, but we’re talking Drone warfare in Interweb Spessboats).

LOL. Certainly not a very exciting fit, but it did the job very nicely didn't it? It is a safe fit for newer players, they can reduce tank and up DPS as they get more into it as I make clear in the vids o7

improvements that easily can be made even for new players:
drop the salvager 1 drone link augmentor and the shield repairer (and if youre not bad at it you cna also drop the armor rep) to fit autocannons
extra dps and can get rid of frigs easily without waisting drone dps.
if you want to salvage go along just use a flight of savage drones
fitting an ab or if you like sentries an MJD further frees cap so you can drop atleast 2 cap mods maybe even 3 even withg low skills to put utility in the mids and rigs...
depending on playstyle web grapler painter and or drone computer
you can get rid of the tw active resistance mods (also helps with cap) and put in a dcu2 and a passive multisprectrum or just a multispectrum and fit a 3rd dmg mod to improve cleartime without risking much of the tank
also consider dishing out the extra 130m for a navy issue you get better stats for not much in price
oh and dont fit the reppers next to each other in case you want to overheat cause you messed up....
I haven't skilled into battleships yet, I went a different route and skilled up for an Ishtar. I went shield active tank and have almost 700 dps with T2 Wasps, with 60 EM, 70 Thermal, 89 Kinetic and 64 explosive shield resistance. With 13.6k EHP.

What are the drone link augmentors for?
I know they're used to improve your drone command range, but with sentry drones you just sit right beside them and are glad that they shoot everything.
Also I really don't understand your capacitor orgy when you're not even firing a single weapon, yet just don't even have any weapons but the sentry drones!
And you do know that even the rats can easily underrun your sentry drones and than you're f***** because you have absolutely no nearfield defence!
At least pack sa few blasters in the high slots to be able to defend yourself with maybe a webifiier in the mids!
I also don''t understand the MWD when you're supposed to sit all the time beside your sentry drones!
All in all, a very questionable build in my opinion!
Would rather go, when using sentries, with some blasters and tracking computers with tracking scripts.
Or go with the longest range railguns, oneshot what you can and everything that's too small or gets too near too fast is fodder for your light or medium drones.....
