There are many factors to consider If your height is tall like 6 feet approx and you like off-roads adventure, good pillion comfort, Suzuki's trusted engine, low mileage and poor service network than go for V-Strom for sure. But if you want touring with good milega, reliable engine, best ergonomic in it segment, muscular looks, best for city commuting and as well as long touring with good service network and easy parts availability thn go for Dominar. Note: go and test ride both and than decide which one is perfect for you.

I own a Dominar 250, and i believe a spark plug change(ngk spark plug instead of that stock one) should eliminate all the vibes. My 250 is buttery smooth, no vibes at any point. I have ridden it from 20-130+kmh Dominar 400(stock) does have a lot of vibrations and i agree to that, again a spark plug change should fix it as the current stock spark plugs aren't that good. Anyways, hope that helps
Everything is ok except the unnecessary weight it has been put on to, which has restricted it only for highways. I know there will be a lot of guys coming at me bashing for this but this is fact. Their are products from Bajaj and its owned company ktm, which even after sharing the same platform are much lighter , almost 15 -20 kgs. So when the major components of weight are similar there was no need to make this one so obese as it is. More over the weight itself does no good. As far as the argument of staying planted in high speed is concerned it depends more on the factors like weight management, aerodynamics/ ergonomics , lengthy swing arm etc.

Dominar 400(stock) does have a lot of vibrations and i agree to that, again a spark plug change should fix it as the current stock spark plugs aren't that good.
