You are adventurous and determined to explore places where most people would dare not go. Thank you for sharing the amazing beauty of nature and landscapes!
Thank you for your both beautiful and informative video. It was really nice to watch. I've read two recent reports from tourists trying to climb Ras Dashen. They stated there is now a military facility on the summit and the peak is no longer accessible. Tourists are being turned away from under Ras Dashen and they are not allowed to ascent the lower summit either. Did you get some information about that situation while on the trek? In my opinion it will have a negative impact on local people and tourism in the region, as there is now not really a good reason to continue the trek beyond Bwahit. Did you have any problem arranging the trip as a solo traveller? I mean like having to pay much more than a person in a bigger group. What was the cost btw? I am considering a similar trek, but don't know if there is enough tourist traffic there to join some group and fear it will cost some astronomical money for a private trip.
@@rafalkozubek That's interesting news about Ras Dashen, because although my guide said that it was possible, I also heard from an organizer in Gondor that it was impossible (although he wouldn't tell me why it was impossible). There also was another group that was going to Ras Dashen but I don't know the outcome of the trip.
@@rafalkozubek Arranging the trip is easy enough. I just heard from a friend that the guide and scout will be provided if you just go to the park office in Debark. Unfortunately there weren't many people going there at the time and it may be hard to find a group. And although the 4 day solo trip was reasonably priced, doing anything longer (you can trek up to 12 days) would probably be prohibitively expensive.
Right from Harriet the traveller 🎉
