I'm slowly convincing the wife to let me do diy stuff. Your videos help with that. Welcome back!

Welcome back. Very cool idea. I used to hook rubber bats and spiders with fishing line to different doors of our porch and house, so they'd move.

So great to have a new tutorial from you! We’ve all missed you!
That being said, I’m pretty sure you just encouraged our daughter to add another item onto our DIY projects. 😂

I use those same motors but have found a super sturdy way of attaching an arm like you did without worrying about it coming loose. Instead of using the attachment that comes with the motor and trying to attach to the top of it don’t use it at all. Take your metal bracket and give a short 90 degree bend and put a hole in the short part. Then using a small bolt and nut (or a cotter pin) attach that to the motor shaft through where the worm screw would normally go. It holds really well. You can also bend it over the top of the shaft and put a hole there and use another bolt so you can double secure it if you really want, but I’ve found just through the worm hole works great.

I have a question, I've seen this similar set up but all of them the person make their own bat , could this work with a basic rubber bat from the store . With a bigger motor.

I wonder if braid would work better than monofilament… I prefer braid on my rigs, and so often they are invisible in daylight… 🤔

Instead of the blocks you could have mounted the motor on the top and drilled a hole for the shaft
