I get where Anna is coming from but at the same time I feel as though the negative comments or reviews on Kanguva are directed to the director itself, not to any other aspect of the film. I've watched the film, me being a cinema lover and someone who encourages any new attempt given to Tamil cinema, I didn't like Kanguva. Simple. My criticism is purely based on the director and his writing. And the movies anna listed, yes generations before us failed to uplift them, the same who enjoyed "masala films". But today's generation are different, it's today's generation that are craving for AO2 and movies like Anbe Sivam. Not movies like Aranmanai and so on. If you're argument is that we (the negative reviewers) are condemning "attempts" like Kanguva, then you're wrong. We the same people who "condemn" Kanguva are the ones who "condemns" Goat, Vettaiyan and so on. On flipside, loved Amaran, Meiyazhagan and so on. Endhiran 2.0 was a great attempt, but certain technical terms like Aura had to be explained in a simple manner for everyone to understand. And Grandeur alone will not work for a movie. Gone are those times, to be precise - the pre-covid era. Now we all have access to world cinema. The taste has changed. We discuss a lot and it is human tendency to do an Apple to Orange comparison. Didn't we all make Maanadu,a blockbuster, eventhough it had a complex concept. How was that possible?. Attempts have to be honest and genuine, and movies with an emotional content will only work wonders at the Box Office. Talking about the Sound Mixing, I haven't watched the movie. But it is of grave concern as leading Sound Engineers like Resul Pookkutty and Srejeesh Nair themselves, have talked about this in Social Media. This is not applicable only for Kanguva, but for many movies that have been released recently. This is an important factor where the creators have to take utmost care. Of course, not all theatres are equipped with best Audio Systems, but tuning them is also a biggest factor. This movie is a 3D movie and it is an USP especially for kids. So when kids come to theatre, shouldn't it be a pleasant experience. Yes, war movies are loud. But War movies are even being made outside India. What kind of sound quality are they giving us?. All said and done, simple is the most complex thing. Genuine attempts are always welcome. But taking audience for granted will not work anymore. Indian 2 is a best example.

I 100% agree for your view bro, but not for Kanguva. All the other films you mentioned deserves to be mentioned even Baba is a good film. I 100% agree for your view bro, but not for Kanguva. All the other films you mentioned deserves to be mentioned even Baba is a good film. But Indian2, 2.0, Kanguva kinda films in which Concept and Idea is whooping but the execution is lacking. Being a Rajini fan, I accept 2.0 is a bad film as it is truth.. Kanguva and Indian 2 are good concepts wasting for a bad screenplay and execution.. If they said the whole story in 1 part itself it would made much more impact than present impact..
