Oh the joys of boat ownership! Don't be too hard on yourself. I have seen many newer boats stranded on the water, broken down by the side of the road, and having all kinds of electrical problems. Don't give up on the boat. It's aluminum and very re-buildable. Anyone who has owned a boat has experienced many of the same problems. Patience.
Dude I feel your pain. I had leaf springs snap on me at the ramp, a bent axle, the handle broke off my winch, jack for the trailer broke off, guide posts rust out and fall off, and the cherry on top is my batteries were not getting charged by the motor while I was out so I ended up stranded with no power too many times. Over a period of a year I replaced all that on my own and replaced my voltage regulator rectifier and fixed my charging problem. Everything is perfect now and that feeling of confidence is priceless. Give it some time, come back to it later and don't give up!
I feel for you Lawson. I had a boat hit me and sink a portion of my boat. The electrical system was never the same after that. I recently moved to SW Florida and intend on purchasing a bay boat. I have owned 4 Ranger bass boats and intend to purchase the 2360 Ranger Bay Boat shortly. I stand by Rangers boat. When that boat hit me it ended up on top of my Ranger. The front end of my boat was pushed down by the weigh of the other boat but it didn't sink. We pushed off the other boat and the front end my Ranger bounced right back up. I ended up with a small 6" by 6" ding in my Ranger. Other boat had a cracked hull. Since, that day every boat I have owned has been Ranger. Ranger is expensive though, last time I look around 115K for new 2360. With Biden inflation I don't know what it might cost currently. Good luck and I will continue to enjoy your channel.
I know how you feel. Nothing worst then boat issues over and over again. I finally after going through lots of boats over the years have my boats narrowed down to two that I am throughly enjoying which are a brand new 2021 Sportsman 214 tournament sbx which l truly love “it’s like a bay boat and flats boat hybrid and the best of both worlds” and a 2016 gheenoe classic which is perfect for quick backwater trips and skinny water adventures. I am done buying boats. I will just maintain these until I’m to old to fish. Tight lines and good luck
Hobie pro anglers are probably the best kayaks you can get. Peddle powered and you can add electric or rig ur own gas motor. Lots of room and storage, and very stable.
Oldtown autopilot is a better fishing machine. Spot lock, you can troll and cast into the mangroves which is the type of fishing Lawson does. Pro angler when it comes to fishing does not come close. Period
If your looking to get into the kayak scene my guy you won't regret it. It is a freaking riot. If you want the best peddle drive kayak get a hobie pa 360. If you want a kayak you can paddle with ease, add pedals to later, or even add a trolling motor weather it be bow or stern mounted one with ease look into Nucanoes. Definitely check out the unlimited or pursuit. They are super stable and complete open platforms so you can customize it any way you want
If youre looking to get into a higher end kayak, I’m absolutely in love with my Native Slayer Max 12.5, by far the most insane kayak I’ve owned. Its pedal drive and has ample space, virtually impossible to to tip unless you’re actually trying to do so, and about 1-2k cheaper than some of the Hobie’s with comparable features. If you’re looking for a good vendor in your area, look up Native Watersports in Jensen Beach. Ted is awesome and very knowledgable. I highly recommend you give him a call, he can definitely set you up with the perfect kayak that will suit your needs!
If you are looking for a family friendly boat you can take offshore but also fish inshore i reccomend the SeaHunt 211 Ultra, its more of a offshore boat than a inshore ( draws 1'1 ) but rides nice and for the price its a really good package. You wont be able to get real skinny with it but the high freeboard makes the boat feel very safe. I'd be happy to take you on a seatrial on mine if you are near the Hobe Sound/Jupiter area!
Can't help you too much on what Bay Boat to choose although I'm going through the same research myself at the moment. In the interim, my Wife and I just bought two Bonafide RS117 kayaks. Super stoked as I upgraded from fishing on a paddle board so I 'm looking forward to having more options with the kayak. Not gonna lie, when you mentioned kayak in this video my face lit up and I got a little excited. LOL! I'll try not to preach to ya but I've owned a ton of different vehicles. Mostly off road. Problems are part of ownership but I can see where it gets frustrating and I completely agree that when it's time to throw in the towel, it's just time. The good thing is that you recognized it early and you're not wasting anymore time on it. Good luck with whatever you choose and I'll be here enjoying your videos along the way. You're doing great so far kid. Keep your head up and keep pushing. We're all here rooting for you!
