C'est tellement parfait que ça ne valait plus la peine, après ça, d'enregistrer d'autres versions, si talentueuses fussent-elles...

Here again Haskil and Markewitch !!...I'd wish that they record the whole Mozart Concertos.
It is just great, not to reach..
Frau Haskil was indeed a genius! There is certain Lyricism in Mozart, it is very difficult to catch and demonstrate, and she was the only who could do this. If you force it to be Lyric, it dies...So is it in Mozart... it comes only by Easiness, not by force...This great difficulty could she overcome. Only was she superior in this.
Mozart, is very difficult to play.

@@RaineriHakkarainenWell the "best" is quite relative subjective ain't it? It does smells a bit to much as conforming to idea's also it includes that you have listened to every possible rendition of no.24 in many cases leaving you seasick ? I did not try Pletnev or Sokolov as being born after 1920 most do bore me, now one could say that is conforming to such idea as well. Sadly in general, with the passing of generation, beside a few exceptions musically it goes down. Technically i yet have to see a pianist that surpass Godowsky or Hofmann :) I would be suprised if i will find a more lovely rendition with Pletnev or Sokolov, what about Edwin Fischer ?

Charlie Chaplin once said: 'I know three geniuses in the world: Clara Haskil, Einstein and Churchill.'

She has a beautiful, consistent touch, but the piece hardly seems worth the trouble.

What do you mean by „the piece hardly seems worth the trouble“? The c minor piano concerto is one of the greatest piano concertos ever written!😅
