Regarding mining, the story is that he was recruited by another mafia to kill the mining leader (Garudan). that's why he disguised himself as a worker. if you like action films, lots of fighting. This is a film that must be watched.

During this period , Britishers exploited Indian labourers.

This has nothing related to the planet of apes. KGF is a masterpiece and a must watch intense movie, it also has sequel KGF2. But KGF chapter 1 was awesome.