Whatever you do, or whatever direction your life takes you Lawson-- film it and post it. We are here for YOU. Always have been. I've seen people catch fish before. I've caught a few myself, but THIS-- this is content. This is real life. You're awesome, Lawson. Let me know how I can help. I'm sure many people here feel the same. Keep your head down and keep moving forward.
Recommendation for a kayak coming from a bigger dude to another bigger dude. Either go with a wilderness system Atak 140 (literally a barge, but easy to maneuver with pedal drive) or the regular Hobie outback with the upgraded fins. Wouldn’t recommend the Hobie PA due to its inability to go really shallow/having issues in wind.
You should get a C-Dory 22 and do some overnight fishing trips! Also, maybe you have a fan out there that is willing to help redo your bass boat and make it a reliable flats boat? I feel like a flats boat is key to inshore fishing and anything else is a compromise.
Bro u have no idea. My boat hasn’t touched the water this year because it’s so frustrating…I’ve just been camping. Always something with these dang boats
Lawson, I have been a long term subscriber and I don't think I have ever left a comment but I will now. Keep your head up. I know at times life can be overwhelming but the folks who watch your channel are rooting for you. Keep moving forward and we will still be here. I love my 21' bay boat I got because of the same reasons you just listed. Strength brother!
That exact model tracker was a nightmare for me too. Got rid of it and got a gheenoe lt25 and have been in heaven ever since. But I can definitely respect wanting a boat for fishing and time with the fam. Definitely get rid of that tracker.
If you’re looking for a decently priced well quality bay boat with flexibility between family fun and fish slaying… definitely look at some 2010-2012 scouts! Scouts are some quality boats, the name isn’t huge and stupid overpriced. You’ll be able to do everything you said in it
Really looking forward to kayak vids. I have a Hobie PA 14. I love polling it along the flats and sight fishing. It’s a tank to lug around and it can turn like a battleship when on the water at times but it’s super stable and it’s got a huge fishing deck! Also it sits you up higher than other kayaks so I can spot fish when peddling along. Love it.
I spent 5 years kayak fishing in a Tarpon 120 and finally in December decided to make the upgrade to a Hobie because I was tired of losing big fish when they pull me into the mangroves when I'm in Florida and even home in fresh water you just can't fish and paddle at the same time. I decided on the Compass since I have to get it on top of my Grand Cherokee for transportation and this is lighter than the Outback and much lighter than the Pro Angler series. Modified it to my liking and finally got to use it last month when I made my annual trek to southwest Florida. What a gamechanger that was over the paddle kayak! Not only did I catch a new PB snook (30" which isn't a monster but I only get to snook fish a week out of the year!) which I never would have landed in the old yak but I also caught my first and only tarpon which was the thrill of a lifetime! I can't even imagine buying a power boat, I never fish more than a few miles from the ramp anyway and who needs the expense and constant maintenance a boat requires? I love my new kayak and I think you'll love one too if you get one that fits your purposes. Since you have a truck and thus don't need to lift it over your head to load and unload you have a lot of options because weight isn't of paramount importance.
Though costly, pathfinders are the best bay boat on the market. Spent a lot of time on them and everything is built perfect and laid out as it should be too. Tons of other good options out there too though!
The only kayak that is hands free, will let you stand up and fish mangroves while covering areas, can spot lock no anchor needed and all stock from the factory is the old town autopilot. You can TH-cam videos and it’s the #1 recommended for kayak fishing. Simply the best
I have a few suggestions. I own an Ascend kayak that I got at Bass Pro Shop. Great great affordable kayak, they range from $600 to about $2500 fully decked out. Super stable, I stand up in my 10 footer and sight fish no problem. The 12 should be even better. As far as a bay boat, I own a Majek Ultracat and it’s one of the nicest boats I’ve ridden in. Runs scary shallow and super dry once you get going. More of a shallow water than an offshore hull but they make other models that are hands down some of the best in the business. They’re a local manufacturer to me so I’m somewhat biased but if you read up on them or watch some videos you’ll see what they’re all about. Sorry about the run of bad luck with everything happening bud, I’ve been watching your videos for a long long time now. Been through everything with you along the way so it’s like watching a friend going through a struggle almost. Keep your head up man, you got your health, your family, your faith and a great channel that’s bringing some smiles to us. Don’t sweat it, you’ll get back out there and have a biggin’ hooked up before long. God bless and tight lines brotha!
