If I lived to 1000 years I would not be able to play like that. Such beautiful ornamentation and timing. Not flash, just classy and very very traditional.
She reminds me of the way grampa played, I think of all those years we sat knee to knee in that little corner playing those great fiddle tunes until his altimers got so bad. he could only remember the first 8 or 10 notes of a tune he had played a hundred times or more And no one in the family bothered to record him What a shame Grampa Left Me In 1956 ~ I Miss You Grampa ~ RIP ~
Proof that a loose tension on your bow can bring out the rhythms and percussion of a tune! And Eileen can get away with it because of how much of the bow she uses. Another point to disprove the naysayers out there against fiddlers, look at how high she holds the bow but how MUCH of it she is using. Not that I care - I'm a fiddler through and through. I'm just justifying my own technique 😇

Saw her in Riverdance. She fiddles better than I breathe! She's fantastic.
Her people are from Kiltimagh, Mayo ,so are mine. Such dexterity on that fiddle is phenomenal!
