Great job although I wish the customer would have chosen a nice vintage color scheme like turquoise and amber stained birch panels. How did you secure the fridge and A/C units from sliding/shifting around during transit?
Thanks for sharing! Just got one myself…. Thinking about extending the bed and putting storage underneath similar to how you have. Is there any reason why you didn’t make the access door to the underbed storage wider? Just wondering.
Hi Rob. This looks like you are having fun. I'm looking at one that has a Serro Scotty Sportsman logo but it's only 10 long. The question you might be able to answer is related to ground clearance. The trailer sits 12" above the ground but has a drop in the center that is only 4" above the ground. Will this be a problem? I'm not a trailer camping person but since my wife will no longer sleep on the ground I'm looking to upgrade Might I remove that drop down section to make it higher clearance? Thanks
That camper has been like that for 50+ years so it would seem it would be ok. Try to tow it level and you could put 15" tires on it to raise it up as well. Good luck. Scottys are great campers
I reused the frame, the windows, the door, the lights, and the skin. I did not want to compromise the customers safety by rebuilding with rotten wood and moldy insulation. My intention is to take campers that are headed for the junkyard and safely put them back on the road to be loved for another 50 years. I think you will see more of that in episode three tomorrow. Thank you for your feedback.
Awesome videos! We’re rebuilding a 1966 Gaucho
Good luck on your build. Thats a great trailer.

Thank you. Small trailers are so fun to build!

I secure both with lumber around places that won't let it move in transit.

No reason. You can customize your door width to suit your taste. Thank you for watching.

How does the A/C drain?? New to the Vintage Camper World.
Some newer AC do not have a drain. The fan splashes the water up to the cooling coil and it evaporates. Otherwise you have to install a drain.
That's not a rebuild. That's brand new from the ground up.
