I’m guessing this is the original Street Fighter EX2, where Excel attacks needed to be chained (rather than EX2+ where you could just mash the same attack button multiple times during Excel).
The ps game was another title. Ex2 Plus. This one is just ex2. It ran on stronger hardware than the ps1. The first game with the excel mechanic. Dropped on N64 and Arcade. Best Kairi and Guile imo

Actually this is vanilla SFEX2, released only at arcades. SFEX2 Plus (the version that you mean) got ported to PSX with some character voice clips replaced with new ones.

I was really wondering that cause in EX2+ you also gain more meter which allow you do Excel loops.

Maybe you played the first game (latest version of that was Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha, pretty popular on PS1) instead of EX2.
