The best version of Slip Into Spring by far. So much more energy then those that came afterwards.

Wow, these are big shoes for future performers of this tune/piece… I know there have obviously been numerous other iterations, versions and Riverdance band members since the 90’s… but the dynamic between Eileen and the rest of the band, notably the percussionist, set the standard! It came so easily, mainly because Eileen is like this in her own career, regardless! Bouncing around, so much energy, using Wah-Wah pedals, all kinds of wireless electronics-which is normal nowadays, but was pretty avant-garde for an Irish fiddler in the 1990s. This is why she’s called the Hendrix of fiddle, not only her improvisational skills, but just altering the sound, making it sound like a guitar.

The dancing, the choreography, the variety of Riverdance is awesome but the incredible music this group produces is the glue that holds it all together and can bring tears to your eyes. Every dancer and musician must be exhausted after each performance!

This tune always makes me smile and weep , slightly, in pure joy. Always helped me with thinking and doing math when I needed to balance brain. I Love it so much for other reasons as well, but always jazzed me up, just love it. Man that percussionist is amazing. Heck, all of them are so amazing, what a feast for the senses, and the thoughts and memories, even if we don't understand how the music makes the scene in your mind words even not understood are still magic. Language is magic.

Same. She was featured a lot in Riverdance, rightfully so, and it helped that she was already a solo star in her own right by that point! She must’ve been on her third or fourth solo album by the time Riverdance came. Plus, she was an original, New York-born member of Cherish the Ladies, with Joanie Madden, Mary Coogan, Winnie Horan, and all the rest of them…

Nobody is better than the queen of electric fiddle, Eileen Ivers. I haven’t been hugely impressed with any of the “modern” musicians in Riverdance; they seem far too classically-trained. Mainly the fiddlers. They’re more like violinists “branching out” and trying Irish music. Obviously, I can’t speak for them all. And nothing is wrong with being classical, but can you “swing” like Eileen? Not even like Eileen, can they swing the way Irish music is supposed to? Eileen has classical training, and here and there it is evident, but in general she’s a fiddler- it’s all about the rhythm, the feeling and the sound.. and the subtle variations, which, in recent iterations of the show, have appeared rather “stiff”…@@johnskelton1117

    Hi there!
Does anyone have a clip, when is she playing on the same show, but like "dueling violins", mean in collaboration with another violin.
I definitely remember such a video. The main my interest was not in her performance, but more in playing lead guitar (more likely the same blue colored as her violin), playing in hard-progressive-rock-style.
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards,
    NPeganov.