Don’t worry about a thing Lawson we all see the type of Person you are. A man with Good Heart. Everything has a purpose in Life. Your Blessings has been fulfilling. You’ll have a boat in God time. Keep up good work Budd.
I have a 13’ Vibe Seaghost one of the best kayaks I had so far. The options are limitless, you can install a fish finder, gear tracks for Go Pro stands, and lastly you can put a Bixpy J-2 outboard on it so you don’t you have to paddle lol (make sure it’s registered if you install an outboard on it by Florida law). Great choice btw it will be a great investment for the channel and cost efficient at the same time and good bye to maintenance
Hey Lawson. Sorry to hear about your struggle. I’ve been there before lol. So after I got rid of my older 18 foot boat that gave me struggles, I thought about getting into kayak fishing. A brand of kayak you can’t go wrong with is hobie or native. Ik a few people that started off as kayak fishermen and they got stuff done. Even took a kayak out to catch king fish. But in the end they advised me not to get a kayak cause it not worth it in the end goal. Plus a really good kayak will run you about 7/8 grand depending on which brand you get. If u want a cheaper brand I think west marine sells some really decent ones with peddle drive but it is still around 4grand in total. Honestly the best thing I ever did was buy a new gheenoe classic high sider. Not too expensive and they are literally just microskiffs. I go out into the bay for bonefish and permit and into the glades for redfish snook and tarpon. I got it decked out with poling platform and push pole and a new tohatsu and I didn’t break the bank. But I’m the end whatever you do, we’ll always support you and make sure to not drive urself nuts in the process cause everything will work itself out.
As far as you wanting a family, nice riding, good in big water but runs shallow, I recommend a trans cat boat, we have had ours for over 10 years and we have never had a problem with it, I live in Texas and we often run out of our jetties to the closer rigs and fish for tarpon on our beach front but we are still able to run in nearly a foot of water with a Yamaha 200, we often fish with family but mostly wade fish out of it but I have nothing but good things to say about a trans cat. Good luck with your adventures and keep safe!
Dude I am there! Yeah the specifics are a little different but my entire winter (except for several south FL videos) has train wrecked. I'm talking everything from bad weather to emergency surgery to just bad decisions on my part...I feel your pain! Freaking EPIC video! Look up "keep it real" in the dictionary and there is a link to your video! I'm laughing MAO just to keep from crying. Love you bro! BTW, the lizard stole the show.
I have a hobie outback 180, ive absolutely loved fishing tampa bay with it, very stable platform and it handles choppy water well. Looking forward to the next steps man!
I love my Hobie outback. I have a Hobie compass as well, but the outback is more stable and has plenty of room + 4 built in rod holders. You can stand in them easily and sight cast.
Wiring is one of the easiest things to fix on a boat, I've been where your at. If your situation allows a new boat thats great but notes suck, if your not properly prepared for them andvnew boat have problems all the time. I totally get the need for bigger and more room for the fam.
We've all had days like this. Almost bought a bass tracker until I read about wiring problems with them using them in saltwater. Ended up buying a 2010 Sundance k16 with a 40. Absolutely love it. Had it out on lake George with 40 mph winds and giant breaking waves and it did pretty well.
Thank you for sharing all your fishing videos with us! We appreciate you. We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the lake. They'll surely get lots of ideas and tips from you 😊
Hey Lawson, just watched your vid. Been a big fan of your channel for a while and I live here is south FL. As per bay boat suggestions, I bought a used 24 Pathfinder a few years ago after doing a good amount of research and I couldn’t be happier. Off shore or in a foot of water it doesn’t matter. Also I’ve learned that they hold their value extremely well. I wish you the best of luck and hope you can get tight soon!
Yeah. I know a guide down in Chokoloskee who has a 24 Pathfinder and he swears by them. The only issue there is that Lawson will have to sell his first born son to get one. :)
I get the frustration. It’s always something with a boat. Keep your chin up! The good news is that you have your family, friends, Patrons, subscribers and Reginald (as long as you keep him going with the meal worms he’s accustomed to)!
