This Warthog was very smart here. He knew that if he turned his back or used too much of his energy, he would've been an absolute goner. The lad stood his ground and only charged when it was necessary. He absolutely deserved to survive this battle.
Usually they would have forced him to expel more energy and wear him out by attacking from the rear like they always do to hyenas and even lions. But they didn't do that in this video. Wonder why
Your thoughts and comment show your lack of what it is you don’t see in the clip. It’s just risk and reward played out. The warthog is intelligent enough to know that the dogs present a danger but if it stands its ground the dogs may not attack and the dogs are intelligent enough to know the warthog could be food but the risk of sustaining injury prevents them attacking such an agile, fit, quick and dangerous target. The dogs were already starting to lose interest when the zebra ambled through.
This warthog handled the wild dogs outstandingly well. I am very impressed. The 2 Zebras showed up like the cavalry at the end of a good action western movie.
like all dogs these live for the chase they will not attack unless the prey is running if faced by an opponent with formidable weapons rather than getting injured or kill they will leave to live another day

Yeah, i'm sure you missed the the very 1st comment with the most amount of likes that is a joke about zebra referees! You totally didn't copy that comment so you could get likes!
@Spotted Hyenas Well considering I grew up between Australia and South Africa and I'm an animal enthusiast, I would say you don't know a single thing about me aside from a comment on TH-cam, so I'd kindly say you're dead wrong. But next time you want to race bash anyone, point the finger at yourself next time you wonder why prejudice still exists in the world. Cheers!
Incredible footage! Watching the Warthog stand its ground against a pack of wild dogs is already impressive, but the timing of the zebras' arrival was nothing short of spectacular. It’s fascinating how the interplay between these species highlights the complexity of survival in the wild. The warthog’s bravery and the zebras' unexpected intervention demonstrate the unpredictable dynamics of nature, where every moment can shift the balance of power.
What is notable also is that the predators are not growling and baring teeth, as is usually the way Hollywood portrays predators with anthropomorphic viciousness. They are hungry, not vengeful. They are also conserving their energy, protecting themselves from the warthog's horns (teeth?) and strategizing. I know they need to eat, but I'm glad the warthog got away.
The warthog is teaching us lessons about self defence: never turn your back to an assailant or a predator! His size is also pretty intimidating but his confidence and muscle flexing helped a lot. No doubt the warthog was lucky the wild dogs were probably not hungry and chose to tease and banter instead. The zebras were God sent to break the ice and give the warthog a new lease of life.
Sadauki Sadiq Well put. I have read that gazelles leap into the air to show predators how fit they are. It's important to exude confidence, especially in tight situations. I would prefer any death to that of death by hyena or wild dog pack.
@Sadauki Sadik well said. Another lesson is that while the Warthog did posture aggressively, it didn't go berserk and charge at a couple of wild dogs...Which would ultimately lead to an all-out battle in which the Warthog would end up getting lynched. It did just about enough to keep them at bay until the beautiful Zebras arrived to save the day.
@@princexl33840 I've never heard that about wild dogs. I know that they are one of the most successful hunting predators with an 8 out of 10 hunt being successful and also they ensure every member is fed. Even the young will share what they have with other members of the pack.
You can learn a lot from watching how animals fight. If you are ever in a multiple fight gang attack here are some pointers I picked up. This was a 1:12 match! 1. Attitude is everything. Don't look weak and indicate weakness. The warthog stood his ground and looked ready to charge. He did not falter. Importantly, he did not make weak charges but charged a few times when necessary to get the dogs to back off and keep a critical distance from him. Its a waiting game. Once you engage, its full on and only for a few seconds. 2. He never gave his back to any hyena. He kept the brush behind him and kept those dogs in plain view so no ambush. 3. He never ran. When you run, you concentrate the whole pack in one direction toward you, and its your back. Furthermore, if you run, the attackers gain speed and momentum to launch themselves on you with force. Bad idea. 4. In a multiple attack, look for an opening and charge into it, coming out on the other end and facing attackers again. If you keep them in front of you in a 90-180 degree half circle, they will bump into each other when attacking. They also cannot gain any speed or momentum and have to launch attacks from standing. A car cannot fly at 60 mph with no ground to build up speed. 5. Conserve energy until needed. Warthog feigned a few darts but no real commitment. He held energy in reserve. Fights last 10 secs at most and then its over. You have 10 secs at maximum force, all out till you win or are killed. The one with energy wins. Your opponent can also get tired just by waiting to pounce and pick an easier target. 6. Zebras walked as a pair, not separately. They were tight together so dogs could not cut off access to the other and surround each one. 6 dogs can bring down a zebra. By sticking together, they could bite or kick in a 360 degree angle fending off 6 dogs each easily. What the dogs have is nimbleness, speed, pack attack. What zebras have is larger size, huge kick strength, pretty good bite, and sheer bulk. 7. The zebras hate the dogs as much as the warthogs, so they joined forces in chasing them off. Common enemy makes for unusual friendships.
This is the game of nerves. The small young lone warthog is really bold that has kept the whole pack of wild dogs at a respectable distance for quite sometime and consequently saved the day to enjoy a second life.
