Now we just need to stop seeing 59-60hrc m390 in excellent designs... Let's start seeing 62+HRC m390 in premium models with excellent designs, give the user a premium steel that performs as a premium steel should.
Didn't see anything id really use. My favorite small fixed blades. Watchman we222 14c28n $31 BPS Aura N690 limited edition nolonger available $45 shipped BPS FinLite 1066 $21 Coldsteel mini pendleton hunter Aus10 $13 JeaBrother 14c28n $29 Coldsteel SRK-C sk5 $35 Anyone of these knives i would consider a real survival knife. In my opinion after many years of survival training and classes. Survival is when all your regular equipment is lost or missing. So all you have is what's on you. In those cases your most likely to have your most carried knife. I always choose my pocket knives to be able to accomplish certain tasks. Carving, being able to clean fish and game. Easy to sharpen. Comfortable to use making fire. I usually cross baton very hard wood. Great test. Anyone of those knives will do anything needed. Id put those steels against any expensive knife.
First fixed blade I tried to edc was the esee izula 2, it was ok. The bulky plastic sheath sucked. The Bradford guardian 3 is the knife that made me enjoy carrying a fixed blade, its such a great knife! (I do hate the leather sheath though, so I got a kydex one). My favorite fixed blade to edc is is a Carter Cutlery Perfect Neck Knife. The bradford is a better value, because hand forged knives aren't cheap. Another one I like is the kershaw skyline fixed blade. Blade HQ did a limited run back in the day with s30v, carbon fiber scales, and a great kydex sheath. I really wish they would bring it back with some updated steel.
Kydex is so awful though mate and cheap. The leather sheath they supplied looked pretty decent albeit with rough edges and a very unfinished state it should last years with the way I saw it constructed. I would've comissioned a custom leather sheath over Kydex any day for that badboy, kydex is just way too cheap for such a nice knife.
@escapetherace1943 Mine lasted a month before it started falling apart, that's why I got a kydex one. The belt loop ripped in half. All the kydex I've owned has held up super well. I've only had to adjust one after a lot of use, but after some work with a heat gun it was as good as new. Leather is nice, but I've lost more leather to wear and tear than I have kydex.
The Dacian would be great if it was priced around the $150-$175 mark. The fact that you have to custom make a better sheath with a price of over $250 makes this a resounding ______ no! And yes, I do own Benchmade knives, and no, I do not recommend paying full price. They not worth the extra expense. I was able to snag an Intersect for about $150.00, and at that price, it’s nice! Keep your eyes peeled for deals, trades, or used ones at pawn shops. Good hunting my fellow knife addicts!!!
WESN? rofl. 225 for china-made and only s35vn, that's insane. Now your best choices here are the Bradford by far, the big Idea and the best small ones are CRKT and CIVIVI
@@onelifetolive4847 Yes, it’s just $60, but unfortunately, getting it shipped to where I live is nearly impossible. Even if I manage to find a way, the shipping costs often end up being more than the knife’s actual price. 😔

EDC for whom? Barista, mechanic? EDC for what? Opening boxes, prying ? EDC for what area ? Saltwater island living, Wyoming ranch work? For example. I am a mechanic and first responder on one of the Alaskan Aleutian Islands. I can tell you, those knives are not worth the weight to carry for me. From the views that these small knives and folders get, I am obviously in a very tiny group 😂
Not a single decent custom blade, not even 1! I thought the title was a joke at first… a few average at best production blades, and literally one of the worst cheapest piece of junk production blades on the market. Calling middle of the road unmentionables and some legit trash “the best”. I was gonna say good one and throw in a laugh but I watched about 30 seconds of the video and you guys are actually serious with this 🤯 Depressing. The state of our community in this day and age, just sad!
@ if I’m going to call a knife the “best” then it should at least be a good knife and the rest is opinion. In order for a fixed blade to even qualify as being the “best” it should contain high quality materials, have unique/individual characteristics, great ergonomics for the intended purpose, solid sheath/carry system, and be 100% made in-house by someone who knows metallurgy - heat treat - and a good bit about whatever the knife is intended to do. Thought this was common sense, but I often forget not everyone knows the basics! This review took almost nothing of importance into account
@ they’re not bad from what I’ve seen, haven’t tested any personally though. I don’t know that they’ve actually ever been tested anywhere. As a designer he’s good for sure… as a bladesmith? Does he know his metallurgy? How’s his heat treat? Does he do everything in house and maintain 100% quality control? I can’t answer those questions so I’m not going to say that his knives are some of the best in the world since I don’t have enough information.
Would be cool to have a whole video about pocket carry fixed blades. I tried to do horizontal carry but it just wasn’t as comfortable as a folder plus im not the biggest fan of walking around with a knife showing on my belt
We are honored that the Axon Fixed Blade made it in your top 9! Thanks, guys!
I love that knife

@@150_ENGINEER thank you!
Omg you put the prices next to the links?! Subbed.
The last 3- WESN, Vero, and Tactile were the only ones I was interested in and did not disappoint.
A deep carry pocket sheath/clip makes a word of difference for edc fixed blades
I really like the Tactile Dreadeye! Thanks for show this!
You left out the benchmade intersect...my new favorite edc ever🤙
That’s a Bradford Guardian 3 not 3.2
I’m sad my AK1 from Boker didn’t make it. Legit my all time favorite edc blade. I never leave home without it, board shorts or jeans.
Loving that Guardian 3's patina!!!
The Watchman WF221 in 14C28N has been treating me very well so far. For $25 it's hard to go wrong.
Nice video. These were all awesome picks but I think one knife was missing the Schwarz overland sport.
Great video.
Viper Handy should be considered for people looking for an EDC fixed blade. Great magnacut blade with very ergonomic handle.
Very nice. Out of my price range but good to see.
I really like the Kizer smolt in cpm-3v. Low price and extremely effective blade
The Kizer Smolt and mini harpoon in cpm 3v for 60$ are also great options
Though I appreciated all the knives, I'm also intrigued by that ruler. What is it and where can I get it?
😂
TJ Shwartz confidant in Magna cut.
$185 for a piece of m390 cut and sharpened steel is not worth it …giant mouse is overpriced!
You should add the Walmart Swisstech Litche D2. $40 a very good little budget option. A super good little sturdy blade.
I love the Dacian design, but the jimping all the way to the tip seems like a lot of fracture points if you push it far enough.
Bradford sells the bit for the two prong screws.
Where is the Boker Barlow BFF?
Didn't see anything id really use.
My favorite small fixed blades.
Watchman we222 14c28n $31

Benchmade and its pricing is no longer a friend to the common consumer.

im headed to ole mexico to sell my kidney just to be able to afford one of these :)
nice picks, but seems the Eafengrow fixed blade line EF121 to EF151 seems to fly under the radar. there are many videos about them on youtube though.
Eagengrows have a terrible heat treatment, they are priced accordingly, cheap because they are cheap knives

There's not a single knife in this video that I would choose.