Man I’ve been there more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes all you can do is laugh, otherwise I’ve come extremely close to losing my damn mind and going off and hurting someone or myself. You’re handling well brother. Keep your head up buddy.🤙
When searching for a boat I had the same thoughts on what I wanted in a boat. I bought a Frontier 2104 and I absolutely 💯 % love this boat. Great for my family, friends, fishing machine and its a dry ride. Plenty storage and space to move around the boat. Takes rough water very well....Quality boat all around.
I've been yak fishing from a 2016 hobie outback for the past 6 years... best purchase i've made. It opens up so many opportunities and gets you in the best situations. Not to mention its a great workout. I do full 30 mile trips in mine and you are never sore or tired until you get to the launch! Elais V Fishing and Fishaholic Fishing are really big into the kayak fishing scene as well. I'm sure you'd be able to link with them sometime.
You should look at the sportsman 21 sbx, I have one on order. Its a great looking boat, and it comes with a more affordable price tag than most other bay boats.
Been there multiple times bud! Keep your head up. Kayak vids would be pretty cool. Don’t you still have the “Bote”? Dust it off and put something on the deck. As far as bay boats, I have a action craft 2110 and absolutely love it. Highest gunnels with a very shallow draft for its size. I was also looking at the Seahunt bx22 when I was looking for a bay. Good luck and keep the positive attitude 🤙🏼
Dam man I’m sorry about your luck lately. We run a 16ft Alumacraft Jon boat but I keep the electronics super simple. Has a poling platform, trolling motor, removable live well, a flip seat. Floats in spit and gets the job done. Past year we built a bay boat. It’s a Sea Pro SV2100. I definitely recommend checking them out. Mine is a 2005 and still looks new. I would love to help you out but live near Weeki Wachee / Crystal River area. If you ever want an easy/chill weekend just come on up. All you need is your poles.
Should have never let the hewes go , it was perfect for what you do. That being said as crazy as the boat market is good luck on the bay boat thing …. Pathfinder will cost you a kidney. Maybe look for a key west bay reef nice boats in the mid tier range.
Yep, just rebuilt trim/tilt on my 2012 Deno Flats 70hp Yamaha 4 stroke now my Baystar hydraulic steering is bad. $360 for the trim/tilt repair I did myself. I found a pretty new Baystar cylinder on eBay for $175 (new $506) should be here next week. I'll reseal the old one and keep as spare or sell it. Just a hole in the water you pour money into.
Yep man we’ve all been there. I just replaced all 4 bunks on my trailer (rewelded) $1K. New trailer bearings, whole boat rewired, both power poles fixed and now my onboard battery charger is out. It’s always something bro. I have a Bass Cat Puma for sale that’s had everything replaced as you can tell.
To be fair it’s wild that tore lasted as long as it did showing cords lol. But that is some seriously bad luck and I feel for you man. Love your content. My boat suggestion I’ve given you on twitch is a 23ft pathfinder, it’s an awesome well made capable boat that could be taken off shore comfortably on calm seas.
Welcome to my last 3 boats…and the reason I now fish a Hobie Outback Kayak..no drama, just splash and go…I am looking at bay boats for the fam though. Lots of good ones out there but be prepared to spend. $$$$$$$!!!
I just got a small kayak to use in small bayous around southwest louisiana, im excited to see some kayak videos!!! your my fav fishing youtube channel to watch. keep up the good work !!!!!!
Frustrating, man. I get it. I am a boat salesman in St. Pete and have a few suggestions and a few things on my lot right now that are available if you're interested. Parker is one of the brands that I carry -- known for being a hardcore, titan fishing machine. They make a 2100 SE and a 2300 SE which are hybrid bay boats with deeper gunwales than a skiff or flats boat. I have one available of both. Message me. World Cat also makes a sweet 235 CC which floats in 9 inches of water, bay boat sized gunwales, but twin motors, twin gas tanks, and nice family seating when you want it. It is just as much an inshore boat as it is an offshore boat. Hope you're back on the water soon. Love the content! I watch every video. 👍🏼🎣
Hey bud, always enjoyed your content. I think in the past I have commented to you about kayak fishing. My suggestion is a pedal drive 100% minimum. I pedal a Hobie but get whatever you wish but make sure it’s atleast a pedal drive kayak. However, Old Towne has an AutoPilot line of kayaks that are really nice but if you happen to have any type of fail there, you will be stick paddling back to the ramp as they do have have a pedal drive system for that kayak. Feel free to reach out, been kayak fishing for 10 years and now currently residing in NE FL.
