@@medicodyssey 76mm is very good, can pen most things if you know the weakspots. i recommend spending some time in protection analysis looking at where to pen panthers and IS1s from the front

The most annoying game ive ever played was when 3 high level players in a squad playing KV-1s steam rolled my entire team and sat in our spawn on factory, it was so frustrating because we couldnt do anything to pen them, i could only barrel them and wait for their team to mop me up.

Perfectly good gun for the job, people just don't take the time to learn how to kill heavies. Even inferior guns can dismantle a KV-1E quite easily, the breach weak spot is already highlighted for you.

As a russian main, i find this accurate.
As a russian USSR main I find this somewhat inaccurate in case of uptier.
I can crit all your tanks but miss the gunner and turret ring every time, when you hit me you just kill the entire gunnery crew and my turret ring (I can still aim with turret ring broken pretty well)
As a German main I can also say this is accurate, find the same enemies at vastly different tank levels

Man that's not bad, when the pz4H was still extremely low br I was literally unstoppable in down tiers, able to pen everything while at the same time most things couldn't pen me in the best conditions

German 3.3 can actually deal with the KV-1 decently easily even from the front. They have many long 75s, and all of them can pen the KV frontally straight through the upper plate.
Yeah, honestly, as hard as German tanks can be at most teir levels, the 3.3. br level is god teir for German tanks, because there is literally nowhere you can put them where it would be fair
YES. This is literally what I did when I first ran into one of those things. Bro popped outta a wall Kool-Aid Man style and I basically panic fired into that part and one shotted him in a P4.
Ever since then I never had trouble taking them out frontally because their weakness is kind of like that of the early P3's. One REALLY easy to pen frontal spot.

@@loonyshots5879 i think alot of german vehicles at 3.3 are pretty fair. The good vehicles, the IV, IIIJ, and StuH, are all pretty fair.
The IV has just enough armor to be usable, but it's not something you can rely on. It's gun meanwhile still requires you to aim vs heavy opponents like shermans and the KV, but is generally a good match.
The III's Peashooter can still work against lighter foes, and it's armor works well but isn't impenetrable.
The StuH has a hard to aim gun but one that can get stuff done, and it has the armor to make it work.
The Puma is the awkward one. It can work at almost any BR until 50cals come into play, and it's speed makes it competitive anywhere in that range (plus surprisingly trolly side armor, at any BR, helps too)

KV-1 on wikipedia and in games: M-17 and V-2 are now the same engine just because we claim that V-2 on KV-1 was producing 600hp.
KV-1 in reality: the best V-2 was capable of doing until late T-54 is 520hp, not 600hp. Even IS-3 was limited to 520hp.

Can't stress how many matches in my first days where ruined by the KV1
had a B1 bis be downtiered to tier 1 once, it just drove into spawn and sat there for 10 minutes and nobody could kill it
first few kv are actually balanced. KV-1S varient is where it stops. The KV-1 (zis-5) is literally a earlier kv, except with 25mm of additional armour to the hull in 50% of it, just for people to shoot your turret 99.99% of the time (and they do in earlier tiers aswell) while still being able to pen your hull, and you still have the same shit gun as a 3.0 varient. Keep in mind this is 4.7. KV-85 gets an IS-1 turret tho, still having shit cheek armour (aim for flat part) and the aphe is somewhat competitive. IS-1 is at a whole ass 5.7 with a worse reload, gun, mobility, and armour than a panther. people say "russian bias!!!" think about 4.7-5.7 russian ground first.
Always aim for their lower plate if you have 100+mm of pen and for the kv-1e or kv-1b you can eithers slightly further down, aim for the driver view port or take out the gun first then explore

I have suffered a lot from these panthers in the past. The simplest thing is that if the opposite side makes a diamond angle, if you squeeze it from the pallet part to the body part, there will be a very weak hole.After that, the weakest part is the two sides and corners of the tower. If the bottom plate is facing forward, the hardest part to drill is the front plate. Of course, there are places on the tower that are more difficult to drill, etc.But with little space

It’s usually the driver’s port that’s the best target and often gets them killed… if they’re not over pushing like most Russian mains.
That panther 75 round is just dumb broken.
This is typical for most heavy tanks. Maybe all of them. This is why you should have both a good heavy tank and a good glass cannon style tank destroyer in the lineup. If you are in a downtier, play with the heavy tank, you'll be invulnerable to almost everyone and can pen everyone. If you are uptiered, use the open-topped tank destroyer with cardboard armor: then the tier does not matter, you can get killed by everyone, but you can kill everyone, no matter the tier difference.

Honestly KV-1 used to be my most feared tank when I was a lil 100 hour newbies but after I grinded up the full Japanese and Swedish tree and accumulated 2k hours of being physically and mentally abused, when I was playing German KV-1’s barrel replacements went up in stock

This is why down tiers and up tiers should be removed. It’s incredibly hard to balance things when you can fight one be higher or lower.
