Great job! Don’t mind the negative comments from the so called “pros”. Great weathering and you’ve given me some great tips on what to do with my F-16c! Thanks!
Great build up! I wanted to let you know, as an FYI, those ‘fins’ on the top of the nose are IFF (Identify Friend/Foe) antennae, also comically referred to as ‘bird slicers’. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much! Funnily enough I have just released another video on this beast but a revamp for 2024, so if you enjoyed that I am sure you’ll like that as well🤙🏻
We worked on the developed that system back in the late 1980s at Edwards AFB. It was originally slated for Block 30G production, but never made it into the production line until Block 50. Some F-16As and F-16Cs have been MLU’d or CCIP’d with AIFF retrofitted back into them, since it’s one of the critical BVR target recognition systems for more enhanced employment of the AIM-120C5 and later AMRAAMs.
Just got this kit and can’t wait to build it. The f-16 is one of my favorite fighter jets. It’s going to be my first time building this kit. Thanks for the great tips.
Another incredible job my friend!! I’ve been binge watching your videos and while every single build is gorgeous this aircraft and the f-4b phantom are two of my faves!!
You did a nice job. I don’t think the weathering is too much. Your pilot turned out well too, especially for the first time. Well done. I just got this kit today. I don’t see anyone build the US Navy version so I may try that.
Great build! ...I really like the way the F-16 looks loaded down with ordinance & even the Conformal Fuel tanks ...but this paint scheme works really well with your 'clean' build! Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you very much! I completely agree it felt a little naked when I finished it off, I’m eyeing up to do a SUFA Viper at some point as they just look mean as hell all loaded up! Thanks for the comment😁✌🏼
Love the detail and weathering work on this one. Beautiful job man! 86-0314 is an F-16C Block 30D, first was assigned to 35th Tactical Fighter Squadron Wolf Pack in Korea, then later assigned to Alaska in 2007. It had the paint scheme you did up until 2022, when it went to a splinter camo scheme with the same colors.
Great video. I love how you show how you build this model in close up. I have this kit in my stash. Really enjoyed watching your work. I subscribed after watching this video. Please keep it up. Greetings from Belgium.
Amazing video, just ordered the kit and can't wait to build it. Just wondered what you used for the weathering in terms of the black lines on the flaps, same for the white lines on the actual fuselage as well as the metallic weathering within the cockpit and on the seat. Thanks
Thank you mate! Yup, so those are panel washes (oil washes) and for the lighter colours I used a black or dark brown and for the black aspects of the camo I used a white wash! Hopefully that helps😁
if the video didn’t convey it enough get tamiya!! it’ll just be a much nicer building experience! thanks for the comment and feel free to send me a dm if you need any specific tips!
That’s me sold! I was going to get this kit and do it in the arctic scheme I’m also a fan of the heavily weathered finish, yours looks great buddy keep up the good work! I’m currently building academy’s f-4b in 1/48 and just got to the painting stage so can’t wait to get it looking nice and bartered 😊
thank you very much bud! the heavily weathered look is very much a love or hate situation… i am also working on a f4 at the moment but by tamiya so i’m looking forward to making it insanely grimed up😅
I’m sure I will, loved the f-16 and it inspired me to order the kit from Amazon today lol hopefully it doesn’t get lost in my ever growing stash! The tamiya f-4 looks epic same scheme as the academy (sundowners) I believe? I want the tamiya one but thinking of a nice dirty Vietnam camo for that one
i can’t wait to see what you do with it! i’ll most likely be picking another one up so i can do another aggressor scheme😅 i love a good nam scheme… possibly one of my favourite schemes to do just because of how well the colours compliment each other!!
Beautiful job. Question. You don't show any gluing. Do you in fact glue anything or is it all just press fit? If you do glue, what glue do you use? Cheers.
Our jets aren't nearly as dirty as you've weathered this one to look. The splinter and Flanker paint schemes are nice in that not much shows on them. But it is annoying when you have to take panels from one jet to another since there are 3 different color schemes and 3 patterns. No jet will get as dusty as this one unless it's been deployed to southwest Asia. And no JHMCS for the 18th because we have Block 30 F-16s that haven't received all the fancy upgrades because we're targets. Have at you!
thanks for all the information!! i really should do more research… when it comes to the weathering i think i mentioned in the video but for this one i was going for more of an artistic approach (not realism based). None the less a huge thank you for all of the information it’ll be used next time i make one of these :) other than all my mess ups on the realism side i hope you enjoyed :)
I only know what I know since I'm in the unit currently. Always interesting to see these videos and how well someone can make models look like more than just plastic bits stuck together.
Why do I feel like I'm the only person that notices when the directions do this? On this build, step 3 literally tells you to use the same piece C8 twice! Then every time I run into an issue like this, build videos completely skip the step. In the video you attached the cockpit, piece A17 to A24 , then the engine intake part J24 to A24, then skip the C8 pieces for the horizontal stabilizers and attach G1 to A24 sealing the area closed. It tells you to use the same part C8 on both sides in insert poly caps and that is just skipped.
My apologies sir! As this was one of earlier videos of mine, the detail and quality was a little questionable. I appreciate how annoying this must be so my utter most apologies. Hope this doesn’t put you off future content😔
@Mach Models, can you address my question instead of just loving it? I've been through 3 other videos now and they all skip over this without even mentioning it.
Sorry buddy, not completely sure what your question is… you want to know what happens in step 3? Also I have recently revised this build recently on the channel, that might help? Sorry again 😔
@@machmodels It just feels like there is more to it than that. I have now watched 4 different builders on this same kit, all 4 skip this step without even mentioning it. One of them even goes through step 3 with the instructions open, attaches the cockpit, then the next piece then skips the C8 step that is right in front of him without a single word on it. It's so weird.....
Hmm not too sure then, I do distinctly remember that I forgot to put poly caps in this build which caused me a massive headache! That was rectified in the updated build. Perhaps people get so sidetracked by the intake and cockpit they forget it. Weird one!☺️
Great job! Don’t mind the negative comments from the so called “pros”. Great weathering and you’ve given me some great tips on what to do with my F-16c! Thanks!
Thank you very much! Those comments are just part of the TH-cam game I have come to find!😉🤣

I'd been eyeing this one, love the aggressor schemes. Glad to see it's typical tamiya quality. Great build and finish!
i think i’ll be getting another two of these kits so i can have the trio of the schemes! thank you very much i’m glad you enjoyed :)

Same here! Absolutely love the viper, so aggressive… best of luck for the build!! Thanks for the comment😁✌🏼

thank you mate!! i couldn’t recommend this kit more it was just such a joy to build… i’m thinking of picking up the kinetic one to see if it follows!

Excellent 👍

The F-16 with over 4,000 built unique jet fighter. Besides the Norwegian Air force & Belgian air force, Hungarian air force. ❤😊👍☺️🤗

I do use Tamiya Cement, however, for videoing purposes I prefer to show you the dry fit just in case it requires multiple takes😁👌🏻
Nice weathering 🤩🤩🤩
thank you!! glad you like it :)
Excellent build, definitely have to do one or two of these tamiya 16's.

Seriously? No crew chief would ever...?
Really poor quality.... you could have done a lot better.
Thanks for the comment! Funnily enough remaking this kit as we speak so perhaps you’ll tune back in to see if I have improved!😝
Poor quality? This looks like something Picasso would make
It looks like he focused a lot on weathering while he didn’t give a damn about parts like the engine nozzle or the gear bays
