How Much Does It Cost To Travel South America? - 6 Month Budget Breakdown

Whenever I pick a destination, I like having an idea of how much it’s actually going to cost me to travel there comfortably. Luckily for you, I tracked my entire budget every day for 6 months while travelling through South America. I didn’t get to go everywhere, but four countries in six months seemed pretty good to me!
I broke my travel expenses down into 6 main Categories. Which include Food, Accommodation, Transportation, Tours and Activities, Necessities, and extras.
ALL COSTS ARE IN CANADIAN DOLLARS!
The costs are as follows:
Food: $2,942.19
Accommodation: $2,079.39
Transportation: $1,649.09
Activities/Tours: $2,108.38
Necessities: $486.33
Extras: $1,478.51
All coming together for a grand total of $10,759.04. Which works out to be $60.79 per day.
Keep in mind that these are expenses that are directly related to my trip and my experiences but your trip may be different. Your itinerary can be completely different to this one, either cheaper or more expensive, but this is a good base line budget for 6 months of solo travel in South America.

Can easily do 4-500 a month, just have to make your own food. If you want to eat out all the time add another 2-300.

Also I have 2 video ideas for u! Personally I’d like a story time of your ER experiences and also a video where u break down what you packed for the 6 month trip; What backpack did u use? What are things u wish u brought with u and what are some regrets? You get the point. Hope u continue doing videos!
