@@Pontus-Osterlin Have you ever said that you were a music teacher? So I always just expected you to convey your feeling about the music and your appreciation for Angelina's performances. Plus a jaw drop is an appropriate response to what she can do with a song. Mike is lucky it isn't me that is the reactor, unless he likes seeing an old coot cry 90% of the time. I think you do just great everything is from your heart and is 100% honest. I don't think you can get better than that.
Less jaw drops? Impossible!! By the way, the reaction concerns primarily Angelina Jordan’s cover (this is why I am here), so I think the reaction was more than okay. I don’t think that everybody should dissect the whole performance, focusing on technical issues . Some videos are about sharing emotions about certain performances, and this is what we have here.

Im all jaw drops too, but my expectation for these kind of videos is for analysis and i was many minutes in and just more jaws hit the floor. Im sure a songwriter writes a sad song by first crying over a boyfriend before putting it to music but my expectation for a song is also not the sound of someone sobbing continuously for 3mins. If u want my analysis on things just request i am happy to oblige but i havent the bandwidth for spesking into cameras at length , diff strokes
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the other singers you showcased are showing us how well they can sing, while Angelina Jordan is singing the words to us, from her heart and soul! Hope you understand what I mean! She’s the one that brought tears to my eyes!
I think you’re absolutely right 🤗 but of course you have to take into account the circumstances too. However Angelina’s focus seems always to be to bring out the emotions in the songs and she has this remarkable ability to transmit those feelings to her listeners.

I had not watched the performance by Whitney and Mariah from the Oscars before. Leon Jackson did the song justice. I still spend the majority of my music listening time by listening to other artists but when I return to Angelina, I become more convinced of her greatness. Angelina plays in a league all by herself.

With every song she sings I find meaning within the song that didn't previously seem to exist, because it was just a song🤷♂️. But when she sings it, the song suddenly becomes what it was supposed to be. She elevates it.

I agree, the others had some emotion, but seemed they were more interested showing what they could do vocally. Angelina exuded emotion, not caring what she could or could not do, just wanted the message out their, that's what makes special and above the rest! My opinion and I'm sticking to it! God Bless!

And then she keeps surprising with what she can do. One thing is sure. When Angelina puts her mind and heart into anything she excels and brings her heart along with her. So in Now I’m The Fool and Love Don’t Let Me Go from her new EP she apparently has no trouble at all bowling us over with her music and gestures.
I am a fan either way and so adore her quieter motions as well as seeing what else she does and what else she has to say.
There's Angelina! Never show up. Always unpretentious. Exposes the lyrics of the song as a warm, tender, and heartfelt tribute to hope. Believe that you will overcome a time of danger and fear. As so often, Angelina does not copy but makes a brand new version of this famous song and she gives it authenticity. Magical!

I was never a fan of vocal gymnastics. Where is the meaning,, the heart and soul? To me, there is none. Just empty words. Leon, the less said the better. . But Angelina's gift: is to reach out and touch your soul. It's a message I very much need right now. Feeling pretty hopeless.

Have to compliment you on your choice to show the other versions. Never cared about glossy, hollywood style, mainstream pop. While appreciate the merits of the others, strongly believe Angelina is on a different level. Her ability to squeeze the juices of a song and transform it into an emotional, soulful stream of magic to the listener is so unique to her. Wish could have a new song every week.

I really appreciate the effort that you put into your productions. For me, none of the artists are better than the other. They're all beautiful. However, AJ's arrangement/interpretation into more of a jazzy flair is what I find most appealing. She is updating jazz into the currently vacant space of the music industry. Did I like jazz 2 years ago? No. Do I like jazz now? If AJ sings it, there is nothing better.

