Hi, Shari! I love the look of this and have followed the progression of the under-painting....SO lovely! I went to your supplies list but it didn't say whee your RF photo came from - It's awesome. Much nicer than the RF sites I am using! Love your inspiration! Thanks and big hug, cat
Lovely transfer, Shari! The background really gave this photo an antique mood. Can you tell me if that was printed on regular copy paper? It seems a little thick but maybe I'm wrong. It transferred nicely onto the wax.
Hi Its Just Me, and thank you so much ! Yes you are correct , and you can always find exactly what I am using supply wise including brands etc on the full blog post for each video on my web site. Here is a link to this week's post with the supply list www.sharireplogle.com/shari-replogle-studios-blog/wax-on-wednesdays-amazing-inkjet-transfers-on-encaustic . Have fun !
I have done some photo transfers. I don’t understand how the sky part become “translucent “ and allowed your pattern to show thru but yet the buildings appear to have transferred just fine. I would think your patterned painting would be covered up with the sky from the print. Am I making sense with my question? It is because it’s encaustic
In a print, the whites are just made up of the paper - so, when you rub the paper away, any lighter areas become transparent and dark areas sit on top.
It needs to be a pigment inkjet print rather than a dye-based inkjet - pigment ink printers are becoming more readily available, but you have to research to figure out what ink your printer uses.
OH MY, I just fell in love with your TALENT & Skills, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

What medium did you use for the gelli print? Mine are generally done in acrylic but that wouldn't work with wax - thank you
Can another photo be transferred onto this final surface......another layer?
Hi Anastasia , yes you can if you add another layer or two of encaustic in-between

Why does everyone say no Ink jet transfers?? This looks great !!
