Wonderful thing that Rabbi Mansour digressed here. He said everything I’ve felt and wanted to say for quite some time, the REAL TRUTH. Straight from a real Tzadik. Thank you Rabbi for keeping it REAL.
No you are wrong the problem with Catcher in The Rye is it promotes sadness and depression as a " Deep" thing this was the philosophy of the beat generation of the 50s and 60s . The philosophy was if your not angy and depressed you are just superficial and stupid but if you depressed your deep and intellectually superior . Judaism teaches us that all sadness and depression leads to SIN . CATCHER IN THE RYE IS A PERSCIPTION FOR MENTAL ILLNESS ! AS FAR AS A GOOD SPEAKER is concerned Donsl Trump is a bad speaker and Satan is the best orator
Ridiculous. "Doesn't rely on rabbis" - good, that should make his points easier to address, since you don't need to check to see if his references are within their proper context. You can just see if his logic works based on the merits of the arguments themselves. "Arizal says..." - who cares what Luria says? What's _his_ basis? Which rabbis did he rely on, since you think that's so necessary. It's mystical nonsense without precedence in prior texts. A bunch of ad hominem attacks and straw men instead of actually addressing Dweck's points, which were about societal acceptance of people who identify as gay, not accepting the act of homosexual relations. There's a difference between action and identity, the latter of which is a social identity which developed in the past couple hundred years. This was more of a prominent subject of inquiry after Foucault's History of Sexuality. "The speaker has a prejudice, I'm not sure what his prejudice is," then don't say he has a prejudice with such certainty. "I've never seen anyone who talks about these topics," so then don't talk about sociological phenomenon instead of relying on the opinions of a bunch of worthless "saddiqim" with no aptitude in the modern social sciences or humanities. Good for you that you have a "great library." Stick to the content contained therein. Couldn't get past 15 minutes of this garbage. No nuance, no reason, just fanaticism and blind fidelity to rabbis.
There is no “modern context” for the Torah. The creator of the world wrote the Torah. He knew exactly what society would be like these days. That’s why these rules are so emphasized. Think about who gave us the Torah. He was wrong?
@@uria702 The Torah was "given" by a bunch of authors over hundreds of years, which reflected the values and norms of the iron age. It's not an inerrant text. Regardless of that, since both Dwek and Mansour accept Mosaic authorship, you're shifting the argument. Nobody said there's a modern context for the Torah. It's that there's a modern context for identity. Identification by sexual orientation is a modern phenomenon, which is what Dwek was talking about. The Torah addresses an action, not an identity. Those aren't the same thing.
@@Mas_Tun the Torah was given by the creator of the universe on Mt. Sinai to Moshe Rabeinu. Without understanding that, your comments are worthless to any Orthodox reader. I didn’t even read the rest because we disagree on creation so nothing else of your opinion matters to me.
Rabbenu Yona Gerondi writes in Shaarei Teshuva 3:148 that anyone who praises disgusting acts or praises evil people is totally evil himself and desecrates the service of Hashem.
Not did Rabbi Dweck condemn the gay Synagogue in California from where he came, nor the gay march in London. He was silent then and should have remained so.
Who did chacham Baruch throw out?
Is he referring to haRav Faur?

Granted, the Ari had his own Rabbis, the RAMA"K in particular. Saying the Ari didn't rely on Rabbis is unfair.
@@wannaberabbi9302 I didn't say he didn't. But he was an innovator, for better or worse

Meir Wise yeah. Except he’s not praising any acts.

Shameful comments.
Homosexual relations is shameful and abominable.
Your comment is a reflection of this alma dishikra
No, homosexuality is shameful!
