For me it was Frontlines. You had to actually hold your territory and slowly push your way across the map and there was a lot of back and forth (just like WW1) Conquest is the worst Battlefield mode for me and of course it's by far the most popular in every game.
@@mickram7911 oh god Frontlines was great. I remember spending an entire session of about 4hrs with friends in just 1 round. Both teams were way to balanced but also way to commited to let the other one win. It was a slugfest (and afterwards a friend was like "this was the most WW1 game ever: you run out to die in a wave just to gain no ground at all, while the other team is doing the same") In the end the top 5 (on both teams) went out with about 300 kills each...
That track you put in at 1:00 made me cry Not water my eyes, I genuinely cried out loud. I never cried over a game soundtrack or any song for that matter.
I am playing BF1 every day with my friend, love the game to bits. However some things start to feel outdated and frustrating at times (ususally dumb team mates), gunplay can be also a bit off in places where you die behind cover or instantly, spawning in front of enemy just to die only, ARTILLERY TRUCK 100 STAR and BOMBERS, IMMORTAL HORSES. Something EA/DICE never addressed before ending support
@OperatorDrewski part 1:02 that song is Zajdi, zajdi Sonce .... Famous folk song from my country ..... Hi from Macedonia :D I love Battlefield 1 .... Great game ever made !!!!!
Ive always said this, bf1 was the last GOOD battlefield game, and for me personally is my favorite battlefield overall, I loved pretty much every single map, soundtrack is the best out of all the games by far, the graphics and sound design are amazing, tons of weapons to unlock, good destruction, a metric fucktone of badass battlefield moments that can happen, I will always love this game and am so happy seeing more playing it again
Same the maps are awesome, the guns all feel great even the wacky weapons are fun to mess around with. Not to mention the campaign mode which is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. 9.5/10 game only .5 off is because kolibri isn't a one shot kill
people bitching about gun customization are fucking braindead too. Every LMG, every AR, every SMG feels similar in BF4. I would rather have fewer guns with bigger in-class and interclass variance in terms of how the weapons behave. The difference between Chauchat and Merci-Benett and M1917MG is immense.
While Battlefield 4 was great and I love Bad Company 2 to death, I honestly believe Battlefield 1 was the absolute peak and I'm afraid Battlefield may never recapture such high level of polish and overall quality.
This game is a personal favorite it truly is muddy, bloody, and makes games that you will remember. It still one of the best looking games too Pro tip enemy's marked with the trench Parascope outlines the marked player and vehicles
Everything about this game was perfect. The only thing that could've made it better would be a realism mode where everybody has minimal HUD and less health.
BF1 was the last true battlefield where we got this feeling of having a great time playing. No other things to do to travel among maps locations, play chill and use other ways to win
We had these full immersion competitions- hardcore, no hud. What an experience to be had. Truly made an immersive experience and a level playing field for everyone. Definitely needs to be played again!
The *only* problem I had with BF1 was that EA stopped doing anything about hackers. Infinite artillery calldowns, one shotting tanks with a pistol from across the map, all that sort of stuff. You could report hackers, but I'd still see the exact same account a week later doing the exact same crap.
> watches Drewski vid on BF1. >> opens Origin. >>> loads up BF1. -wipes tear from eye- Cheers for reminding me how much a gem this Battlefield truly is, mate.
Battlefield 1 truly is the last greatest battlefield to stick to its root formula. At the time while yes it was very much different than Battlefield 4, and expectations were more in line with a modern battlefield. It was very much accepted to me, and given all the content, the premium system which worked because you at least got a bunch of content and not drop fed 2 maps over the course of a couple years. This game looks beautiful, the atomosphere is not like any other battlefield imo, the OST, the soundscape of just hearing teammates yelling, screaming. The brutality in melee kill animations. The wide array of melee weapons, reminiscent of the bf4 Knifes you could choose from. I just wish the behemoths to this day, had a bit more of an impact to turn the tide of the match. As imo, they’re pretty weak when teamed up on by 1-2 squads.