She is clearly a miracle gift to all. Singing the lyrics clearly and delivering the message thru her mesmerizing voice and phrasing. Restoring the heart and souls of many to the love and peace within ourselves.
Is there any doubt Angelina is wired differently than all of us? What's so beautiful about it is that she has the ability to assume her role as a lovely young girl, someone who we treasure so much. But, then , at the snap of a finger or, to state it correctly, when the music starts, she becomes transformed into someone who assumes the identity of a messenger of love. Everything Angelina sings tells us love is beautiful.
Often times, people wonder how she can emote such strong feelings about life situations which she has never experienced. Well, that's true, of course, but we are missing the point. Whatever the experience was, it dealt with love in one's heart. That's the connection. And, because we feel her love in our own hearts we are receiving the message.
Angelina knew what she wanted to do at a very young age. Again, we must not miss the point. She wanted to sing and become a superstar? Yes, that would be nice. Nice, because it would give her the opportunity to express the love in her heart to the masses.I believe she was inherently blessed with the purpose of bringing love to the world's people and probably started getting an idea of what was going on when she was about 6 years old.
Are we going to get an explosion of sorts when she gets older, describing her mission with a robust delivery? No, never. Angelina is very soft spoken and words will never accomplish what she wants us to believe. What's robust about Angelina is the aura that surrounds her wherever she goes. Radiating love to all. Did you need a speech, or prompting, to feel Angelina's love? No. Her pure genuine soul does all the work deep within her. And, she uses her instrument, her voice, so beautifully to sing messages of love to us.
Why do so many of us keep encouraging people we know to listen to Angelina. (And, throw in a handful of strangers, too.) It's because of the way we feel. We are on cloud 9 and we want everyone else to join us. People with warm hearts will receive Angelina with an open heart. People who have had problems expressing love, or have had depressing circumstances to deal with in their lives will not understand Angelina at first. But, one day it will happen. Their hearts will open up and they will sob uncontrollably and realize Angelina is sharing her love with them.

I'm following Angelina beautiful path since 2015. Yet I don't understand what is IT that she has. A new technique? A new style? A new timbre? I don't know. What I know is this: there is nothing, no one that sounds like her in music stage today. She is an unique and wonderful artist, with an unbelievable voice. Angelina is doing it again. After hearing it for the first time, I was overwhelmed and confused. I didn't know the original song, so I made up for that. Angelina covers the extremely difficult Oscar-winning song by two of the greatest female voices in music history and, with her Angelina's spirit, turns it into something spectacularly new and more than does justice to the original. perfect is an understatement here. Just saw this on TH-cam and she is soooo good. She won Norway Got Talent at 7yrs then went on America’s Got Talent at 13yrs. I have really enjoyed watching her talent and have not been disappointed

Pontus, Angelina has the unique ability to interpret lyrics written by others and draw from them every ounce of pure emotion that the lyrics call for. I'm from the UK and remember the average winner of the X factor 2007, I also remember the 1999 Awards with Mariah and Whitney watching Angelina singing the song just reiterates what a different level she is at.... can't wait for the album.

I am amongst those of us who are not great fans of Whitney and Mariah, I wouldn't take anything away from them nor their obvious talent, I am though disappointed to hear again Whitney adding words that the composer had not written,. The awful ",oh yea" half way through,
Angelina heard and felt the original lyrics and thought she might sing it as it should, just as the composer wished,

One day in the future, when they will hold a tribute to Angelina, unfortunatly she will have to sing the song all by herself, because no one will come even close to her perfection. Also, no one will dare to copy her songs in the future. Unless, another vocal miracle arises.....To me, this is the best voice I have EVER heard. It is the soul in that voice, that really kills. And the decency never to oversing a song.

That exact thing happened at the 2014 Norway's Got Talent show. Angelina just finished singing acapello when the young judged looked at the other judges and smiled.
I know it's like swearing in church. This song is sung by two of the world's greatest icons, but I actually prefer Angelina's version. Not just a little more, but a lot more. SORRY! But I'm not really going to say that, as it is somehow not appropriate to dare to say it. But this is now my taste.

The contrast here is telling. Whitney and Mariah are no doubt performers of the highest level but Angelina is an artist or maybe even more so a storyteller. Being present at the duet performance would likely cause one to remark about the power and vocal fireworks they displayed. But after hearing Angelina one is more likely to recall what they felt or heard, what lyric or message touched the hearer. Angelina here, as she so often does, somehow makes the connection personal (coincidentally not unlike the singular connection a modem used to make to a specific network before internet days). Angelina don't need no stinkin choir to really touch us...but recall one of the few times she had one, singing "Something's Got A Hold On Me" - a completely different type of song, and she had the entire audience eating out of her hand. Great reaction and commentary sir.

I loved the way you gave us different takes on this beautiful song---the original with the two divas, the X-Factor guy, then Angelina. And you're right, she made it a different song. Slowed it down some, softened the volume with her wonderful whisper-voice, and omitted the last verse. I felt the meaning of the lyrics much more with Angelina's version. She seems to always make her performances about the song, not about her. And by doing that, it becomes about her. Because you look back a say, look what she did with that song, and how SHE made me Feel what the song is all about. She does that time and time again. Her devotion to the song is a logical fit with the person she is: humble, kind, caring, and loving. Thanks again Pontus for another great reaction to the Fabulous Angelina. 💕💕
