- Yes The CVC Westy Syncro is about to be reborn!
Our iconic VW camper that many of you will know about from our van trip shenanigans from back in the day died and was at a point of no return and any kind of economical repair. That said... when you owe so much to something we just couldn't let this be the end of this vans life!
There have been times when our lives as a family relied on this van to keep us on the sandy tracks ahead and has taken us as far north as over and above The Arctic Circle and as far south as across parts of The Sahara Desert! The videos we made of the trips we achieved in this van is what gave us a connection to you all and in turn some how organically moulded what CampervanCulture.com as a sustainable business is today. We have you and this van to thank for all that is CampervanCulture.com and the opportunity for a future full of freedom and adventure ahead.
2023 brings you a new video series from us that is, "The Return of the CVC VW T25 T3 Vanagon Syncro Westfalia"...

Great to see the ol’ Westy resurrected. You are largely the reason I purchased my ‘90 Westy Syncro in 2016. It’s been a game changer for my family with memories to last a lifetime.
And I think it’s Kirk at NorthWesty. I trekked across the US to see him and have some work performed- had a great experience.
Glad we helped your family with those memories.

fantastic work, great to see you back uploading. good call painting it yourself. you wont be afraid to scuff it up and can always give it a quick refresh every few years if needed. keep the bodyshop money and use it for the future trips!

I need to do lots of body work on my van soon, I will probably paint it myself as well. The idea is that if I scratch it I can fix it for cheap and it doesn't matter in the long run. $10k for paint when the body work is already done is crazy.
I know, I thought 10K was a bit rich personally.

Long time no see, I miss my shirt I order from you some years ago but would put in a new order soon when my life turns on the good side again, get the "bug" again and start checking some vids of T25 and T3´s and maybe if Im lucky I will own one in the future, or why not 2? :)

Hi. I stuck with the 1.9 TDI AFN as it has been a great engine. Russell just tweaked the set up a tad to make it even better.

It is a bit sad to see having it just as a company display but this is how things work.
Just have it epoxy primed under the wrap or it will rust again bad.
It will be out on new adventures in no time. Thanks for the heads up on the primer. I already bought some :)

Notice at 16:00 that your square headlight mount which is welded to the topside of your lower nose panel is missing. Will need those reattached to fit your headlights. I had an absolute nightmare experience with the panel fitter/painter on my van who never put these back on. If you know where to pick these up that would be helpful.
The old ones were saved from the panel that was cut off and we later fixed those back with rivets

Been missing your videos! Now I understand why it’s been quiet, sorry about all your troubles with the syncro, really happy for you getting the bodywork 100% solid again though and looking forward to the getting her back in action again videos. On a side note, just fitted one of your pop top lift assist kits yesterday, such a difference, thank you!

Good times ahead. Not a totally new block but very low miles. It got stripped back by Russel and had a good look over before it went in. This one was the 2nd engine I sent him up as the first one wasn't up to scratch enough for him.