If your going the kayak route dont mess around and just get a peddle drive. I've had both prop and fin drive and while I prefer the speed and instant reverse of the prop drive the fin best suits my needs since I fish super skinny marsh. Kayaks definitely limit range but no maintenance headaches. Looking forward to whatever you decide to do.
Run from any aluminum boats , go with fiberglass . Try to find a used Boston Whaler for the safety of you're family . Whalers are the best small boats i've ever seen . Good luck man 👍👍🇺🇸
Hey Lawson, sorry abt the boat man. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the old town sportsman kayak. It’s an open faced kayak with a mincota trolling motor Those suckers have INSANE battery life too. Highly recommend it and looking forward to the next video 🤙 Edit: I forgot to mention that they are super stable so you can stand up on them easily too
Disconnect the batteries, charge em up and see if they'll hold charge over a day or so period.. if so, have a wiring issue somewhere drawing serious juice. As far as testing your live well, get a plunger used for flushing I/O's with underwater pick ups.. Wish you luck on this. At least it's not a badly sealed cap on a boat like mine and flotation foam holding water
If you come to Cape Carteret, NC I have a 18' Whaler Dauntless you can used for the day. I have a stream behind my house and we have multiple fishing spots within 5 minutes of my home. I have a guest room as well. Let's catch some fish.
I have a hobie outback, its solid and I love it, get one used on craigs list, make sure it has reverse, if you can get an oldtown sportsman with the trolling motor an spot lock that would be best, they are pricey, the company will probably give you one for the free advertising alone but that may not fit with what you are going for. I have been pretty serious about kayak fishing, I've rigged mine out with a bunch of stuff, easiest fishing, low expenses, no bullshit with motors and batteries, you are the power so its good exercise too. You will love it if you give it some time.
I got a 25 dorado last season best purchase I’ve ever made love it can take it offshore and trim her up and get skinny when needed there a little pricey but what boat ain’t nowadays
When you end up rewiring the boat, you will understand why you had the electrical problems. These boats are not built to saltwater standards. There are a bunch of connectors that make the boat easy to assemble at the factory but a nightmare for saltwater use.
I don't know what to tell you Bro. The tin can is a money pit, but you kinda knew that going in when you bought it. I've got a "tin can" too....a 2002 Crestliner JWMV 1860 SFSC with a 60 hp Yamaha. It's 18', foam filled (ie probably won't sink), 81" beam, and has a live well. I LOVE this boat and I am never getting rid of it. I threw a 70 lb RipTide on it and it is an awesome boat. Kind of like a poor man's Hewes Redfisher. That said, I've put a lot of quid into the boat....engine problems, trailer issues, etc., etc.. If you're ever in Tampa, hit me up. I'll put you on some huge Snook, Reds, and maybe a Tarpon or 2. At any rate, good luck. I really enjoy your videos.
Also, remember this..... If you go and buy a descent bay boat, I'm guessing you're going to dump at least $50K into that boat....probably more. Then, you're going to have to insure it and you're probably going to have to pay to store it somewhere. That, plus you're going to spending more on fuel and you're still going to have to maintain the damn thing. At any rate, lots to think about. Good luck.
Kayak fishing (and filming from one) brings it's own challenges, but also it's own rewards. You can access places boats can't and fish locations better/more thoroughly than you could land based. Stick with it and I'm sure you will enjoy it as part of your fishing addiction.
I feel your pain brother. I’m in the process of converting a Lowe Bass Boat into a Flats Boat and it’s been challenging to say the least. As for a bay boat, My Dreamboat is a Sportsman Master 227 or 207. As for Kayak, get your self an Old Town Sportsman Auto Pilot. 👍🏻👍🏻
I have a Sportsman bay boat, the 234 SBX, and highly recommend looking at the tournament series over the masters. The masters are $20k or more than the tournaments with roughly identical specs. Both are great though, I love all of sportsman’s boats
Bro for bay boat take a look at key west. 19 degree deadrise and foam filled. Padded gunners for bottom fishin. Big casting deck up front. If I downsize from my everglades 260cc and flats boat that's the play. Also tired of maintaining a ton of stuff.
