  • This is a "play-through" using Cycloid Beta in the PS1 version of Street Fighter EX2 Plus. Read on below for more information...
    Cycloid Beta appears as a "dummy" character in the Excel Bonus Stage and in the end credits. He is an unplayable character.
    He can move around freely like any normal character and has all the basic punches and kicks, but none of these moves can hit the opponent - it goes right through them. He does not have any special moves or super combos, and has a throw which he Techs out of himself, lol. He can also go into Excel mode, but his moves during Excel still do not hit the opponent.
    Cycloid Beta cannot be hit by the opponent normally. However he CAN be hit when the opponent is in Excel mode (just like in the 1st Bonus Stage).
    Therefore in order to go through and complete Arcade mode with him, I've lowered the opponent's life and set the time to 10 seconds for each match. This ensures that Cycloid Beta will always win each match via Time Over. It's the only way you can do it.
    If you play as Cycloid in the 1st Bonus Stage, he'll freeze the game after it ends. Therefore, I used a different method to pass this stage so that he can continue through the game.
    ===== Additional Information =====
    ---- His name in the Arcade character select screen reads as 'NOW PRINTING', and he uses Hayate's portrait image.
    ---- On the versus screen, he uses Hayate's portrait and name.
    ---- On the Arcade character select screen, when you press a button to select him, there is an announcer voice that say "Cycloid Gamma" for him. This is surprising considering that he is a non-selectable character, and that this name voice is not used anywhere else in the game.
    ---- Despite the announcer voice calling him "Cycloid Gamma", he is actually Cycloid Beta.
    ---- In his Command List, his name is '???' and the list is Kairi's moves.
    ---- He has a 3rd colour palette/costume of him in green. This colour is not normally used anywhere in the game.
    ---- In the 2nd Bonus Game (against the satellite), he appears in a black colour palette/costume for some reason.
    ---- If you complete single-player Arcade mode with him, you'll get Kairi's portrait image and ending text.
    ---- If you complete single-player Arcade mode with him, you'll get to enter your name for the score Ranking screen.
    ---- He shows up on the score Ranking screen with his icon being the red [?] box, and his name being "EXTRA".
    ---- He copies his opponent's winning poses. This is normal as it usually happens in the event where you fail to defeat him in the 1st Bonus Stage. However when playing as him in other modes, his winning poses can produce some "wrong" sound effects.
    ===== About PS1 SFEX2P =====
    This is one of the best fighting games on the PS1. Apart from the loading times and lower graphics quality, this is generally better than the arcade version, mainly because it has more features and modes. It uses a remixed AST soundtrack for it's music themes, but unfortunately it does not offer an option of using the original OST arcade tracks. The PS1 port also sees the return of the character Hayate, who mysteriously went missing for the arcade version.
