Good job! FYI, might want to be a bit careful around where the rear seat that you removed was -- that's access to the fuel pump which inserts into the fuel tank. If it ever fails, they get to it from under the rear seat so just be careful with lines and hoses around there. Cheers!...from North Vancouver
Wow. 😎😂 Gutsy. As usual. A tip. When you are removing or fastening bolts, don't do them one by one, but work on them simultaneously, if you can. Little bit by little bit. Because if you take one out first, the other ones are often harder to remove because there can be a small angle now (no tension on one side, still lots of tension on the other bolts). Your hands will thank you too.
Hey there Kelly! So the transformation has begun! You have no fear, I love it! You've learned so much with the Pacifica and now you can put your knowledge and expertise in making the Santa Fe your own. I can't wait to see what you do to your new camping companion! I hope you find a way to get your two big batteries in there. You'll figure it out. Good luck with it Kelly, I'm sure it will turn out great! Stay safe and happy camping! SUV 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙-----Steve.
Oh I’m so glad you took the seats out! You opened up so much room between that and the panel. 😮 Can’t wait to see what you do with it. It’s so much fun right?
Hi - I'm interested to see how this comes along. My 2 cents on that weird piece in the back corner, it's probably for sound dampening/insulation to help reduce road noise.
I was holding my breath the whole video. I think that was sound deading panel. Was totally surprised you took out that side panel. Very interested in what you do.
I have a 2010 Santa Fe and I’ve had the seats out since I bought it. I’ve tried a couple different builds, but the best is a simple short platform that gives that head space! I never would have thought to take that side panel out, but it’s coming out now seeing all the attachment points!
Hi Kel you did a great job creating space for your new bed ! Phew though... a bit tricky but you made it look easy. I can't wait for the next stage ! 🚗🛠
There is a channel you might be interested in as the build looks very well put together. His channel name is Sharing the Wild . This type of build would look awesome in your suv.
Hey Kelly! I'm leaving on a two month road trip this weekend, and have spent a lot of the last week dealing with panels! The trick is you just have to dont' think about it, just grab it and pull hard. But not TOO hard. And it takes practice to know the difference. I hate those little plastic panel bolts, they break all the time. I have an assortment box I got at Harbor Freight. Definitely consider getting a shop manual for it, not a Haynes or a Chilton, but a real factory one. I found mine for $100 on EBay ('03 Odyssey), but I'm guessing yours would be easier to find. It would have told you where the screws and bolts are, and the sequence they recommend to do it. It would also tell you what that mystery panel is... because I have no idea. Thanks! You've been one of the channels that has inspired me to do this. Thank you so Much! -David
@@minivancampergal1554 You can probably get one direct from the dealer since it's a new car. They're the phone book looking things you see at auto shops. Cheers!
I am obviously very clueless. But, will there be a problem with auto insurance coverage if something unfortunate should occur? I mean, if you keep it altered like it is now?
The 8 on the bolts is the grade, not the size. Grade 8 bolts are industrial strength. Tempered carbon alloy steel. Don't lose them or replace them with lesser bolts!
Love your fearless approach to taking out that trim. You've got so much more space now. Just make sure to put some sound deadener on that blank tin.
My range of emotions while watching this video
☺️🤔😳😬😬😬😯😲🤯🤗😏😊🤣😁❤️
The big laugh was when the plastic fell 🤣
Haha, I love this! Thanks!
Good job!

I look forward to watching this build! The moment you pulled those seats out, made me realize this can be done in the Santa Fe 🎉❤
When you tackled the trim, you showed you are far more adventurous than me!
You are brave, having taken that side panel off. Well done you, it was obviously worth it. Space is the ultimate in small vans. 😃
You’re so brave to pull your brand new SUV apart like that!😮😅

You are very brave! I removed a part of my rear seat from my new Subary Forester but can't go for removing the whole seat...
That hole in the floor is my dream come true I would probably use it for drainage.
Hi Kelly, I love your "NO-FEAR" mentality, just do and make it work.
Love en succes in the creation of your new rig, Peter.
Haha, thanks Peter!
Kelly, you're so good at building out a car ! You've become an expert ! Maybe I should ask you to build my van . Lol 😆

Well, this is going to be very interesting!
I love the outdoors in all seasons but I watch this channel for just these videos- from your mind to the transformation.
Thanks!
Let the build begin ‼️ 😁👍
Thanks Lynne!
I think I’m more excited than you are as to what comes next! You’re very creative and fun to watch! 🤗
Haha, thanks Kathleen!

Your adventurous nature is fun to watch, and strangely attractive. Silly SMILE.

Just great work thank you. I will follow you. I also have a Santa Fe and I learned a lot from you Video. Regards Hermann from Iceland.
Thanks Hermann! I hope I can give you some ideas for your Santa Fe!

Hey David! ooh, thanks for the tip, I think I'll get one of those books! I didn't know there was a step up from Chilton. Have a great trip!

The 8 is for the strength of the bolt
I think I’d leave the plastic side panels in place to protect the wiring and sensors. Otherwise it’ll just need covering up again?
I am obviously very clueless. But, will there be a problem with auto insurance coverage if something unfortunate should occur? I mean, if you keep it altered like it is now?
Do you get help with your projects?
Ahggg the wheel well! 😮
put the bolts in a plastic bag and a note about the socket size
YUP...those seats gotta go...!!!
🦋🦋🦋
Maybe get replacement pieces or panels from junk yard?
Those are nice vehicles but Hyundai makes cars kinda light so hopefully with all your stuff it'll help traction

Good to know, thanks!
I would leave the panel because that's your insulation. And hides all the wires

I wish you had gotten an older van to build out. That vehicle is way too tight. At least for me.
You need someone to help you
Having help is always great but I’ve been amazed how much that tiny person can do on her own. Haven’t seen her need anyone yet!