For kayaks I can honestly suggest getting a pedal kayak like The Pelican Catch 110 Hydrive or 130. Cheaper pedal drive kayaks that keep your hands mostly free so you can focus on fishing. And honestly don't feel bad the boat as sometimes you just don't have luck with every investment, I have an old 18 flats boat myself that I want to sell and upgrade too but I enjoy it for the time being, although mine is fiberglass not aluminum like yours is.
Sorry about your tough break Lawson. I did the kayak thing fishing the IRL for a time and then tried out SUP fishing and will never go back to the kayak. I know you already fish from a SUP. If I were you I’d get a Bote Rackham or any high quality SUP built specifically for fishing over a Hobie
Hobie Pro Angler. At minimum the one with the 180, if you can the 360. Extremely stable, you can stand and sight fish, I even cast net off of mine. Hobie also makes every accessory you could want. The live well is great to have.
Check out the 21-24 ft shallow sport “sport” boats, runs in 4 inches of water and handles chop amazing, you can take it offshore with the right conditions and it has walls too!
Man that is brutal! Bust Out Another Thousand... Really hope you have better luck with a kayak! If you can front the bill, the Old Town Sportmans AutoPilot 136 is an absolute tank!
Nobody can say you didn’t try! For the Bay Boats on the lesser expensive side I have a Tidewater 1900 and love it, they make a 2400 and I am sure it would be great for what you are talking about. I fish 3 people from my 1900 with no problem. I can get anywhere I want to from lakes to rivers and have been 25 miles offshore. Will be in Stuart early May and would welcome you to come take a look if you like. Good luck on the search!
Kayak suggestion lure 11.5 with overdrive system and bay boat suggest a pathfinder and just cause I get one this week a beavertail mosquito sick flats boat drafts 4in very good customer service and always keep in touch with you
You want a Hobie outback. Trust me. The pro angler from hobie is an absolute barge. Less draft and far more to pedal. It’s also a slower kayak. The outback is the deal. I’m not the guy to talk to about bay boats, I have a 16 ft Mitzi skiff and a bass boat.
Hey Lawson. We fish Blue Wave bay boats. We have 2 and have toured the factory and explored how they are built, etc. In my honest opinion, they are the best bay boat on the market. Suzuki outboards. Hit me up if you have questions. We know a ton about them.
We’ve all had those days bro-I dig how you stay positive through all the mess, lol. Get a Old Town with that minn kota or a live2 paddle board and rig it up
Oh the joys of boat ownership!
Ranger is expensive though, last time I look around 115K for new 2360. With Biden inflation I don't know what it might cost currently. Good luck and I will continue to enjoy your channel.
"I'm pretty sure that's littering" LMFAO I lost it when you said that LOL-----------------~
Cameras, boats, and saltwater go together like mustard, chocolate, and shampoo.
Lmao so true
Lol. Truth
Even PLASTIC zippers on a raincoat get jacked up by the salt.
Tarpon boats is the best, right?
Haaaaaa
Hobie pro anglers are probably the best kayaks you can get. Peddle powered and you can add electric or rig ur own gas motor. Lots of room and storage, and very stable.
Oldtown autopilot is a better fishing machine. Spot lock, you can troll and cast into the mangroves which is the type of fishing Lawson does. Pro angler when it comes to fishing does not come close. Period

Literally had the “I’m done” moment earlier this week with my boat. It sucks but this is some of the realist boat content there is😂
You should get a C-Dory 22 and do some overnight fishing trips!
Also, maybe you have a fan out there that is willing to help redo your bass boat and make it a reliable flats boat? I feel like a flats boat is key to inshore fishing and anything else is a compromise.
I have a 20' Skeeter bat boat with a 150HP Yamaha. I frigging love it! Highly recommend the Skeeter.
Yeah they are I had one for about 2 years and ditched it.
A great bay boat I see you in is like a 22 foot blazer bay that’s what we have. And it’s a perfect family boat and great for fishing
i feel the pain. when you feel like you can't get any more unlucky all you can do is laugh it off
I have an ascend 12 stand up/ sit in raised seat, its amazing, they even have some with peddles.
Love it.
exactly what this guy said ^^
I spent 5 years kayak fishing in a Tarpon 120 and finally in December decided to make the upgrade to a Hobie because I was tired of losing big fish when they pull me into the mangroves when I'm in Florida and even home in fresh water you just can't fish and paddle at the same time.
