- On January 18, Indonesia’s Parliament approved a bill to relocate the country’s capital from Jakarta to a new city to be built on the island of Borneo, named as Nusantara. The decision followed growing concerns about the long-term sustainability of Jakarta. The move to the forested province of East Kalimantan in Borneo has, however, triggered its own concerns about the environmental impact there as the massive project now kicks off.

India should do the same. New Delhi has its charms, but it's now feels like out of breath with heavy pollution problem. Instead of focusing in the central vista project, government should have utilise the resources in building a new capital (greenfield?) in a really central place. But it's easier to say then done, because India is a multifaceted complex political nation.
Nonetheless, India should focus in building some quality planned cities. So that the existing cities can breath properly and new cities can cater the needs of new age population.
Moreover we need smart villages with all necessary amenities. So that people can live more peacefully and compassionately with each other.
New capital should be made in andhra pradesh..........

In India opposition went crazy over redevelopment, changing capital can be fatal. I don't see capital getting change one of the reason is cuz it has historically been the capital of the region since the time of Mahabharata.

Nearly everywhere in Indonesia is biodiverse and full of rainforests. If you say that, then Indonesia will not be able to move its capital anywhere and the people will suffer. Environmentalists never think about social or economic consequences, just a bunch selfish rich people