Battlefield 1 is by far my favourite battlefield game. I loved Back to Basics when it actually had players 😢 Hopefully now with the new players we can get back into the custom games!!!
That transition at 00:15 tells you everything you need to know. A 6 year old game runs, looks, feels, and plays infinitely better than 2042 because of the difference in effort and talent.
Woah, this is a BEAUTIFUL game! Never expected Battlefield 1(2016 release date) to look like it released within the past couple years! Foliage looks extravagant
i also came back, i love this game, it was one of my earliest and most vivid online shooter experiences, i played it all the time in 2016 and 2017, im glad i can enjoy these operations once again, its so gritty, cinematic and epic
"I don't think there's been a bad thing said about this game" BF community in a nutshell. There absolutely was a lot of negative things said. It just gets forgotten when newer and then worse BF games come out.
If they really wanted to, Dice could’ve included other conflicts Post-WW1, such as the Irish War of Independence, Spanish Civil War, and other various wars that took place.
I think the biggest complaints I saw about BF1 were mostly about the guns themselves, especially the SMG's like the Hellrigel Other than that a lot of people did really love the gem that is this beautiful game
yeah there were a lot of complaints that its not realistic, the game is more of a reimagining of the first world war, its more of a 1920s/1930s setting while keeping the nation sides of the ww1, and also the narration (like operations) is if as it was real ww1 but it wouldnt be as fun if there were no automatic weapons, its a staple of shooters
I broke 2 monitors and a couple of controllers because of this game. The pre-nerf gas grenades(can carry 2 instead of 1), the explosive spams, the dreadfully slow pre-buff TTK, the never fixed heavy bomber, the no time limit Frontline game that I had to stop because it had been almost 4 hours, and the amount shit I talked about this game because I was so passed at the random bullet deviation. But man, I miss it. I can walk in Argonne forest with my eyes closed. The melee only servers. The headshot sounds. The first time I did well CQBing with snipers. And all the dumb shit you can do in a BF game. This game will forever be special to me.
This makes me so happy to see......BF1 has always been close to my heart since launch, I've been lvl cap since Apocalypse released and been playing strong every since, and to see so many new people falling in love with the game as I once did makes me feel really good
1:02 OH GOD, YOU GOT MY HEART OUT OF NOWHERE! That song, from that campaign, god it make my heart sink. Who to think that music from a game can hit like a goddamn truck!
When i saw the version with all the dlc for 7.99 on the xbox store i couldn't resist it and now bf1 is one of my most played games in the past couple of weeks

A lotta LOVE was put into this game. You know it was a Passion Project for DICE. Easily the most cinematic and immersive Battlefield title to date. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Shame on you DICE
I first played Battlefield 1 on my Xbox when it first came out and I was waiting for a sale on Steam so I could play it on my PC. This was the perfect opportunity to play it and I’ve been loving it.
The mosin nagant marksman’s rifle was hella underrated as a sniper rifle. I miss those satisfying ping sounds whenever you nailed someone in the head, 200 yards out.
I loved Bf1 it was my first battle field and its still my favorite all of the old interesting guns the wide beautiful and fun maps with the perfect mix of choke points and wide open spaces/defensive positions the guns all have their own characteristics that truly matter just everything about the game sucked me into it.
i never understood people complaining about little to no gun customisation in WW1 and WW2 era games in a game like bf4 of course there should be because attachments are a thing but its good that its limited in WW1/2 games
Even if battlefield 1 isn't regarded as the most expansive battlefield game ever, or the best battlefield, it did something no other Triple A game has done before and it did it really well for a video game. This game was so incredibly original in the experience it delivered and it felt very fresh to play, even in 2022. In a day and age where everything is futuristic or modern, or even just WWII-oriented, DICE set out a plan to deliver something truly special, while delivering a genuine historical dialogue on one of the world wars that is rarely ever discussed. That has a lot of value in it, I believe.
started playing this after years of playing BF3 on ps3, and it was so good, immediately hooked. Perfect soundtrack and visuals, and when the gameplay heats up it is just so amazing. Also melee kills just feel so satisfying in this game
I sort of wish they just used Battlefield 1 as a base and had the next game (BFV) as a game size story and multiplayer expansion to the second world war. Doing this would have allowed for interwar conflicts to be included too. Whilest keeping the feel and look and balance that made bf1 so good.
