One of the greatest upright bipedal locomotive performances we will ever see. Makes it better when it comes from someone who truly loves to dance through the wilderness .
Nick, thank you for sharing this awesome moving and inspiring running film and what a great accomplishment! The skinned hands, clinging stinging chollas, dry air nose bleeds - man against the mountains, canyons, and desert but also at one with them and all the beautiful miles. Namaste. 🙏
Mad respect for what you did. The trail is no joke. You could feel your highs and lows and everything in between. So glad you brought us along for the adventure.~heartrocks
You are amazing and such a wonderful video! I watched it this morning, and this evening I heard Peter Gabriel’s song “ Don’t Give Up”, thought of you and cried tears of joy. May you continue to set more records! ❤🔥💪
Congratulations on an incredible achievement!! You aren't the only one to miss that right-hand turn. It made me miss out on prickly pear ice cream at Colossal Cave. 😢 I think you passed me and friends up by Snow Peak at night in the rain. Congrats again.
Nothing like upping an FKT by taking moments to video the beauty and raw emotion. Special mention to the turtle, pony, and gila monster highlights. Thanks for sharing your real self, and what it takes to make an FKT. How many would restart after 2 days in and 2 days rest? Bad Ass to the next level!
I’m still just giddy about seeing the tortoise. I saw 2, but the first one never came out of its shell and was much smaller. (I didn’t see any tortoises when I hiked the trail slowly in 2023.)
I resupplied 3 times. I don’t have a blog. I had a daily update on my IG @nick.fowler.says.hi and here’s a link to my trip report for more details: fastestknowntime.com/fkt/nick-fowler-arizona-trail-az-2024-11-09 Hope you get out there! You’ll love the trail! (Although it would be pretty cold on most of the trail a month from now.)
There's section of the AZT just south of Fisher Point. A logging company harvesting trees (Miller Timber Service), and they've absolutely destroyed the AZT. Wiped it out. Complete disregard for hikers.

Thanks for the encouraging words while I was out there!

Man, I love hiking too! This was a roller coaster of a video buddy, thank you for being so kind, humble, welcoming, and an overall badass!

You are a legend Nick! Amazing that you were able to take the time to record a video during an effort like this. You are an inspiration!
Thanks for the kind words!

I live in Florence and have done a lot of the sections from the 4 peaks down to Kearny - Gnarly bro, you're a hero.
Thanks Nick! (Great name btw)
Great freakin accomplishment!! Enjoyed the Free Outside episode. Keep flying!
Way to go Bro! That was epic, pure emotion got you to the border. You should now be a motivational speaker.
Epic, happy trails!
Happy trails!
This was amazing!!! Did you have any additional support? You just carried everything on your back??? Amazing!
No, I had no support crew. Everything was self-supported. Carried everything on my back, but I did resupply food/gear 3 times.
@ that’s incredible!
Good job!!!
Gracias
I can’t wait to finish watching this! 🎉
Holy cow dude can you explain the logistics of this all do you have a blog or anything. Nice work. I was dreaming to do this trail in a month.

It’s kind of neat to think that you didn’t even realize you were filming thru-hiking history when you started the trail.
Hiking is neat!
You’re neat
Such an epic video and accomplishment! But you dont bring toilet paper?! Ummm how do you manage that?
Thank you. I use water. Check out backcountry bidets. Water cleans far better than TP does.
Pushing the limit
Love it
Watch out for them Tarantulas. I have seen several out there.
how was picket post to kerney that section is brutal
