I love that line, "My work is valid, I can't prove it but I know." Something about the bravery of a lone artist standing up to the dehumanizing force of global capitalism that wants to silence this perspective. This song is like a modern version of Imagine.

Canada used to produce so many amazing artists/songs back in the 80's and 90's but as soon as 2000 hit, it all went downhill. This is the first Canadian artist I've found inspiring in a couple decades. (and for anybody who mentions Justin Bieber or Drake, you prove my point even more.)
Depression. She was talking about depression. She saw it coming years ahead. This is why we have such great art now. Depression will create the final generation. 😬
🖤 this. This is the Austra I know and love. Whatever they were thinking when they made Olympia I hope never happens again. I thought they sold out for a second
Love Austra. I just found her music out. No big deal (I mean, no other than going through life without listening to her awesome tracks the last 6 years,,, smh) I can feel her vibes and find her ad hoc Lorde's, Halsey's and Tove Lo's Witch House. She's a good one!
When Austra said 'I live in a city full of people I don't know' and 'People riding highways from workplace to the home' It might be fiction(utopia) but I see it ahead / There’s nothing I wouldn’t do’ she literally laid down basis for the communist manifesto- What a Queen!
There is something about Austra's music that it is timeless for me.
I forgot about her for a couple years. Was looking over some old playlists a few days ago and found her again. :)
Two years later and I still listen to this everyday
it's just sooooooooo good
Some of the most beautiful vocals I have ever heard in my life, strait through the flesh and body to the soul.
I thank spotify for recommending me such an amazing artist.
Yeah, I want to thank you spotify too! and Austra of course :)
This song and video cleared my skin, straightened my hair and beat me in the face. Thank you.
I can beat you in the face too if you want. But only if you are a man.

SO TRUE

Absolutely
One of the most interesting pop band of these years...
interesting fusion of styles. The chord changes remind me of early new wave while utilizing a more modern sounding digital palette. She's excellent.
Nowhere Girl from B movie is very reminiscent of the melody dance beat, piano keyboards...

It's been soooo long, and so far it looks like she's made a great return
my man
her voice is UNIQUE
Dramatic Kid if ur looking for similar artists, try grimes (especially her earlier stuff) and purity ring!
Geidi Primes is one of my favorite albums ever :)
Dramatic Kid her voice sounds remarkably like Florence welch's- give Florence and the machine a listen! :)
I think their voices sound similar but at the same time they're also different especially when Katie hits high notes.
Anyway I love Florence :)
I was thinking that Florence and Austra sounded most similar in both their head voices.

She was in Mexico for a while....between the 2nd and 3rd albums....where she heard and really liked the electro cumbia scene
Katie's done something with her face (that's not criticism, btw., she looks superlovely). And this is a magnificent song.
She has just lost weight :)
Losing weight has a side effect of "face gains" where generally people look more attractive after significant weight loss.