I got BF1 when it launched, but never got into it for some reason. I never even experienced the DLCs and was so sad thinking I'll never get to play them. Well I recently convinced a friend to get it on PS4 and how pleasantly surprised we are! The game is by far the best BF of recent years and has a nonstop only in BF moments. I am delighted to say my dream has come true and we consistently find full lobbies in all game modes, and more shockingly, are able to find full servers running the DLC maps. I'm so happy to be able to play this glorious game again.
At 10:00 you survived the rifle frag nade (it did 96 dmg), but you were standing very near a tripwire bomb you put down yourself, and the rilfe nade detonated it, killing you just after you got the frag nade damage. Never hang around tripwires :D Once on operations on St. Quentin Scar our team had cleared an enemy trench/capture point from enemies, and about 10 of us were standing around waiting for the flag to be captured. A scout on the team put down 2 tripwire bombs right were we were standing, and an enemy airburst mortar set them off, killing like 8-9 of us in one hit instead of doing 50ish damage lol. I've probably died more to "friendly" tripwires than enemy ones.

For me it was Frontlines. You had to actually hold your territory and slowly push your way across the map and there was a lot of back and forth (just like WW1)
Conquest is the worst Battlefield mode for me and of course it's by far the most popular in every game.
@@peerschulz2029 ahhhh back when frontlines didnt have a timer lmao. Games would go on for literal hours.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this game, and I am kicking myself for leaving years ago.
That track you put in at 1:00 made me cry Not water my eyes, I genuinely cried out loud. I never cried over a game soundtrack or any song for that matter.
Guess I’m dead on the inside then.
Dude, Flight of the Pigeon
@@L0Lr4ndoms That, too.
Just EPIC
....
Everything you could possibly happen happened when I passed the controller to my friend. He bought the game the same minute
@@Jefftarnish kolibri isn’t a one-shot kill my ass 😂
@@dbean5174 look man I enjoy absolutely broken things when presented in a funny context.
I reckon bfv was pretty good too.
Man I miss this game. I'm going to download it now.
While Battlefield 4 was great and I love Bad Company 2 to death, I honestly believe Battlefield 1 was the absolute peak and I'm afraid Battlefield may never recapture such high level of polish and overall quality.
BF1 has a special place in my heart, glad to see its still alive and kicking!
This game is a personal favorite it truly is muddy, bloody, and makes games that you will remember. It still one of the best looking games too
Pro tip enemy's marked with the trench Parascope outlines the marked player and vehicles
You could report hackers, but I'd still see the exact same account a week later doing the exact same crap.
well bf5 had more cheaters
Nothing better than a one shot Martini Henry kill confirmed sound
> watches Drewski vid on BF1.
>> opens Origin.
>>> loads up BF1.
-wipes tear from eye-
Cheers for reminding me how much a gem this Battlefield truly is, mate.
I loved Back to Basics when it actually had players 😢 Hopefully now with the new players we can get back into the custom games!!!
this is a absolute master piece. Even dice today, lost their ability to recreate a game like this.
That transition at 00:15 tells you everything you need to know. A 6 year old game runs, looks, feels, and plays infinitely better than 2042 because of the difference in effort and talent.
It was 350 Turkish Liras for me,until the 88% discount made it 33 Turkish Liras.Since it continues until 5 January. I'm so happy rn
Same thing was said about BF4 worst game ever in the franchise. Years later it’s being hailed as the last best BF ever made.
If they really wanted to, Dice could’ve included other conflicts Post-WW1, such as the Irish War of Independence, Spanish Civil War, and other various wars that took place.
Keep up the awesome work Drewski and keep kicking ass!
I’ve always loved that little chime noise that comes in when you get a kill. So satisfying!
