By the way Bob Stinson's guitar really shines on the new "Tim, Let it Bleed edition" ... it is so clean without all that foggy reverb.

Odd seeing the host lady holding the umbrella for Craig.

No mention of Lipps INC 1979 pop hit FUNKYTOWN? At least give St Paul some cred for that one

It's telling how much Lizzo respected music apparently worlds apart from hers. As far as I've noticed, most groundbreaking artists in any given genre tend to appreciate many styles.

Is Lance Bangs (a production credit that appeared at the end of this video) related to Lester Bangs?

Fun fact- that’s not actually Bob Mould. It’s Greg Graffin with a beard. Don’t believe me? Listen to him speak, sounds just like Greg

If I ever got to meet Bob Mould I would ask him why he chose to always play a flying V guitar during his years with Husker Du

I’m guessing it was completely arbitrary, the way it often is when a young and dirt poor person gets a chance to buy their first guitar: He probably just found one at a reasonable price he could afford. (After all he did move on to other models once he - I assume - had bit of money. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with the Flying V).

The Replacements were a lot better. Diversity of good music is great, sometimes less than good diversity is not so good.

I would never compare the two. They had their own unique sounds which were equally brilliant

No Huskers were better, if that who you're comparing with..:)
Replacements were great too, of course, i just think Husker Du wrote more cathartic songs and were more influential on the course of music to follow. They were more original simply put.
Replacements were more like a punk Rolling Stones.

@@galadrielgaladriel7375 True, Bob Mould doesn't have an amazing voice exactly, but i still dig the Huskers style/songs more.

@@alaskatoburningmen4549 I do like Husker Du though but some songs are a hit or miss.... I think they just have way more material to pick from where as Replacements material is usually solid in and out.. Husker Du definitely seemed to be accepted more by the punk families but in reality there seems to be a more alienation from the punk bands with the replacements and im not sure why maybe jealousy? maybe they knew they were it? I dont know?

Sounds like a recent live version of Mould doing Celebrated Summer by Hüsker Dü.

finn is being dramatic he is too young to have seen prince, husker du, replacements, etc in their umm, hayday. he probably saw something late era like late 80s early 90s but thats it.

He went to all ages shows when he was not old enough to drink. He did in fact see those bands in their heydey.
