Starting to build our raised beds in the Japan shou sugi ban burnt wood look for our winter greenhouse. As we continue our Passive Solar Greenhouse with Geothermal Build, an off grid winter Greenhouse in Mongolia. In this episode we get the first of our raised bet build in our greenhouse. Now hopefully soon we will be able to extend the growing season and grow things that no one has ever grown in Mongolia before.This will be an Off Grid Passive Solar Greenhouse built in Mongolia that has also incorporated a full GAHT System Geothermal greenhouse. This is all part of the adventure and joinery to an off-grid homestead in the land of the blue sky.

yes- we are doing/building using the german technique of Hugelkulter. wood,branches,twigs on bottom,layer of soil,kitchen scraps,another layer of soil,I throw in worm castings,bonemeal amendments etc,peat,fluff up my clay type soil.it helps to fill the bottom with organic matter that breaks down and feeds the soil. yesterday we started our very long bed in the orchard same technique. that one is flanked on both sides with very large wood rounds that our small splitter cannot handle,to make the sides..dont have anyone that can split them up for us right now so i will use them up!

oh,and by the way you both are doing a fantastic job of that greenhouse! so big and roomy,what are the measurements?? we seniors built our Hoophouse last summer,another slightly bigger for next spring going up! We reuse whatever materials we can before we buy retail and this summer our gardens certainly put some good produce out for us! Keep up the good works and blessings to your little family..

Happy Anniversary 🎉🎉🎉 so good to see you guys and such a big accomplishment on the greenhouse in the last year I am sure that you have done your research on what to fill your raised beds with. I went with rocks on the bottom for drainage and then branches and logs and compost from my kitchen scraps and then my dirt. Had the best pepper harvest this year ever. I plan on digging up some of my older beds and adding the kitchen scraps next year. Eggshells grass clippings paper towels leaves vegetable scraps etc. can’t wait to see your next video and I hope that you have a nice day celebrating your anniversary 🎉🎉🎉