Battlefield 1's soundtrack, the faithfulness to the history and the cleanest gameplay, all contribute to this being the best Battlefield
If you love their soundtrack then you wont regret listening to ace combat zero song
@@ArkFisted Well ye. ACZ it's great game... But it's way different from BF1
Haven't played in ages, see you on the battlefield!
I think the biggest complaints I saw about BF1 were mostly about the guns themselves, especially the SMG's like the Hellrigel
Other than that a lot of people did really love the gem that is this beautiful game
its WW1 use a bolt action and a bayonet😂
yeah there were a lot of complaints that its not realistic, the game is more of a reimagining of the first world war, its more of a 1920s/1930s setting while keeping the nation sides of the ww1, and also the narration (like operations) is if as it was real ww1
but it wouldnt be as fun if there were no automatic weapons, its a staple of shooters
Still can't believe that for a game that old it looks better than the shit we're getting today.
Well disminishing returns of graphics.
A leap like PS2 to PS3 is impossible in 6 years
1:01 left me tear, especially during the warstory dreadnought mission.
Bf3 and Bf1 forever some of the greatest fps's of all time
The sound design and music for Battlefield 1 was absolutely EPIC
Leaving warzone 2 and going back to this beauty.
This makes me so happy to see......BF1 has always been close to my heart since launch, I've been lvl cap since Apocalypse released and been playing strong every since, and to see so many new people falling in love with the game as I once did makes me feel really good
Are there any iron sight bolt action/sidearm only servers? That would be a blast.
Back to Basic servers? I hope there are.
1:02 OH GOD, YOU GOT MY HEART OUT OF NOWHERE! That song, from that campaign, god it make my heart sink. Who to think that music from a game can hit like a goddamn truck!
Play it everyday still is amazing!!!! Servers are up everywhere!
Same for me :)
When i saw the version with all the dlc for 7.99 on the xbox store i couldn't resist it and now bf1 is one of my most played games in the past couple of weeks
I reinstall every game you showcase in your videos. You are the ultimate re-salesman.
Battlefield 1 was my first and favorite battlefield game and you have no idea how happy this makes me.
I will never play another game that I will have so much fun in, feel so immersed in, make so many memories in ever again. Truly the last hurrah of the glory age of gaming BF1 was.
Man that moment when our squad whistled while rushing at the beginning of grand operation man that atmosphere was insane till this day I never got that feeling yet again
Bfv is also absolutely amazing. Not sure why people never appreciate that game
No, it's soulless crap.
BFV was a woke mess of a game. They focused more on sending a message over making a proper WWII game
A lotta LOVE was put into this game. You know it was a Passion Project for DICE. Easily the most cinematic and immersive Battlefield title to date.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Shame on you DICE
I come back to this game for about a month a year and love it. This has something special. Bf4 and bf1 just hit different.
Seeing full servers on frontlines again is just the best.
1:01 God damnit drewski!!! I shed a tear, that song is so so SO beautiful
this is how actually battlefield should be played that communication between the teamates is good i had a feeling i was watching an arma video xD
That push into the bunker at 6:30 was so epic
Incredible how, at least visually, BF1 seems published after BF2042
20:00 def got in trouble for that one lol
i never understood people complaining about little to no gun customisation in WW1 and WW2 era games in a game like bf4 of course there should be because attachments are a thing but its good that its limited in WW1/2 games
Gotta mention bf1 is littered with hackers now it’s ridiculous
would love to go back to BF2 (2005) IF they would release some HD graphics pack.
started playing this after years of playing BF3 on ps3, and it was so good, immediately hooked. Perfect soundtrack and visuals, and when the gameplay heats up it is just so amazing. Also melee kills just feel so satisfying in this game
I remember bumping into you recently in Battlefield 1, super cool to meet you in game bro
the voice acting in this game is so good
I sort of wish they just used Battlefield 1 as a base and had the next game (BFV) as a game size story and multiplayer expansion to the second world war. Doing this would have allowed for interwar conflicts to be included too. Whilest keeping the feel and look and balance that made bf1 so good.
After all the games and years later it still looks dope.
28:02 omfg what a beautiful transition!! XD
