Your love of behs is overwhelming. Your love of punk is the cherry on the icing of the creme de la cake.
Fantastic Fergal impression. You’ll be on radio 4 talking about how dirty the rivers are next. Nice playing too!
Great list. One to add as a great punk bassline is Paul Gray on The Damned's Waiting For The Blackout. That bassline has everything!!
Wonderful ! Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Dayumn!!!! You rock!!!
This is the stuff!! This is what we want !! Spot on !!
0:16 I've always loved the way the riff gets flipped for the verse. Such a subtle little touch. So choice!
Not a lot of people know that the intro to Holidays in the Sun was actually played on a packet of Doritos.
Holiday in the Sun is the best one here! Am I the only one who thinks so? What a song!
Sid was so bad he overshadowed just how good a bass player Glen Matlock actually was....
When I was 18, in '78 I used to wonder if I'd still like punk when I got old. And the answer is definitely yes (but don't miss the spitting).
I was 1😊6
Hearing “New Rose” when it first came out ( yep, I am that old ) changed my life forever
Great playing Danny ( loved the drum break on the non existent toms 😂)
These are all great. Really impressed with the tones you got. The saints one especially nailed it!!!
💯
Stiff Little Fingers is one of my all time favorite bands, love the cover, gimme more!!
No Rezillos??? Some of the best bass lines you've ever heard!
How did I miss seeing this masterpiece from a year ago???
Love this! More of this!
Fantastic! So good! Thanks for that!
The Undertones debut album is IMO one of the 15 greatest punk albums of all time. And Hypnotized is just as good. Adverts Crossing the Red Sea is a GREAT, underappreciated early punk album. The Saints' (I'm) Stranded is also one of the 15 greatest punk LPs of all time. And Eternally Yours is just as good. Don't sleep on Prehistoric Sounds either. Not as punky but it is really excellent. Damned are great too as are Stranglers. OH YES! SLF Inflammable Material another of the 15 greatest punk albums ever. And Nobody's Heroes, while not as incendiary as their debut, is more melodic and is great!! Was lucky enough to see both the Undertones and SLF on their first tour of America in a tiny out of the way club here in Manhattan NYC. When I bought Inflammable Material and played the first song, Suspect Device on my system I literally jumped out of my chair and screamed YES!!!! It was everything I could want in a punk song.
Thanks for this video. Very enjoyable and your playing is terrific.
If you'd like to read an article I wrote on punk, just google "The Top 15 Punk Albums!"
Amazing ! One of your best videos so far ! (Okay... this may not be objective). I always found punk music from the first wave had incredible bass lines and melodies. Thank you so much for this video.
Really put a smile on my face! Had to sing(?)along with Suspect device!
Bloody brilliant, more please!!!
Good god - you make me laugh! I love this! A lot of my favourite tunes! Love the Doritos - nearly wet myself laughing!!
Nice to see a bit of long-overdue Goddamn respect for The Captain's bahsline on New Rose!
That was ALL brilliant, and the expert use of a packet of Doritos was the best, but I am just so happy you did The Damned and The Stranglers. I fuckin love both bands. 🖤
Hell yes!! I'm just sat here jamming for the whole length of the video haha ❤
4 instruments, singing ánd funny editing! Awesome!
Grouse. And as a Skip, thanks for including the Saints
Damn it Danny! I like your versions more than the originals!
Excellent Danny. Time to dig out my limited supply of punk albums. (Clash, Pistols, and Ramones) I see that I need to add to that collection.
Love it Danny. Some of my favourite punk tunes. I've got that Ronnie Biggs single too!
Good Stuff Danny...
Alright! You got the humor and sheer fun in those songs. At my age now I'd probably throw out my back if I tried to thrash about to these "chunes"!
such a talented man!!! there must be something in that guinness...
Nice, the Doritos bag had me laughing my ar*e off.
More Punk please. ;-)
Sham 69 'Borstal Breakout', 'Industrial Estate' The Fall, Stranglers 'London Lady' '1977' The Clash would be good
Peaches would be a good one aswell!
yeah, Borstal Breakout....dope Love Sham!! Saw them on their first tour of America and my young punk mind was totally blown.
@@jacprendo He does Peaches on this vid

We all know the best Stranglers 'Punk Era' bassline is Goodbye Toulouse, no questions asked
Buzzcocks- Ever fallen in love
Beautiful. Add in ‘Plastic Surgery’ by the Ants to the list.
Danny I fuckin love you bud Happy new year 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
I felt that the video should have focused a bit more on showing the bass but still loved it. The song selections were really good too.
THE DORITO BAG LMAO LOVE THAT
Awesomeness.
Holidays in the Sun is said to have been ripped from In Tut City by The Jam. Not played using Doritos as percussion (were they even around in dem daze?).
Silly Thing also said to have been ripped from Teenage Kicks by The 'Tones.
amazing !!!!!!! bravooooooooooooo
That was quite nice for some first wave of punk rock ! You should do a version with more modern punk bands too (NoFX, The Offspring, Propagandhi, Rancid, Anti-Flag, A wilhelm scream, Blowfuse, Night birds, Good Riddance, etc.)
That was awesome!
Awesome !
Soundtrack of me youth!!
The Doritos intro!!!
... and not one Rickenbacker base. LOL Cool vid!
I'd love to see you do Flying Saucer Attack by the Rezillos.
You’ve finally got around to playing some decent tunes 😉
lol.....word
Brilliant, enjoyed all of them. Then, I had to hit the subscribe button.....
Nice n sleazy would of been my choice for the Stranglers number
Innit, what a great bassline
My favorite punk bassline to play is Cash, Culture & Violence (Rancid) and it's loouuud as well in the mix
As is every one of Matt Freeman’s bass lines, dude is an absolute beast and it’s awesome
Matt Freeman is underappreciated among TH-cam's bass community. That opening lick for "Journey to the End of the East Bay" and his solo is "Maxwell Murder" are fucking bangers.
Cool as! Punk's not (quite) dead!!
No, But I'm Nearly There. 🙂
This is pretty sick
I am impressed…SLF made the list 🍻
love Gaye Advert's basslines
3:50 BOOOOOOGIIIEE WOOGIE!
The girls and the boys are dancing around
I love this guy, he is so much better than other smart-assholes like Charles Berthound. Danny is the best! ❤
Awesome
I have a 7” of Die Hunns doing this. 😍
2:58 LOL
Go buddy go has the same bassline at Hey Joe
Next one: Buzzcocks, DK, Ramones, Clash, UK Subs, 999 These were all class though :) I cut my teeth on these monsters a million years ago :)
Love this guy for flying the true Punk flag, rather than the Pop-Punk bullshit that TH-camrs are passing off as “punk”
Is that drum kit a Sonor or Premier?
I thought go buddy go was a meteors song.... now im confused who covered who haha
Do a video about Pierre Kedzy, please.
Might have known you were a (failed?) guitar player! Nice to see it is possible to be a decent player, even with a severe case of Flying Fingers! 😉
Thumbs-up for New Rose
If anyone wonders why people like me lost interest in "classic" rock, this is why. Okay, it might have also been the fact that Debbie Harry was better looking than Robert Plant.
You really playing that keyboard ?
👍👍👍🫶
Just needs more distortion and fuzz.
God punk was great, although it last about 5 years then morphed to new wave
Amazing that when people sing they all sound American. Food for thought...What's with the fake speaking accent? ; )