Feel your pain brother. Got rid of all my stuff and got a L4expedition paddle board… sometimes you gotta remember simple is best.
Keep your head up Lawson! Any fishing related content you put out is informative and real!
Thank you for sharing all your fishing videos with us! We appreciate you. We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the lake. They'll surely get lots of ideas and tips from you 😊
Hey Lawson I am very excited to see some kayak fishing videos from you. I have a perception pilot and I highly recommend it.
Dude i been waiting for you to kayak fish!! cant wait to see those videos!!
Man I’ve been there more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes all you can do is laugh, otherwise I’ve come extremely close to losing my damn mind and going off and hurting someone or myself. You’re handling well brother. Keep your head up buddy.🤙
This is so true
When searching for a boat I had the same thoughts on what I wanted in a boat. I bought a Frontier 2104 and I absolutely 💯 % love this boat. Great for my family, friends, fishing machine and its a dry ride. Plenty storage and space to move around the boat. Takes rough water very well....Quality boat all around.
I pulled up some pics on the Frontier. That is exactly what I'd buy too if I had a place to store it. Awesome boat.
Not one fish, yet I believe it is your best video to date. It was raw and full of emotion. Thanks for uploading this one dawg
I have a Carolina skiff dlv 218. I highly recommend it for family and fishing.
Yep man we’ve all been there. I just replaced all 4 bunks on my trailer
(rewelded) $1K. New trailer bearings, whole boat rewired, both power poles fixed and now my onboard battery charger is out. It’s always something bro. I have a Bass Cat Puma for sale that’s had everything replaced as you can tell.
For kayaks I suggest at the oldtown big water pdl 132 It’s not as expensive as the hobie but it’s just as functional especially in the flats
This video is a representation of how everything in my life has ever gone 😂 😭 🤣
Hobie outback with 180 kick up fins won't break the bank and is very versatile and light. Excited to see you fish from a yak.
Hobie 14’ angler with a mirage drive (either the 180 or the 360). Doesn’t even feel like kayak fishing + you get a quad pump.
I think it's a Texas thing, but you can't go wrong with a Dargel Kat. Bug enough to run offshore, light enough to run in inches of water.
Highly recommend it and looking forward to the next video 🤙
Edit: I forgot to mention that they are super stable so you can stand up on them easily too
Disconnect the batteries, charge em up and see if they'll hold charge over a day or so period.. if so, have a wiring issue somewhere drawing serious juice.
I feel ya brother! Been my life each and every week. I’m 40 now so lots of experience lol.
this some good content even without catching fish this shows you its not easy to go out and film its work to it every day aint perfect
Your best bet would be skeeter. Honestly best riding boat ive ever been on for the price HIGHLY recommend. Very comfortable very family friendly boat.
Good luck.
Boats are so easy to work on and fix... Don't give up...
Why do you want a production boat? Its cheaply made and the wiring is horrible. - coming from a guy who builds highend boats
@@HazehyMind not everyone can afford high end boats?
Bro for bay boat take a look at key west. 19 degree deadrise and foam filled. Padded gunners for bottom fishin. Big casting deck up front. If I downsize from my everglades 260cc and flats boat that's the play. Also tired of maintaining a ton of stuff.
That’s it! We’re starting a fund to get Lawson a 25’ ranger bay boat
Sea Hunt, Awesome Florida Bay Boat. Can run shallow or offshore.
Just a total maniacal laugh after everyone bad happens lol bless your heart buddy, that must be tough, keep your head up!
Kayak suggestion lure 11.5 with overdrive system and bay boat suggest a pathfinder and just cause I get one this week a beavertail mosquito sick flats boat drafts 4in very good customer service and always keep in touch with you
Buying a bass boat for saltwater is like buying a mud truck and driving it on the freeway. Sure it will work, but end of the day it really sucks
I’ve got a skeeter that kicks ass and a nice little Baycraft flats boat. Both great boats. You want a ride let me know.
LAWSON DO SOME PADDLE BOARD FISHING 🎣🔥💯
Get a Old Town with that minn kota or a live2 paddle board and rig it up
I rock an old town sportsman 120 pdl. The pedal drive is a complete game changer I would consider the investment.
Don't give up! I would love to see u get it running again!
When it rains it pours as they say
