Thank you Giles for bringing this up to us ,a lot of people my age (65+) are buying tablets instead of either a desktop or laptop. Keep up the great work 👍
I wouldn't mind just having a smart phone for internet use, but have to wait for an interface between the phone and my TV. Maybe there is one, I just don't know about them.
Unfortunately probably because of windows with all the ridiculous changes and restrictions. Personally I prefer a desktop PC, but I also use tablets and my phone all with different purposes. Steve Jobs once said that desktop top PC's will become a thing of the past. I of course disagreed with him, but I don't know could he have been correct? I use phone watching TH-cam, calls, texting and GPS. Tablet for same as phone minus calling and texting, a few other small things. PC I use for office, crafting, photography, internet and much more. So in essence the PC is greatly required for me. Let's face it some things you just can't do with a phone or tablet like you can with a desktop. Let us also not forget about data storage or NAS systems, these days we require copas amount of storage to which a smartphone cannot do. 4 things control: memory, storage, graphics and processing power. Tablets however have gotten better but still not quite there yet. Not to mention that I just enjoy building them when money and time allow. There is nothing more enjoyable than building your own custom PC.
This is something i commented on your videos before, how is not he same as years ago, people prefer a smart phone or even tablet, so if the computer is becoming less useful and redundant why to buy a new one? if they have money better to buy a new smartphone, if their PC for homework and home office still works a lot of people don't care if MS is pushing them for W11 or are worried for W10 end of support, especially in a developing country where i live
I have never gotten a smart phone or tablet. I like my PC with 2-22 inch monitors. I get my internet through my land-line phone (I chose not to get Fibre-optic).
Makes sense people are ending up with Smart phones because it's handy over PC bulky non portable. Laptops are about the same battery drain like poop even you just charged it.
tablets are not as powerful as a laptop and it is not easy to type on a touch screen then using actual physical keyboard. smartphones and tablets have a mobile OS, while desktops and laptops have a desktop OS. There is a difference between them - mobile has less features
It's hard to type an essay on a smart phone. There are several things that are much easier on a computer.
or tablet which is why school students use laptops

I'll stick with pcs. I find smart phones to hard to restrict a lot of built in functions.

I choose to get Laptop over Smartphone any of the day

I totally disagree. Try writing a long email or report on a smartphone. Very difficult. I know, I've tried!!
