    I've watched other videos on this topic and I found this video to be the clearest for a new beginner. Thank you so much.

    Excellent tutorial, Kasia. You explained it thoroughly and in a very understandable manner. I found it most helpful and well worth my time watching it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of this program.

    Thank You for this video! It did help me 100%. I did get confused when you were showing other ways to do things because you didn't say 'WHY' you were doing it before you started showing us. I had to figure out why after and then watch the section again. Maybe I'm not as smart as others. Thanks again.

    This was perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Like others, I've watched a dozen other videos to try and make sense of how I wanted to keep my photo folders organized. This...this is how!! After watching it I was like, "well no sh**, I'm so stupid". Sometimes it's the simplest of things. A new session created for each photo shoot folder I have on my NAS.

    Thank you Kasia for this excellent tutorial, and the easy way you have explained how to manage photos in CO. I m just starting with this interesting software. I come from Affinity Phooto which I love and have used for more tahn 5 years.

    Very clear and so much useful for me! So if I have lots of folders with photos previously catalogued in dismissed LR, and I want to edit them in C1, best is to use session favorites in new sessions pointing to their own folders, for not copying photos again in sessions capture folder?

    Very helpful video! Thanks!
    I've got a problem now: I need to format my PC and then I just want to know how to restore the very same sessions (with all photos and modifications) which I've created so far and backed up in an external drive. Can you please tell me how to do? Thanks a lot!
    Antonio

    Hi Kasia,
    Excellently explained! I am just during the 30-day C1 test and I have created folders ... you think there is a chance to copy RAW photos along with adjustment from folders to new sessions?

    It seems like there is no info on importing images "from your Fujifilm camera to Capture One"... Software recognizing a Fuji camera is actually plugged into your Macbook?

    Hi Kasia, very well explained, thank you so much for sharing your skills (and develop mine ;-). How would you deal with a session to be copied into another session with all changes made so far? There is an import session feature for catalogs and i wanted to merge two sessions into one. BR, Uwe

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are welcome Uwe! Copying a session into another session - just open 2 sessions. Then make sure that into the target session you have the LIBRARY tab opened, since you need to drag files from the other session here, to the "Capture" folder. Just remember to select images that you want to copy and drag them from the Browser (of one session) into the Capture folder of the target session. All the adjustments should be copied along with the selected files.

      @@KasiaZmokla That's great - exactly what i was looking for. I just wasn't aware of opening two sessions (my default is open session in existing environment). Many thanks, you made my day!

    Excellent video very good explanation thank you . However ...can I please check with you ....do these methods ever create duplicate files on the hard disk please? Thank you

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, happy to help! Regarding the "duplicate files" - no, Capture One never touches the original Raw files, all the adjustments are saved in one file located in the subfolders in your Session. If you are using a Catalogue instead of Session - all the adjustments for all your Raw files are stored in a database. So you will always have a Raw file + adjustments save separately. Next if you wish, you can export your images to a file format and size that suits your needs - eg. JPG for Instagram, TIFF for print and so on.

    Very good video, although I still don't understand one thing: is there a way to import files into session WITHOUT copying them?
    Like, I plug in the SD card, open C1, create new session and click on 'Import'. And I want to import files from the card to Capture Folder, without copying them,
    physically move them, but C1 doesn't seem to allow it :(
    Also, greetings from Poland :)

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bartosz, so you want to move images from a memory card to a session. This means importing them to your hard drive and then removing from the memory card. Did I get it right?
      If yes, then I see there is an option at the bottom of the "Import" window in C1"Erase images after copying" - this should do the trick.

    • @bartosznorek5691
      @bartosznorek5691 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KasiaZmokla Yep, this would be it, but not... exactly? I want to move the images themself, actual files my camera took. Although it seems not possible... :(
      Thank you for the answer anyway!

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bartosznorek5691 Do you mean you want to move RAW files? You can write in Polish if that makes it easier :)

    • @bartosznorek5691
      @bartosznorek5691 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KasiaZmokla English will do :)
      Yes, RAW files (though jpeg as well would be nice), but using Capture (because then I can do backup simultaneously) not by Windows Explorer/(Finder on Mac?)

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bartosznorek5691 How about creating a new session first, then plugging your memory card? When the "Import" pop up window will come up, you have now the possibility of selecting the "Capture" folder in your new session (Import to > Destination > Capture folder). This will place all your RAWs inside the "Capture" folder. Let me know if that helps :)
