From time to time when I feel down, I watch this video. Thai people know how to live as human beings, Maybe it come from Buddhistic Way of Life. I am always touched by it, Respect from Japan.
I showed this to my Juniors in high school and it had them in tears not a dry eye in my class. I have repeated this video in most of my classes once a year till I retired and always same results.
this is something people forget about..whatever you do comes back to you. You do bad things they will come back worst. You do good things they come back even better. Remember!

My father took him and the baby to town through muddy roads in his motorcycle. They barely know each other and didn't maintain contact after that. Decades past before the connection. They are both dead now.

So he left with a smile and faith in humanity. Years later she got ill with a rare desise, noone knew what it was so they sent her to the big city. A doctor heard her name and the town she was from so he rushes to her room to see if its her. It was her. After a long process he healed her. She got the bill from the hospital and was afraid to open it. She opened it nervously and notices that she owes nothing and at the bottom he wrote: "Paid full with one glass of milk"
+Norris Lee A similar thing happened to me, but for much less money. It was the thought that was important to me.My wife and I were in a restaurant. The waitress brought the bill later than usual. She said it was paid in full by the couple seated behind us. They had asked her not to give the bill to us until they left. I was shocked, but happy at the same time.Once I gathered my composure I asked if they gave her a tip. I felt that was the least I could do. She said it was more than generous.I thanked the waitress. I would have liked to have thanked the couple who paid the bill, but they obviously wanted to remain anonymous.
Still my favourite 3 minute commercial. All the training and years to get to an experienced level can make doctors forget why they enter medicine in the first place. It is the first question they ask you in your interview, "Why do you want to study medicine?".
Can you imagine this actually happening? I just can't fathom the amount of compassion I felt in this piece. We need more occurances like this in reality!
I've seen this probably about 15 times or more, and every time, it kills me... Human kindness is the one thing that separates us from the animals, and is the one defining characteristic that makes us grater than all others....
This made me cry like a little baby... It's so rare to see such kindness and heart anywhere nowadays. We should be way more kind to each other than we are.

It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love."
+Benz K. Well I have just googled the true story that this was based. It didn't exactly happened that way. Dr. Howard Kelley was a struggling medical student selling magazines door to door. He reached a small town and was very hungry and asked for a glass of water from a house of a poor family. He was given a glass of milk instead. Later on while he was a high ranking doctor at John Hopkins Hospital a sick old lady was admitted from that small town and he found out it was the same lady who gave him a glass of milk. And that's how he wrote in the bill the now popular phrase "paid with a glass of milk many years ago".

I think it's because we're all so cynical. We don't believe in goodness anymore. Read a story yesterday about a guy who went to jail for stealing $40k from his employer. Apparently it was because of the bills from his childs illness. You know all I thought was "yeh, right. of course it was". Now how sad and pathetic was that?
Pretty cynical when you know what medical bills can be like. With the current Admin we need all the loving kindness we can muster among us. Even small things count. We have to stop going "yeah right" and start being like this commercial, and like the Unsung Hero guy. Even doing someone a good turn or courtesy you just toss off like it's not much, might be the world to someone else because it's all a matter of perspective.
what i love about this video is that most of the people in thailand really are like this. Imean in most "western" countries the people would just look away and think the child may be abusing the pills but here in thailand its a lot more human
This is incredible. Kindness isnt always rewardless. It does eventually come around. regardless of race, creed, or country. Being kind, is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. If just once everyone was kind to another person, image how the bonds of the world would be healed.. This might be a commercial, but it is so much more than that..
In the real world and in Thailand, this poor kid is less likely to become a doctor. This man just want to help him. ..Giving is not only to help people in need, but to fulfill our empty heart and make the world we living more beautiful.

Yeah but at the end the little boy that tried to take the meds became a doctor and he paid for the medical bill for the an that gave him veggie soup and the meds for his mom......this video is very touching...love it.

I managed to hold back my tears but I was close. This is true advertising; something that really pulls on the heart strings. 3 minutes of nothing but pure emotion. If these kind of adverts were shown on TH-cam then I'd be happy to not hit the Skip button, in fact I'd keep on refreshing the page until the advert is used.

The consumer ads that promote non foods, waste, addictie substances, illness, and disease by highlighting them. What we focus on INCREASES!!! Wake up! What we refuse to acknowledge goes away. How long do you think Coca Cola would remain in business if no one bought the product? Start by NOT watching Television or commercials. Chooose things like this and send them on to as many as you can. Help others discover the humanity hiding within so they too can say 'No Thank You" to fear and control and "yes please" to choosing For Themselves, BY themselves" A first step.
